Chapter 64: Exposed!
Chapter 64: Exposed!
"Erza, I bet Gray and Natsu are over there by the river. Go check it out."
Although he was speechless, Moen made the right decision: he first tried to get Erza away from him.
"Oh yeah! How come I didn't think of that?! Thank you, Moen!"
Little Erza clapped her hands, looking very much in agreement.
Natsu and Gray often go to the river in the city to have one-on-one fights. If you go there to find them, you can usually find them without fail.
After thanking Moen, little Erza ran off quickly. She had been looking for those two bastards for a long time and was finally about to find them!
"..."
Seeing Moen's actions, Lucy and Erza exchanged glances. Although little Erza had been sent away, they did not feel relieved, but rather had a deeper worry.
"Ladies, I really can't pretend I didn't see the guild crests on your bodies. They don't look like they were drawn by yourselves."
Under the worried gazes of Lucy and Erza, Moen slowly spoke, uttering words that startled both of them.
"Forehead......"
Erza's gaze fell on the pink emblem on the back of Lucy's right hand.
"Forehead......"
Lucy's gaze fell on the dark gray emblem on Erza's left shoulder.
"Could you please explain this? This is out of consideration for the reputation of the Fairy Tail guild. Using the Fairy Tail name to commit wrongdoing will be severely punished."
Moen continued speaking slowly, giving Lucy and Erza ample time to think.
'Keep making things up, let's see what else you can come up with.'
Moen thought to himself, he was curious to see what outrageous stories these two could come up with.
"Sorry, Moen! We're both huge fans of the Fairy Tail guild! That's why we got this guild crest; we didn't mean to impersonate guild mages!"
Under Moen's scrutiny, Lucy bowed deeply at a ninety-degree angle and sincerely apologized, but the words she blurted out in her haste caused Moen's expression to falter.
"..."
Erza, standing to the side, looked utterly dejected.
It has to be said that habits are really hard to overcome; she and Lucy have already revealed their own mistakes several times.
After Lucy realized what she had just said, her expression immediately turned ashen.
"You two... especially you..."
Moen opened his mouth, but in the end he looked at Catwoman Erza. There was no way he could tell; he really didn't recognize the other one.
"Is that Erza?"
Moen's question seemed to silence the air.
At this moment, Lucy and Erza both had expressions that said, "Just as I thought," "Destroy it, I'm tired," and "It would be strange if we weren't seen through." Their feelings were very complicated; they were shocked, yet it also seemed to make perfect sense.
"Erza after she grew up? That should be right, right?"
Moen then spoke up, choosing to expose them completely. To be honest, if he wanted to complete this mission, he couldn't think of any other way to do it without revealing their true colors.
He couldn't just sit around doing nothing, could he? Although Natsu, Gray, Erza, and other important characters in the Saint Seiya system were unlikely to be ruined by this, Moen was unwilling to gamble on that probability.
He would rather make a mistake than do nothing.
In comparison, he would definitely regret doing nothing more.
"Why...why do you say that?!"
Erza stammered, still wanting to struggle on desperately, unwilling to admit her identity so easily.
"First of all, they look very alike, isn't that obvious? Secondly, with your two completely wrong answers... I really don't know how I can believe either of you..."
Moen complained that he really didn't expect Erza to be so clueless even after growing up, just like when she was a child. She was unreliable in every way.
Of course, this could also be due to the suddenness of the event. If Erza had been given enough time to prepare, she might not have done it this way.
In the future "Fairy Tail", the atmosphere doesn't seem to have any problems, because Erza's personality is almost the same as before, and she obviously hasn't experienced any major shocks.
"..."
Erza and Lucy fell silent again.
The two looked at each other and saw helplessness in each other's eyes.
"It has to be you, Moen."
Erza sighed, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She was filled with emotion, thinking that Moen was still the same Moen after all.
"No wonder he's the author of Sherlock Holmes!"
Lucy couldn't help but sigh, and she inadvertently said something that made Moen's eyelids twitch.
"Sherlock Holmes... Is that the title I gave to that book?"
Moen asked, looking speechless.
Mohn must admit that he is indeed now working on a book, and it is indeed a heavily modified version of the Sherlock Holmes story.
However, the title "The Great Detective Sherlock Holmes" still felt a bit awkward to him, so he changed it to a pun, which worked...
However, after thinking about it carefully, Mo En realized that this name was actually quite good. The title was mainly for his own entertainment, and others would not be able to understand the story contained within it.
"ah?!"
Lucy covered her mouth and screamed in fright.
"Has the book title not been decided yet?!"
Lucy asked with a distressed expression. She really didn't mean it; she thought Moen had already decided on the book title.
"Well, there's no need to apologize. I think the title is great."
Moen smiled and gave Lucy a surprising answer.
'Could it be... that I actually came up with the title "Sherlock Holmes"?!'
Lucy's face was blank, her heart was pounding, and she was in a strange state, her mind filled with this matter.
"Lucy! Wake up! Have you forgotten what I said?! We can't interfere too much in the past!"
It wasn't until Erza shook Lucy's body vigorously that Lucy gradually recovered. Her excitement subsided, replaced by a wave of lingering fear.
"I...I didn't mean to!"
Lucy clutched her head, looking like she had made a terrible mistake.
"Don't be so nervous, this title is indeed what I would have thought of."
Seeing Lucy's expression, Moen comforted her. He wasn't joking; the book title was clearly something only he could have come up with.
"So...you two really are from the future, right?"
After calming everyone down, Moen continued, "Now we can all have a completely open and honest talk."
