Chapter 105: They've got something going on~
The student council president's sudden change to a stern demeanor startled Lucy and the others.
No one dared to slack off, and they all used their magic to get to work, starting to clean up the scene in a flurry of activity.
"By the way, what kind of guild is the guild leader planning to build? Will it stay the same as before?"
Macao used magic to lift a heavy stone slab and throw it into the lake, muttering something to himself with a hint of curiosity.
"No, the new guild will be very large. During the time it was under the control of the council, the guild leader already had some initial ideas."
Mira smiled and pulled out a draft drawing, confidently displaying it to everyone.
Marcao peeked out and was immediately shocked by the abstract sketch that looked like a little kid's doodle.
"Oh? You already have the design drawings?"
Gray, carrying the planks, walked by and glanced at them curiously. "Huh? What kind of design is this? What idiot drew this?!"
Upon hearing this, Mira's sweet smile froze instantly, and the next second, she covered her face and burst into tears.
"It's Mira!" Gray panicked on the spot.
"Hey, that's really awful, Gray, you made her cry."
"That's terrible, he has absolutely no manners."
Amidst the pointing and whispering of his companions, Gray became even more flustered and frantically tried to calm them down.
Just then, a figure walked over from the side.
Chase reached out and took the sketch from Mira's arms, examining it closely.
"Hmm—a grand castle-like building, a spacious bar, a pedestrianized food street surrounding it, and an outdoor swimming pool. It looks like a pretty good new guild."
"Gray, are you an idiot? It's drawn in such detail, how can you not understand?!"
Mira's beautiful eyes, which had been glistening with tears, suddenly lit up with joy: Chase understood! He had stayed up all night to draw the design based on the president's description!
"Hey, Chess, are you serious?" Gremacao and the others were greatly shocked.
Not far away, Lucy and Nazhabi huddled together, looking rather sneaky.
"Wait a minute, is that Chesgo really that understanding? Normally, shouldn't he be the one laughing the loudest?"
"If it's Lucy, then it's definitely her!" Natsu nodded emphatically.
"—What do you mean by 'if it were me,' as a girl, my mental resilience is also very weak, okay?!"
After saying that, the family of three looked at each other and simultaneously said in a slurred manner, "They're having an affair~"
This little incident was thus resolved.
By the time everyone had completely cleaned up the area, it was already late afternoon and the sun had set.
All the other girls had returned to their dormitories or their own residences, leaving only Makarov, Mira, and a few others.
They are still discussing the details of building the new guild and the order in which various material suppliers will arrive, in preparation for the official start of construction tomorrow.
Lucy, exhausted, began her journey back to her rented apartment.
It was still that dangerous riverbank, still that kind-hearted boatman giving a warning, and still that trembling Canis Major Prud was following behind.
"I heard from those people in the council that the Phantoms, who started the war, will basically only be disbanded. It's great that this is the outcome."
"Chesco is really strong. He fought the Ghost Guild Master of the Ten Wizard Saints to that extent. Erza and Mira also seemed to have easily defeated the four elements of the opponent."
"There was also one person who wiped out all the Phantom Lords's branches, though he disappeared as soon as he left the base."
"If it weren't for everyone in the guild, I might have—"
As if speaking to Pru behind her, or perhaps talking to herself, Lucy's gaze gradually hardened.
"To prevent things from harming everyone from happening again, we have to cut ties with that man completely..."
From the moment she decided to respond to everyone's feelings and stay at Fairy Tail, she had already made up her mind:
I absolutely must go back to that cold home and show my determination to my biological father, Jude Heartfilia!
"But before that, let's go back to our long-missed rented room and take a long-missed hot shower. We haven't been able to relax at all these past few days at the base."
Just as Lucy eagerly pushed open the door to her rented room, unsurprisingly, the room lights came on.
"Hey Lucy, you're back!"
Lying flat on the pink bed, Natsu greeted everyone with a grin.
"Lucy is so slow, Natsu and I have already finished showering."
Harpy muttered something, then turned back to continue sharpening his claws on the stone pillar.
Lucy: "—"
After a two-and-a-half-second pause, the cute girl transformed into a demon from hell, violently throwing her suitcase away: "This is my house!!!"
thump!
The suitcase hit Natsu and Happy with pinpoint accuracy, smashing them both until they coughed up blood and embedded them in the cracked wall like ornaments, completing a double kill.
The scene changes.
Lucy reluctantly pushed the two cups of tea in front of Natsu and Happy, who had huge bags on their heads: "Hurry up and drink them, then go back to your own homes!"
"Lucy is so heartless. She knows our house is in the forest outside the city, and she still wants to send us back so late."
"Exactly! We were exhausted after cleaning up the guild ruins, and they showed absolutely no compassion. And they still call themselves teammates—."
Natsu and Happy didn't accept the tea; instead, they turned the tables and started criticizing Lucy.
"Don't make me sound so cruel!"
Seeing their pitiful expressions, kind-hearted Lucy immediately softened. Her eyes lit up, and she suggested, "By the way, you could go find Chess! His house is spacious enough!"
"No way! I'm not free at Chess's place. I'm always at risk of getting beaten up, and I have to pay for anything I break." Natsu pouted.
"We can't use walls to maintain our claws either."
Habi went even further, walking over to the nearest wall to demonstrate.
"So you mean you don't have to pay compensation from me, huh?! You dead cat, get your stinking claws off me!!"
Lucy's lips twitched violently, and a large "并" appeared on her forehead.
"Hmm? It sounds like you guys have a lot of opinions about me, Nazhabi."
The sudden familiar voice startled Natsu and Happy, who quickly covered their mouths.
Looking up, I saw that Chess and the Dark Magician Girl had jumped out of the window of the rented house and stepped onto the desk to get to the living room.
"Couldn't you have come in in a more normal way?"
Looking at the desk with footprints on it, Lucy said wearily, "My house has a door!"
As for why Chase and the Dark Magician Girl would come at this time, she was completely used to it.
"Ah, Lucy, I'm so sorry, I just saw your window was open and didn't want to go out of my way." The dark magician girl scratched her head apologetically.
"That's not right. I remember that when we moved to the Council's residence, all the doors and windows were locked." Lucy frowned.
She quickly pieced together the events of the incident: that was definitely the route Natsu and Happy took when they broke into the house!
"Haha, don't worry about such a small thing."
Compared to Dark Magician Girl's relatively polite apology, Chase seemed much more casual, walking straight over and picking up the tea to drink.
"...That's my teacup!"
Watching Chase put the empty teacup back in its place, Lucy sighed heavily, rubbing her forehead. "Never mind, Chase, you came over so late, you probably didn't just come here for tea, did you?"
The dark magician girl smiled mysteriously, answering for Chase:
"Of course not, Lucy! Your master brought you something nice!"
