The legendary Guardians are powerful magical weapons created by Dalaran. The Dalaran Council does possess this technology, but they can only artificially create one Guardian.
Arcane Intellect cannot increase a mage's maximum mana. Why would Mr. Rhodes have such an idea?
Upon hearing this, Rhodes was slightly disappointed. Well, it seems that skills in the game are indeed different from those in reality.
“If Mr. Rhodes needs to conduct some magical research, I can directly teach you this spell, and you can cast it on yourself in the future,” Jaina said.
Just then, a system notification sounded in Rhodes' mind.
You met a young female mage during your travels. You had a pleasant conversation with her, and she plans to teach you a special spell. Would you like to copy it down in your magic book?
Holy crap! Is this even possible?
Without saying a word, Rhodes nodded in agreement, and a red magic book suddenly appeared in Rhodes's hand.
“Then I’ll trouble you, Lady Jaina. Please tell me how to cast Arcane Wisdom! I will write it down,” Rhodes said, nodding.
Jaina wasn't puzzled when she saw the spellbook suddenly appear in Rhodes' hand. Mages usually have some kind of spatial magic bag. For example, her travel bag looked small, but it had a lot of space inside and could hold a lot of things.
Next, Jaina began to explain in detail how to use Arcane Wisdom, and then told Rhodes the incantation.
In fact, the principle of spellcasting in Azeroth is to connect one's mind to the magical network of Azeroth and then cast spells through mathematical calculations.
However, Rhodes, who possesses a spellbook, can learn magic in a simple and direct way: he can simply copy the spells into the spellbook and use them.
After a period of in-depth communication, you have successfully copied the Arcane Intellect spell. Consuming 1 mana point, cast Arcane Intellect on yourself!
Gain an additional 5 mana points for the next day. This spell can only be used once per day. It is a basic water spell and you will enjoy water spell bonuses.
Basic water magic can be used twice a day, intermediate water magic increases the maximum mana by 10 points, and advanced water magic can be used three times a day and increases the maximum mana by 20 points.
This trick is incredibly useful! Exchanging one point of mana for five points of mana is definitely a winning deal.
Most importantly, it can also enjoy the bonus of water magic, so the previous Frostbolt should also enjoy the bonus of water magic, right? There's even Holy Light Flash.
Rhodes checked and, as he expected, Frostbolt could also benefit from water magic. Basic water magic allowed Frostbolt to be cast up to one point, while mana only required 15 casts.
Intermediate water magic can increase the damage of Frostbolt by 25%, while advanced water magic can increase it by 50%, and one point of mana can cast 20 Frostbolts.
The spell Flash of Light can be enhanced by air magic, initially increasing healing effects and dealing 15% more damage to demons and undead.
Intermediate Holy Light Flash can increase its power by 30%, while advanced air magic will increase its power by 50%.
If one's own spellbook can copy arcane wisdom, then can other professions also use their spellbooks to copy it as long as the other party is willing to teach them?
This smells amazing! Isn't it even better than Eagle Eye?
“This is the principle of Arcane Intelligence’s spellcasting. Mr. Rhodes, if there’s anything you don’t understand, please let me know,” Jaina said.
“Thank you for your instruction, Miss Gina. I have learned this magic,” Rhodes said.
"It's alright, I'm glad I could help you. Wait, Mr. Rhodes, you said you've already learned it." The female mage suddenly widened her eyes, staring at Rhodes in disbelief.
Rhodes smiled and nodded, then consumed one mana point to cast Arcane Wisdom on himself, increasing his maximum mana by 5 points. Rhodes now had 18 mana points.
Seeing that Rhodes had actually succeeded in unleashing arcane intelligence, Jaina felt a sense of unreality.
Did you make a mistake!
You learned this spell after only hearing my explanation once? Is learning spells that easy for you?
He was already quite talented, a rare genius, but when he learned Arcane Wisdom, it took him several days to understand it and several more days to successfully unleash it.
This is a bit of a blow! Damn it, did this guy know this spell before?
"..." The female mage remained silent, clearly feeling somewhat withdrawn; it was too discouraging.
"Gina, what are you and Lord Rhodes talking about? We're about to depart," Arthas said, walking over with a smile.
Seeing his beloved so intimate with another man made Arthas feel a little uncomfortable, but he still maintained a polite smile.
"Arthas, I'm discussing learning some magic with Mr. Rhodes," Jaina smiled and told Arthas what had happened.
Rhodes' eyes lit up when he saw Arthas; wasn't this his blessing of wisdom coming?
I need to really take advantage of this, and learn the skills of selling my dad and being a filial son.
Chapter 11 Arrival in Andorhal, Kel'Thuzad
Arthas breathed a long sigh of relief after hearing this. He was really afraid that Jaina would miss him again for some reason. It turned out that the two were discussing magic. It seemed that he had been worrying for nothing.
Arthas smiled politely at Rhodes, then quickly took out several small blue-green potions from his backpack and handed them to Rhodes.
As an employer, he should provide Rhodes with resources such as magical potions, as is basic etiquette for a prince.
“Lord Rhodes, if you need to restore your mana, I have some purification potions you can try,” Arthas said.
Although paladins are melee classes, they also consume mana. Paladins have many spells, so they usually carry some potions to replenish mana.
“I also have a few mana restoration potions here, Mr. Rhodes. You can try them too. They are the masterpiece of a master from Quel'Thalas.” Jaina also took out a large bottle of blue magic potion from her backpack and handed it to Rhodes.
This was the best mana potion she had; it was given to her by a prince when she left Dalaran.
To be honest, Prince Kael'thas was indeed very good to her, but unfortunately, there was no possibility between humans and high elves, as the lifespans of the two races were simply too different!
"In that case, thank you both very much. I really need something to restore my mana right now." Rhodes nodded and accepted the magic potions they offered, first taking a small potion of clarity.
The small bottle of purification potion is blue-green in color. After taking it, your blue bar will slowly recover over a certain period of time.
After taking the potion, Rhodes immediately felt a surge of clarity in his mind. The effect of this small bottle of purification potion allowed him to recover a small amount of mana within an hour.
The effects of this small vial of potion only last for two hours, which means it can restore a maximum of two mana points—better than nothing!
If you have enough, it's quite good; it's definitely a great way to restore mana when you're not in combat.
However, if he's traveling, he'll have enough mana to fully recover. As for the mana potions Jaina gave him, they're very powerful, and Rhode plans to use them during battle.
“Prince Arthas, I remember that paladins have a very special spell called Blessing of Wisdom.”
"It can restore mana. I wonder if you could cast it for me? Or perhaps I could learn this spell?" Rhodes said.
“Well, Lord Rhodes, I…” Arthas’s expression was somewhat off.
“Is there some difficulty, Lord Arthas? If so, that’s fine; these mana potions are sufficient.” Rhodes said.
"It's not Lord Rhodes, I'll just tell you the truth!"
Although I am a paladin, I do not have a large number of holy light spells.
There are only a few, and Blessing of Wisdom is a spell that a high-ranking paladin can cast.
"I'm sorry! I can't use that skill. I can't even use blessing skills like Blessing of Kings, Blessing of Freedom, or Blessing of Might. I'm not a support-type paladin," Arthas said, somewhat tactfully.
In his childhood, he did not receive paladin training from the beginning; he was trained in martial arts by the dwarf Muradin Bronzebeard.
They had always followed the path of warriors until the Second War, when the human paladins were born and the Silver Knights were established. The paladins displayed overwhelming power far exceeding that of warriors.
The Paladin class became very popular among humans, and the father changed his mind, making Uther, one of the first Paladins, his mentor and beginning to teach him the Way of the Holy Light.
However, Arthas's fighting style still leans towards that of a warrior, following the path of a retribution paladin!
While Holy Light spells are universal, he is still slightly inferior to a Paladin specializing in Holy Light. For example, he cannot use group healing, reviving the severely wounded, or certain protective spells. (Some resurrection spells in Azeroth, such as Redemption or Resurrection, can only heal the severely wounded and cannot truly resurrect them.)
"I see!"
"How about this! After this mission is over, we defeat the Cult of the Damned and kill the necromancer Kel'Thuzad, Mr. Rhodes, if you'd like!"
"I can take you to the headquarters of the Knights of the Silver Hand to meet my mentor, Uther. You have also studied the power of the Holy Light, and my mentor, Uther, is the most powerful paladin in the Alliance," Arthas said.
Rhodes nodded, and after a few more polite words, the group packed their belongings and headed towards Andorhal.
On the way to Andorhal, several small human forces came to join Arthas.
Even some defeated soldiers who had encountered the undead joined Arthas's army, and by the time they reached the vicinity of Andorhal, their total number had reached more than 100.
Upon arriving in Andorhal, Arthas witnessed three members of the Cult of the Damned corrupting a gold mine.
“These evil heretics are trying to pollute this gold mine. Drive them away!”
At Arthas's command, he led his human soldiers forward and quickly killed several cultists.
“We can set up a temporary camp here and then use it as a base to march towards Andorhal, which should already be completely occupied by the undead,” Arthas said.
Everyone nodded in agreement and instructed some of the accompanying farmers to set up a makeshift camp there to house the wounded soldiers and the rescued civilians.
Arthas, Jaina, and their group led an elite force to attack the undead base, while the remaining militia were left behind to protect civilians and search for survivors.
Along the way, the group saw a large number of undead creatures, including zombies, skeletons, and ghouls.
Soon the group arrived at a barn, which showed obvious signs of plague infection, and all the surrounding grain had already been transported away.
A man holding a staff, wearing a ram's skull mask and a gray-green robe, was directing the surrounding members of the Cult of the Damned.
"Oh, you're too late, young prince. The grain here has already been taken away, and soon the plague will spread throughout Lordaeron. The great Scourge will sweep across your country," Kel'Thuzad said with a sneer.
"You despicable bastard, I won't let you succeed! Did you establish the Cult of the Damned and the Scourge?" Arthas roared.
"I did indeed establish the Cult of the Damned, but the Scourge is subordinate to the dreadlord Mal'Ganis!" Kel'Thuzad openly revealed the mastermind behind it all.
Chapter 12 Battle Against the Undead, Heroes and Magic Unleash Their Power
“Malganis? A demon? Is this the master behind you blasphemers?” Arthas chewed on the unfamiliar name, a surge of anger burning in his chest.
“Indeed, Your Highness,” Kel'Thuzad’s voice carried a hint of mockery.
"He is the true ruler of the Scourge, and I am merely a humble executor, spreading the great plague to pave the way for the rise of the dead."
Your struggles are futile; mortals will ultimately succumb to eternal darkness!
“Archmage Kel'Thuzad, you were once a member of the Kirin Tor Council of Six in Dalaran. How could you stoop so low as to serve a demon? It’s utterly despicable,” Jaina, standing to the side, said.
Kel'Thuzad was slightly surprised by this, as he hadn't expected the young female mage to recognize him.
To be honest, he looked a bit disheveled, wearing a tattered robe, holding a broken staff, wearing a sheep skull mask, and not even wearing shoes.
If the former Dalaran mage had seen me, he would never have associated me with Kel'Thuzad. However, since I had introduced myself, it wouldn't be a problem for the other party to know my information.
"Heh! I'm just on the path of pursuing eternity. You mortals can't possibly understand how powerful the magic I possess is."
"Shut up, traitor! Your blasphemy ends here! For Lordaeron! Attack!" Arthas roared, and holy light suddenly erupted from the warhammer [Might of Menethil] in his hand, the brilliant holy light dispelling the gloom around the barn.
At the prince's command, the elite soldiers of Lordaeron roared and surged like a tidal wave toward the followers of the Cult of the Damned and the undead creatures that staggered and gathered around them.
Kel'Thuzad sneered and waved his staff. Some of the corpses around him instantly revived, along with skeletons and zombies. A large number of ghouls also crawled out from the surrounding area, and more than a dozen abominations, each over three meters tall and with ugly faces, joined the battle.
