Chapter 180 Test Successful
A week later, the Quidditch pitch was still cold, but the atmosphere was completely different. Slytherin and Hufflepuff players clashed fiercely in the air, while on the edge of the pitch, members of the Cursed Club nervously observed three fully upgraded "Quidditch Record Eye" devices.
They were smaller than before, hovering on specially designed anti-interference bases, their lenses shimmering faintly. Most importantly, on the field, each player's broom had a tiny, detachable device installed at the end. It could be attached during matches and removed during training. Currently, these devices were continuously emitting signals representing their respective houses—Slytherin's dark green, Hufflepuff's yellow and black, and the Golden Snitch's colors to distinguish them.
Karen was in charge of overall control and core data flow monitoring. The crystal sphere in front of him operated stably, and the parchment projector beside him clearly displayed the real-time dynamics of the entire match: fourteen different colored dots moved at high speed above the court, tracing smooth trajectories. The Quaffle's passing routes were clearly visible. The black dots representing the running ball were marked with red ripples representing the impact force, faithfully recording every fierce strike. And the Golden Snitch's faint golden trajectory, although still intermittent, showed a qualitative leap in the stability of its player tracking!
"Eye of Recording No. 1, tracking core stable, environmental interference filtering normal!"
"Record Eye II: Perfectly synchronized perspective, smooth motion capture data!"
"Record Eye No. 3, Golden Snitch signal successfully captured! Track recording initiated!"
The voices of Creon, Richard, and Daisy kept coming through.
Edgar stood beside Cullen, rubbing his hands excitedly, his eyes glued to the intricate diagrams constantly forming on the parchment: "It's so clear! Look at this! That Slytherin Chaser, his pass just now clearly seemed to be intentionally blocking the Hufflepuff Beater! The timestamps and directions of movement at the intersections of the trajectory lines match perfectly!"
Just then, a chorus of boos and arguments erupted from the field. Slytherin's batter, Cedric, had not aimed his Quake at Hufflepuff's Chaser, but instead, with a clearly malicious arc, slammed it into Hufflepuff's Seeker, Cedric, who was trying to intercept the Quake! Cedric managed to dodge with excellent reflexes, but his broom's tail fin was grazed, causing him to lurch violently.
"Foul! Malicious attack on the Seeker!" Hedgehog captain Cattermole roared angrily at Mrs. Hodge, who was acting as referee.
Madam Huoqi flew over on her broom, but hesitated for a moment, as her view had indeed been blocked.
"Quick! Retrieve the recording from camera number three! The magical waveform and the trajectory of the ball at the moment of Puse's hit!" Karen immediately ordered.
Richard acted swiftly, the device he was in charge of capturing the entire moment from the perfect angle. A magnified image of Pluse's swing was rapidly projected onto the parchment, the accompanying magic waveform clearly showing an unusual spike—a deliberate attempt to add power! Simultaneously, the trajectory of the wandering ball extended from Pluse's bat, targeting Cedric, not any Hufflepuff chaser! The trajectory also displayed values representing speed and impact, far exceeding the normal interception force compared to Slytherin's previous, normal interception data.
"Professor!" Karen handed a copy of the parchment containing key data to Mrs. Hodge, who flew over. "The record shows that Puse's magic output when hitting the ball showed signs of deliberate amplification. The trajectory of the ball was clearly aimed at Diggory, and the impact force exceeded the safety threshold, constituting a malicious foul."
Lady Hodge carefully examined the irrefutable data and clear magical trajectory diagrams on the parchment, then glanced at Puse's somewhat guilty expression and Cattermore's angry face. She decisively blew her whistle, pointing towards the Slytherin goal: "Violence! Hufflepuff penalty!"
On the sidelines, Slytherin captain Flint's face instantly turned ashen. He glared fiercely at Puse, then at Cullen and the direction of the Eye of Record device. Meanwhile, cheers erupted from the Hufflepuff side.
The match continued. Under the watchful eye of the "record camera," the players seemed to have toned it down a bit, but some of Slytherin's "dirty tricks" persisted: subtly pulling their robes to distract the opposing player's view, "unintentional" collisions with the broomstick tails, and using their bodies to obstruct the referee's view while shoving. These were all captured by the record camera from different angles, transformed into clear time differences at the intersection points of the trajectories.
Recordings and motion capture footage of unusual magical fluctuations.
As the whistle blew to end the training match, the members of the Spells Club, forgetting to celebrate Hufflepuff's narrow victory, immediately gathered around the equipment to begin exporting and analyzing the data. The shelter was once again filled with parchment containing various pieces of information.
"Look at this amount of data!" Creon exclaimed, his eyes gleaming as he held up a thick stack of records. "The average player movement speed, sprint frequency, number of sharp turns, and tactical positioning network are more than ten times clearer than before!"
"The distribution of hitting points and the statistics of force of the wandering ball are extremely useful for studying batters' techniques and developing defensive strategies!" Richard pointed to the heat map of the wandering ball's trajectory.
Daisy excitedly showed off the motion capture data: "Look at Cedric's emergency evasive maneuver! The change in the broom's angle and posture..."
The instantaneous burst of magical power – perfect! This is the quality of a top-tier Seeker!
Edgar, holding a parchment summarizing several of Slytherin's fouls, wore a smile that was a mixture of excitement and mischievousness: "Guys, look at these! Covert pulling, malicious bumping, obstructing vision—Slytherin really went along with it, providing us with such a wealth of teaching examples! I propose that we use these 'classic cases' from Slytherin as a blueprint to prioritize developing an auxiliary function for the Eye of Record: 'Flint Standard Library'! I've even thought of a name: how about 'Flint Standard Library'?" He winked mischievously.
A burst of knowing laughter erupted inside the shed.
"Great idea, Edgar!"
"Great! Let's use this standard library as the basis for our rulings!"
"Thank you, Slytherin, for your selfless dedication!"
Karen couldn't help but smile. Looking at his energetic and intelligent partners and the complex data on the parchment representing success and the future, he felt a great sense of accomplishment.
"Alright," Professor Flitwick's voice rang with laughter as he clapped his hands, "today's results were outstanding! The debut of the Record Eye broom version was a resounding success! As for the 'Flint Standard Library,' well, a very constructive suggestion. But now," he glanced at the darkening sky and falling snowflakes outside the window, "let's pack up and go back to properly organize this valuable data. Christmas is almost here, I think..."
This is one of the best Christmas gifts we could give to Hogwarts Quidditch!
