Chapter 163 Investigating Everything About the Locked Room
Chapter 163 Investigating Everything About the Locked Room
"Senior Ayers, are you alright?" Harry asked, looking at me with concern.
"I've been raising that child since I enrolled in school." The words were heartbreaking, bringing tears to the eyes of all who heard them; they were truly pitiful.
"Ayers, are you alright?" Fred had also heard about my cat and immediately came over to ask how I was doing.
“My cat…” I said in a low voice, leaning directly onto Fred’s shoulder and burying my face in his shoulder. Actually, I did this to avoid revealing my true feelings, because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to control my expression.
"It's okay, it's okay," George said, no longer clinging to me, and gently patted my back to comfort me.
When my group saw how upset I was, they didn't know how to comfort me.
"Ayers!" Draco had been quite amused by Professor McGonagall's description of the Chamber of Secrets and had even mocked the three little ones, but he never expected that his roommate's cat would be the first to suffer.
Although Draco didn't have much of an impression of Ayers' cat, he didn't want anything to happen to it.
“He’s heartbroken, and we don’t know how to comfort him.” Cedric was heartbroken; it was the first time he’d encountered a situation like mine, and they were all at a loss.
"I'm fine now, Draco, did you need something?" Know when to stop acting, lest you give yourself away.
"I heard about the Moon's petrification and came to see you because I knew you must be upset." Draco didn't care what the people surrounding me thought; he cared about me too.
"It's alright, I trust Professor Snape. I think he'll take good care of Mingyue for me." Severus originally didn't want to help me take care of Mingyue, but after I explained Mingyue's current condition to him, he agreed to give him a place to sleep.
"Should we discuss what exactly happened in that secret room?" Harry felt that the most important thing now was to find out the truth about the secret room.
Suddenly everyone looked in Draco's direction.
"Why are you all staring at me? I don't know anything about the secret chamber either," Draco said speechlessly, looking at the group in front of him.
"Aren't you from Slytherin? Don't you know who could open Salazar Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets?" Ron retorted to Draco in a very unfriendly manner.
"Ron, have you forgotten that I'm also a Slytherin? Hmm?" I smiled amicably at Ron, who spoke without thinking.
"Sorry, Ayers, I forgot for a moment." Ron, knowing how terrifying I was, immediately apologized.
"Why are you all so sure I know who opened the secret room?" Draco found it strange. He didn't think he had said or done anything wrong, so why did the Gryffindors all assume he knew something?
"Didn't they say that only those with pure blood can open that secret room? Aren't you always talking about pure blood?" Oliver asked curiously.
“We, the members of the Twenty-Four Families, are all of pure blood, okay? Apart from the Malfoy family, it seems that members of the other families can also open the secret chamber,” Draco analyzed, leaving everyone speechless.
“The problem now is, where exactly is the secret room? It seems like nobody knows how it was opened, or where the entrance is.” Percy joined the discussion.
Watching the group of people deep in thought and discussion, I smiled to myself with satisfaction. What a wonderful atmosphere this school has! Look, Slytherin and Gryffindor can still get along amicably, can't they?
“Ayers, you’re the smartest. Do you have any good suggestions?” Hermione suddenly remembered my wisdom and asked me what advice I had.
“First, Draco, you can ask your father about the Chamber of Secrets; then Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the three of you can ask Hagrid, he's been at Hogwarts for so long, he might know something; finally, the rest of us can go to the library and look up some information.” I assigned tasks to everyone so that the investigation would be more efficient and we could find out what happened more quickly.
“Okay, let’s go find out about Hagrid.” Hermione thought this division of labor was really clear, and immediately pulled Harry and Ron to run to find Hagrid.
"Wait, Hermione~" I grabbed the three of them, and they turned around curiously to look at me, wondering why I was stopping them.
"Take a look at the time. It's almost time for supper. We should go to the hall or auditorium to eat now. We can ask about anything else tomorrow." I grabbed Fred and George by the arm and led them to eat. Everyone thought what I said made a lot of sense.
And so our group changed again. I walked in front, with Fred on one side, Percy and Oliver next to Fred, and George and Cedric on the other side. Behind us were the three little ones and Draco walking alone.
This is definitely a scene that will turn heads 100%.
However, after we all entered the Great Hall, Draco went to the Slytherin table and sat down by himself. We all sat down at the Gryffindor table. None of us were in a good mood today, especially after learning about my cat's accident. We didn't want to say anything more during the meal, and everyone ate their food quietly.
After eating, everyone quickly went back to their dorms, planning to rest up tonight so they could do the things I had arranged for them tomorrow and help me out.
Draco, on the other hand, accompanied me back to my dorm and kept comforting me.
I didn't seem particularly unhappy, so I just went back to my dorm, washed up, and went to bed early.
Draco felt a little relieved to see me like this, so he washed up and went to bed early. He had already planned to write a letter to his father as soon as he got up the next day to ask about the situation in the Chamber of Secrets.
