Stealing the Pen: Kirin's Primordial Lotus

Chapter 452: The Man Chasing the Wind

Chapter 452: The Man Chasing the Wind

The next day, before the sun rose fully, but with only a hint of dawn, a fiery red sun had already hung impatiently high in the sky over the desolate and boundless Northwest land. It was like a huge fireball, emitting a fiery and intense light, and continuously pouring out its warm energy to the earth.

These energies seemed to have penetrating power, easily passing through the tent that Wu Xie and Wang Pangzi lived in. The tent was originally a little dim and cool, but with the sunlight, the temperature rose rapidly and soon became stuffy.

Wu Xie and Wang Pangzi simply couldn't sleep well in such an environment. They turned over several times in a daze, mumbling and complaining about the annoying heat wave, and finally they could no longer bear it, so they slowly crawled out of the tent with great difficulty.

They rubbed their still hazy eyes with their hands, trying to wake themselves up; they raised their heads and looked at each other with blurred eyes. At this moment, they almost simultaneously noticed the dark blue color in each other's eyes, which was as thick as a dark cloud. This dark blue looked very conspicuous, as if someone had hit them hard.

Seeing this scene, the two were stunned at first, and then they couldn't help laughing. The laughter spread far and wide in the empty northwest wilderness, as if to completely break the silence of the early morning...

"Wu Xie! Why didn't you sleep well in the middle of the night and sneaked out? Look at your panda eyes, they are almost as dark as those of a national treasure!" Fatty Wang teased with a smile, while reaching out to touch the equally dark circles under his eyes.

"Hey! Fatty, you're still talking about me! Look at yourself, are you planning to compete for favor with the giant panda in the zoo? The dark circles under your eyes are more exaggerated than mine!" Wu Xie hit back unyieldingly.

The two of them kept arguing like this for quite a while, until they heard their stomachs growling and stopped talking temporarily.

They each poured a handful of clean water and simply washed their faces to make themselves a little more awake. Then they returned to the camp and enjoyed a breakfast that was not really delicious - a few hard dry food and cold tea.

Wu Xie and Fatty Wang did this: they ate and played when they woke up, and continued to eat when they were tired of playing. Then, when night fell, they went into the tent to sleep and waited for the next day to come.

The two waited on the deserted road day after day, until they were about to run out of ammunition and food, and their hope appeared.

"No! Fatty, we have to save ourselves! Let's fight this car today! If we are lucky, we can come here again next year. If we are unlucky, we can only ask Xiaohua to burn more paper for us every year!" Wu Xie, with chapped lips and pale face, leaned against Fatty Wang, pointing viciously at the broken-down SUV not far away.

After the two of them had their last hearty breakfast, they worked like heroes on the battlefield to repair the car that suddenly exploded. Fatty Wang relied on his tall and strong figure, but he was too fat to get into the narrow bottom of the car.

So he suddenly had an idea and forcefully squeezed the thin and flexible Wu Xie under the car, and told him to carefully check whether there were any damaged or loose parts under the vehicle.

Fatty Wang stood in front of the car, opened the hood with great effort, bent down and stared at the inside of the engine with wide eyes, trying to find the cause of the failure.

Just as the two were concentrating on troubleshooting the car problem, Wu Xie suddenly heard a faint sound of horse hooves. At first he thought he had misheard, but as time went on, the sound of horse hooves not only did not disappear, but became clearer and closer.

"Fatty! Did you hear any sound? It sounds like the sound of horse hooves, and it seems to be very close to us!" Wu Xie closed his eyes nervously, listening attentively to the sound of hooves coming closer and closer, and a layer of sweat broke out on his forehead.

"Not only did I hear it! I also saw it!" Fatty Wang stared speechlessly at Wu Xie, who was looking smug and pretentious. He could no longer tolerate it, so he raised his hand and slapped Wu Xie hard on the head.

"Isn't it right in front of us? It's so obvious, is there any need for you, a bad boy, and that little bastard to prick up your ears and listen!" Fatty Wang yelled angrily.

At this moment, Wu Xie slowly opened his eyes and saw a man riding a majestic red-maned horse coming against the light. The horse was like a burning flame, and the man on the horse seemed like a hero walking out of the light.

When the man got off his horse and walked towards them, Wu Xie was surprised to find that he was wearing the same clothes as Hei Xiazi - the same black leather jacket and sunglasses covering his eyes. The only difference was that this man had a neatly trimmed mustache around his lips and a bright red rope tied on his head, which swayed gently with his movements.

"Hello! Fellow travelers who are lost in this vast Northwest!" The man grinned, revealing a row of white teeth. That smile was surprisingly similar to Hei Xia Zi's, both of them looked cynical and ruffian.

"Hei...Hei Xiazi!" Wu Xie widened his eyes and looked at the man in front of him in disbelief. His voice trembled a little because he was too shocked.

"Heiye! It's really you!" Fatty Wang on the side was so excited that he rushed over and hugged the man's thigh tightly without saying a word, as if he was afraid that he would suddenly disappear. Wu Xie was not to be outdone, and quickly rushed forward to hug the other leg.

The man who was embraced so passionately by the two people obviously did not expect such a situation to happen. He was at a loss for a moment. He could only raise his hands high and stand there without daring to move.

However, what was even more exaggerated was that Fatty Wang was so excited that he couldn't help but kiss the thigh he was hugging. This action made Wu Xie very angry. He felt a chill in his heart and his stomach was churning.

"Hey Master! You don't even know! How did we get through these past few days?"

"Yes! Lord Hei! There are wolves here! We have been listening to the howling of wolves in the middle of the night these past few days!"

The two of them hugged the man's thighs tightly and began to cry and talk about the tragic events of yesterday.

“You two! You two! Please don’t get excited!” The man pushed the person on his left away and tried to push the person on his right away, but the person on the left who he had just pushed away hugged him again, leaving the man speechless.

"Two passengers! Please calm down! I am not the black man you are talking about! I am a freelance photographer in this area."

Wu Xie and Fatty Wang heard the man's words at noon. After comparing them, it seemed that he was indeed not Hei Xia Zi. They immediately let go of the man's legs, stood up quickly, and then pretended to be nothing and patted the dust that had just been collected from sitting on the ground.

Wu Xie pretended to cough twice, "Um! I'm so sorry! Because your outfit is so similar to that of a friend of ours, and we went through the same thing yesterday, and I didn't react for a while. Please forgive me, sir!"

Wu Xie's face was almost broken by laughter, but secretly he looked like he was crying: I'm dying! I'm so embarrassed! Fortunately, no one else saw this.

"Hello, brother! My name is Wang Pangpang, you can just call me Fatty. He is Wu Xie, the innocent Wu Xie." Fatty Wang tidied himself, turned around and introduced himself and Wu Xie.

"Hello, Mr. Wu and Mr. Wang! I'm the person in charge here, my name is Peng Ye!"

After learning about the two men's predicament, Peng Ye said that he could take them to a nearby sentry post to rest for a while, and then send someone to tow their exploded car over for repair.

Wu Xie and Fatty Wang were of course very willing to believe Peng Ye, but when they saw the red-maned horse that Peng Ye was riding, they began to hesitate.

"There are three of us here, but this means of transport only has..."

Of course Peng Ye knew what Wu Xie had not finished saying, so he blew a whistle, and soon two horses came running on the sand not far away.

"There are many people whose cars break down in this area, so we have been prepared for this. Although the northwest is desolate, it also has its own unique romance, doesn't it?"

Wu Xie and Fatty Wang watched Peng Ye turn over and leap onto the horse. That was something every boy couldn't refuse. When those boys were young, they grew up reading Mr. Jin's martial arts novels. They all dreamed of becoming a great hero and then going out into the world!

Peng Ye took Wu Xie and Fatty Wang to a nearby rescue station. It was not until they arrived at the rescue station that Wu Xie and Fatty Wang came back to life.

With the help of the rescue station staff, the two took a hot shower and then had a delicious meal, filling their stomachs which had only eaten a few compressed biscuits in the past few days.
