Stealing the Pen: Kirin's Primordial Lotus

Chapter 600

Chapter 600

"Wu Xie, are we really not going to tell Hua Ye before we leave?" Fatty Wang stood at the gate of the courtyard, looking at Wu Xie hesitantly.

Wu Xie shook his head and said firmly: "No more talking. I'm afraid that the moment we see them, we won't be able to leave." He knew very well that if they saw Hua Ye, they might be persuaded to stay, or even change their minds and stay.

Fatty Wang thought about it and felt that what Wu Xie said made sense, so he nodded and said, "Okay, I'm free now anyway. That shop was originally given to me by my uncle, and Mr. Jin is watching over it for me, so it won't go bankrupt." He patted his backpack, which contained some necessary items.

Wu Xie looked at Fatty Wang and suddenly asked, "Fatty, do you regret ever having anything to do with me?" He had always wanted to ask this question, but was afraid of getting a bad answer.

Fatty Wang's eyes widened, as if he had heard something unbelievable. "Wu Xie, you're being too hypocritical! What kind of friendship do we have? We're brothers who have risked our lives for each other. What I envied most in the past was the friendship between my uncle, Grandpa Hu, and Grandma Yang. Now, with great difficulty, I, Fatty, have a similar relationship too. How could I possibly regret it?"

Wu Xie was deeply moved after hearing Wang Pangzi's words. He knew that the friendship between them could not be described in words.

The two stood at the entrance of the courtyard, silent. Wu Xie looked up at the name of the courtyard. This was a place he and Fatty had only just come to know after living there for so long. Suddenly, he felt like he had nothing to regret.

"Let's go! If we don't leave now, we will miss the train." Wu Xie said as he let out a long sigh, as if he had let out all the depression in his heart with this breath.

The two men, carrying their bags, walked slowly through the garden. Just then, a servant suddenly appeared in front of them. He seemed to have been caught slacking off, so he hurried forward and greeted them: "Master San, Master Fatty, where are you going?"

Wu Xie looked at the servant who had suddenly appeared, and his heart could not help but become alert. He calmed himself down and replied with a smile, "Xiao Yu, your fat uncle and I are out traveling. We've been bored in Yanjing for so long, so we decided to take this opportunity to go out for a walk and relax."

After saying this, Wu Xie quietly watched the servant turn around and leave, continuing to clean the garden. However, just as the servant's figure disappeared from his sight, Wu Xie suddenly seemed to be frozen in place, stunned.

After a long while, he slowly turned his head and looked at the fat man beside him, muttering, "Fatty, I seem to be becoming less and less like myself. In the past, even telling a small lie would make me feel guilty and anxious, but now... I can actually deceive anyone so naturally, without even the slightest burden."

Fatty Wang patted Wu Xie's shoulder and said, "Wu Xie, it's not that you've become different from yourself. You've just grown up. You're no longer the treasure in the ivory tower that was once protected."

After being comforted by Fatty Wang, Wu Xie set out again on his journey to leave Yanjing.

The moment the two got into the taxi, they turned back at the same time and looked through the car window glass at the Xie Mansion which was becoming smaller and smaller, until it completely disappeared at a turn.

Wu Xie raised his hand to cover his chest, feeling a dull pain in his heart. "Wu Xie, are you really not going to tell Hua Er Ye the truth?"

Wu Xie shook his head and said with a wry smile, "They are already busy enough, so let's not trouble them with our little matter."
