Chapter 1207: Obedient People
Chapter 1207: Obedient People
But just like Long Jin stated, everyone harbors personal interests, and Pei Yan is no exception. Given the current situation, whether for personal gain or his desire to better control the scenario in the future, Pei Yan will not allow any unstable factors to emerge within his ranks."Alright!"
Amid the contention between Long Jin and Hati, Pei Yan’s abrupt approval echoed, drawing everyone’s attention to him. They weren’t sure if Pei Yan’s agreement was in support or held other intentions.
"There is a saying in my homeland that forcefully plucked melons aren’t sweet. I, Pei Yan, am not someone who likes to impose on others! Since Miss Hati is reluctant to heed my commands, then you might as well remain in the Dragon Realm acting as the eldest lady of your clan." Upon saying this, Pei Yan pointed at Tushan Suisui with a smile and asked, "Will you be obedient?"
"Yes, yes!" Tushan Suisui, understanding that her actions had initially won Pei Yan’s favor, hastily nodded in response.
"Then come with us!"
"Wait!" Hati, recovering from her shock, spoke again, but this time failed to stop Pei Yan, who, without turning back, walked straight ahead. Unable to endure any further, the Fenrir Giant Wolf Race’s eldest lady leapt several times past the corridor pillars and barred Pei Yan’s path.
"I said wait!"
"Miss Hati, we have urgent matters to attend to! If you have nothing further, please make way; I don’t have time to waste here with you," Pei Yan said coldly, his face showing annoyance at having his path blocked.
"You have no right to decide if I stay or go! Bringing us along is the decision of the Ancestral God!" The wolf clan maiden, Hati, shouted defiantly at Pei Yan.
"Miss Long Jin, what did the Ancestral God say?" Pei Yan asked, casting a glance at Long Jin, who stuck by his side.
Hati’s lack of respect and disregard not only offended Pei Yan but also irritated Long Jin, who responded with a cold snort, "The teacher said everything depends on Mr. Pei’s and the Young Master’s wishes."
"Did you hear that? Then move aside!"
"If you want me to step aside, it must be by the Young Master’s order!" Hati said, ignoring Pei Yan’s increasingly displeased expression and turning her hopeful gaze to Hu Jiu.
"Then move aside!" Hu Jiu lazily uttered, his solidifying power over the past month allowing him to articulate clearly, unlike when he first awakened. Coldly returning Hati’s gaze, he responded.
Being humiliated twice before everyone left the proud and dignified wolf clan’s young princess unable to maintain her composure and grace. She stared at Hu Jiu and demanded sternly, "Young Master, can’t you make your own decision on this matter? Are you to remain under the control of this man all your life?"
"Hati, stand down!" Long Jin quickly intervened before Pei Yan could act, sensing the unconcealed killing intent in Pei Yan’s body after Hati’s severe words. Long Jin never intended to escalate the matter to an irreparable extent; she merely wanted to rebuke the Magic Race.
"It’s okay! Since she mentioned it! Hu Jiu, make your own decision then." Pei Yan said, ignoring Hati, brushing past her, as Tushan Suisui, observing Pei Yan and then Hu Jiu, slyly stood behind Hu Jiu. Though currying favor with Pei Yan was necessary, realizing her ultimate goal was equally crucial; at this moment, siding with her future husband and endorsing his choice was to her greatest advantage.
"I may have just awakened my consciousness, but it doesn’t mean I’m foolish! From the day I was born, the Department of Investigation of that world viewed me as family; that’s where my home and friends are! My current abilities owe not only to my father’s nurturing but crucially to leveraging my third brother’s capabilities! The moment my consciousness awakened, I was fully aware of this. My big brother and I are one in life and death; what makes you think you could wed in here and stir discord between us?"
After finishing these words, Hu Jiu ignored the humiliated and furious Hati, striding proudly after Pei Yan, with Tushan Suisui casting Hati a sympathetic look and then closely following.
"Were those words your own, or did someone from your clan teach you to say them?" Long Jin critically asked, watching the trio disappear down the corridor’s end.
"What does it to do with you? This is precisely the outcome your Daoist Race wanted to see, right? Was it you who said something to Pei Yan just now, causing such bias against me?" Hati raised her head and retorted angrily.
Long Jin snorted, her gaze full of disdain, "I assumed that given the importance of the matter; your clan would send a smart person; who knew they’d send a pampered fool! If you had bothered to understand Pei Yan a bit before coming here, you would know his philosophy isn’t swayed by a word or two from me! Today, your foolish actions effectively wiped out much of the goodwill Pei Yan had established toward your Magic Race."
Raising a hand to interrupt Hati’s attempts at defending herself, Long Jin continued, "There’s no need to explain anything to me! Go and explain to your father and the clan leaders of your Magic Race! Attempting to bypass Pei Yan to provoke the Young Master’s rebellious heart to seek your attention and reliance requires self-awareness of your worth! I have transmitted the situation back to your clan via observation crystal; your clan should recognize right from wrong. I’m telling you: two hours remain until the full activation of the passage and Pei Yan’s return to the Daoist Realm. This is your clan’s last chance; don’t say you weren’t warned!"
Having said this, Long Jin disregarded the stunned Hati and believed the Magic Race would soon educate the self-assertive eldest lady accordingly. The words she’d just conveyed reflected utmost kindness and sincerity, leaving nothing amiss for the others to find fault with afterwards.
In front of the space barrier, since they were formally departing without any particularly urgent matters, according to the rules, Pei Yan had to wait until communication between the Spirit Monster Plane and Daoist Plane was complete, and a stable space passage was set up, before he could return to the Daoist Plane via teleportation.
While waiting, Pei Yan observed the elegantly standing Tushan Suisui beside Hu Jiu and the twenty-five people gathered behind her, frowning curiously and asking, "Are these people accompanying us?"
"These people are my clan’s dispatched personal guards to protect myself and the Young Master; they are the top experts of the clan!"
