Chapter 1399 I Can't Beat You

Chapter 1399 I can't beat you guys...

The king and Ang looked around, seemingly searching for each other's location. Anthony had no choice but to shout, "Who are you? Where are you? Can you come out?"

"Who am I...? This is the first time someone has asked me this question. I..." The voice rang out, no longer the kind of consciousness fluctuation that directly reached the soul, but it stopped halfway through the sentence and then rang out again after a long while: "I just gave myself a name. I am 'Snoring'."

“Uh, hulu, that’s not a good name. Do you know what humans are?” Seeing that neither Ang nor the King intended to speak, Anthony had no choice but to continue asking.

"I know," the voice said.

“Some people can’t control their breathing when they sleep, and they make a lot of noise, which is called snoring. It’s a very annoying thing. If this is a name you just came up with, do you want to change it?” Anthony said.

"Oh, what should I call it..." the voice hesitated.

"Never mind that for now, where are you? Can you come out and meet us?" Anthony asked.

"I am right here, and you are inside my body." As the voice spoke, the surrounding mist trembled rhythmically.

Is this fog its body?

Ang suddenly pulled with both hands, but instead of pulling out the Devouring Abyss, he pulled out a ball of star flames, and then slammed his hands onto the star flames.

The ball of starlight exploded directly between Ang's hands, turning into an explosive wave that spread in all directions.

The shockwave spread through the surrounding mist, causing it to expand. Ang and the King looked up simultaneously, as if they had discovered something.

Negris, who couldn't see anything, was very anxious and quickly shared his vision with Anthony, who then followed suit.

Looking out through Ang's vision, one could see the explosion wave spreading through the mist. The mist expanded slightly, then contracted again. The explosion wave continued to spread, spread, spread, and the expanding mist contracted, contracted, contracted.

It spread far and wide, and then suddenly the mist dispersed, but instead of shrinking, it continued to diffuse with even larger gaps.

This stark change immediately outlined a silhouette—a huge, fish-shaped silhouette, larger in the front and smaller in the back, like a teardrop. But why is it described as fish-shaped? Because there are two fin-like structures on the left and right.

Is this the form of this creature?

“So this is what you look like? You look like a fish. How about you be called Fog Whale?” Anthony said.

"Fog Whale? Okay, you can call me Fog Whale, is that a good name?" Fog Whale asked.

Anthony said, "It's at least a million times better than your 'snoring' just now."

Seeing that the Fog Whale had accepted the name, Anthony had already created a mental profile for it and continued to ask, "Is this your original form? Can you shrink a little to talk to us? I can't see you like this."

“I’ll give it a try…” the fog whale said, then fell silent. After a while, the fog suddenly started to move, drifting in unison in the same direction.

The mist, as it passed by Ang and his companions, somehow avoided their positions and bypassed them.

However, this drifting lasted for two hours. The 'range' of this fog whale was simply too vast. It wasn't a physical form, but a range, possibly millions of kilometers long. Just moving its form away from Ang and the others' location took two hours.

After it finally managed to move away from its original shape, a portion of it converged forward, condensing into a cloud of smoke denser than fog, and finally transforming into a smaller, long-finned water droplet shape.

"Can you see it like this?" The voice came from the smaller fog whale.

“I see. What are you doing here?” Anthony asked.

“Protect this place, kill any creatures that come near it,” the fog whale said.

Anthony and the others exchanged bewildered glances.

“You mean, kill ‘all’ creatures that come near? Then why don’t you kill us?” Negris asked.

The fog whale honestly replied, "Because I can't beat you."

When it said "you", the fog whale's thoughts were focused on the king. It said it couldn't beat the king, but not Ang. Did it think it could beat Ang?

“Uh, so what are you guarding here?” Anthony asked.

“I can’t tell you,” the fog whale said.

"Huh? Why? You can't beat us anyway, so if we find it ourselves, will you stop us?" Anthony asked.

After a moment of silence, the Fog Whale said with some melancholy, "I can't beat you..."

It seems it wanted to stop it, but unfortunately it couldn't win. What exactly is it protecting? Just because it can't win, does it abandon it?

"Have you ever seen a hybrid of plant and animal? Has it ever been here?" Anthony asked.

The fog whale seemed to be thinking for a while before saying, "I've seen it a few times, and I killed it every time."

Several times? It seems that this strange tree was indeed deceiving them, only wanting to lure the king here to help it kill this fog whale. Unexpectedly, the fog whale was cowardly and simply gave up when it saw that it couldn't win.

And since it was able to kill the branches of the strange tree several times, its strength is probably not weak.

“If you won’t tell me what you’re protecting, then can you tell me where it is?” Anthony asked again.

"I can't tell you..." the fog whale said dejectedly.

"Can you move aside and let us find it ourselves?" Anthony asked again.

“No…” the fog whale said.

“Well…” Anthony wanted to say something, but the king said impatiently, “Just kill him, but he’s too big. I don’t know how to start.”

How can you attack a 'fog' that's millions of kilometers long? I've looked at it for a long time, but I still can't see where its core is.

Ang conjured a ball of starfire, then clapped his hands together, creating another explosion wave.

The mist whale's form had already left the location where Ang and the others were. The explosion wave spread out, directly dispersing the remaining mist and revealing the mist whale's form to everyone.

Just as Ang suddenly blew away the mist in front of him, revealing a giant beast.

"Don't fight, I can't beat you," the Fog Whale said slowly.

Before the Fog Whale could finish speaking, Ang condensed another ball of starfire and blasted it apart using the same method, creating another blast wave that spread outwards.

"What are you doing? You're not feeling well, don't..." the fog whale said uncomfortably.

Ang ignored it, condensed another ball of starfire, and smashed it again. He repeated this process until everyone realized that Ang was doing something.

“I’m not feeling well, stop,” the fog whale said.

Ang conjured another ball of starfire, but before he could take a picture, the Fog Whale finally couldn't resist and rushed over in a smaller form of smoke.

As Ang struck, he pushed forward, and the explosion wave no longer spread evenly. Instead, it shot forward along with Ang's push, directly annihilating the smoke whale's smoke form before the aftershocks continued to spread.

The mist whale's main body immediately moved, but Ang seemed to have discovered something and pulled out a devouring abyss with both hands, saying at the same time, "King, come."

After saying that, he darted forward, pushing against the Devouring Abyss.
