Chapter 50 What Does Snape Know About Quidditch?
Chapter 50 What Does Snape Know About Quidditch?
Unbeknownst to Xilun, shortly after he left, someone came from the other side of the corridor.
Snape walked up to the gargoyle, gave the command, and then went up the spiral staircase behind it to the headmaster's office.
Dumbledore was looking for something on the bookshelf when he heard the noise and turned around.
"Severus, that's rare. What brings you here?"
"I just saw Ollivander," Snape said. "So you've finally decided to fire him, haven't you?"
"I don't understand what you mean." Dumbledore turned around. "In my opinion, this is just a minor accident. Although it violated school rules, it doesn't warrant expulsion. Besides, Minerva has already taken action; she is the Head of Gryffindor."
"But what about the troll's spine?" Snape said unhurriedly. "Besides, I remember telling you before that Ollivander also bought the Red Hat Heart from Knockturn Alley."
"You bought it too," Dumbledore said, "but you are still the Head of Slytherin, Severus."
"We are different!"
"It seems to me the same," Dumbledore said, then added after a moment's thought.
"However, it is indeed inappropriate for a student to go to Knockturn Alley to buy things. Five points should be deducted from Gryffindor. Hopefully, this punishment will teach him a lesson and prevent him from going near those dangerous places again."
Snape's face was as cold as if it were covered with frost.
Five points deducted from Gryffindor? What kind of punishment is that? He deducted more than five points from Harry in just one class.
He even suspected that the Gryffindor students wouldn't even notice they had been penalized five points.
"You decide what to do." Snape was too lazy to waste any more words. "So, what's your opinion on what I brought up last time?"
"You're going to be the referee for the next Quidditch match because of Harry?"
"That idiot Potter will probably never imagine that Quirrell was the one who wanted him killed," Snape sneered, as if he were talking about a brainless troll.
"The universal antidote is not very effective. I have to get close enough to Porter to make sure the broom doesn't go out of control again."
"You don't actually need to do that." Dumbledore opened the window and glanced at the Quidditch pitch outside. "I'll be watching the next game. Quirrell wouldn't dare to pull any tricks."
Snape didn't say anything, he just stood there staring at Dumbledore...
"Alright, if you insist." Dumbledore conceded, letting out a soft sigh.
"I will tell Ms. Hodge that she will finally be able to watch the entire game from the stands without worry next time."
"A wise choice," Snape said, then turned and flew out of the headmaster's office like a giant bat, his black cloak billowing high.
He even pretended not to hear Dumbledore's words, "I hope you can be fair and just," and slammed the door shut.
……
"What did you say? Snape is going to be a referee?" The Gryffindor common room erupted in chaos when Oliver Wood announced the news.
Now nobody paid attention to Xilun anymore; everyone flocked there in droves.
Smashing the dorm last night, skipping class this morning—even Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class—this series of actions has made Sherren a prominent figure in Gryffindor.
Despite his repeated explanations that he wasn't skipping class, it was no use.
Fortunately, the team members returned at this time. All the things like smashing up the dorm and skipping classes immediately became insignificant in the face of Quidditch.
"Are you kidding me? When has he ever been a Quidditch referee?"
"This is a conspiracy; he will definitely not deliver a fair verdict."
"Let's go and protest to Professor McGonagall."
"It's no use, this was the principal's decision!"
"What do we do then, just lose the game like this?"
"There must be other ways. At least if we follow the rules, he won't have any excuse to cause trouble."
Everyone was discussing what to do, but Xilun didn't join in. Instead, he secretly returned to his dormitory by himself.
This would prevent these people from realizing what was happening and from saying anything frightening, like urging him to lead the overthrow of Minerva McGonagall.
Although he wanted to learn Animagus transformations, he did not want to become some kind of animal in another way.
The chatter in the Gryffindor common room continued until midnight, but the competition started as scheduled on Saturday afternoon of the third day.
Since Xilun had nothing to do this time, he planned to go watch the game with the others.
As he sat down in the audience, Celen suddenly heard Hermione's voice from his right.
"Remember, it's when your legs freeze and you die. Don't forget that."
"I know," Ron said impatiently. "Stop nagging."
"Hmm?" Xilun turned his head.
"For the sake of fairness in the competition," Hermione explained quietly after noticing Siron's puzzled expression, "We discussed it last night, and if Snape shows any sign of wanting to harm Harry, we'll use the Leg-Locking Charm on him."
"Attack a professor? Do you think Hogwarts won't expel students easily?" Siren shook his head and said, "I understand your thoughts, but there's no need. Look who that person is."
After he finished speaking, he pointed to the stands where the teacher was.
"Dumbledore!" Ron almost shouted. "Dumbledore's here to watch the game too! That's great! With him here, no one can hurt Harry!"
The two breathed a sigh of relief and simultaneously took out the wands they had hidden in their sleeves.
And just as Ron had expected, Harry's broom never had any problems until the end of the match.
However, it's also possible that there wasn't enough time to employ any schemes or tricks, because the match lasted less than five minutes from start to finish, and Xilun hadn't even finished his third roasted walnut yet.
After the cheers that echoed through the Quidditch stadium subsided, people began to leave one after another.
As he walked between the castle and the Quidditch pitch, Celen's gaze remained fixed in one direction.
"What are you looking at?" Neville asked curiously.
"That one!" Xilun pointed to a huge willow tree near the greenhouse, much taller than ordinary willow trees, with a gnarled and rough trunk full of power.
The Whomping Willow is one of the most precious magical plants in the magical world.
Previously he was a little embarrassed, but now, after half a school year, Xilun has finally started to set his sights on this old tree.
I'm so bored.
After completing that two-foot wand, Celen always lacked the enthusiasm to make ordinary wands, as if she had lost her original passion.
Yesterday afternoon I had no classes, and Xilun originally planned to use up the red cap heart I bought before, but I only made two. After that, I couldn't concentrate, which led to a higher and higher failure rate.
In the end, Xiren even had the idea of whether or not to do his homework... He actually thought of doing his homework while making the wand!
this is too scary.
So after feeding all the remaining materials to Tom, Siron decided to find himself a new goal.
