Chapter 231: The Reorganization of the Guardian Alliance
Chapter 231: The Reorganization of the Guardian Alliance
In the distance, the light of a galaxy is gradually fading. Those once vibrant stars seem to be sucked out from within by some immense suction force, finally turning into dust. Those once prosperous planets are now cold fragments, floating in dark cracks.
“We can’t go on like this,” the Observer murmured, a hint of helplessness in his voice. Although the Star Chart Scepter in his hand could resist some of the erosion from the void, its power was still insignificant in the face of the expanding rift.
“This is no longer a matter of a single battle.” Lysa gripped her spear tightly, her gaze fixed on the Arbiter. “If we don’t find more help, the next battle will be a guaranteed defeat.”
The Arbiter, though cold-blooded, nodded: "It's time to summon those cowardly dimensional guardians. Even if they don't want to participate, this time, they have no choice."
“Dimensional Guardians?” The Observer frowned upon hearing this. “They have already diverged in their views on the rules of the universe. Many even believe that this crisis is the universe’s own ‘correction.’ They may not be willing to help us.”
“Then let them understand—if the rift extends into their dimension, their so-called neutrality will be meaningless,” Lysa said coldly.
The observer remained silent for a moment, then finally nodded. He used his Star Chart Scepter to draw a deep blue circle in the void, which rapidly expanded into a teleportation array connecting multiple dimensions. The moment the array activated, illusory figures emerged from different dimensions.
A chilling figure was the first to emerge from the teleportation array. She was clad entirely in ice-blue armor, and the surrounding air seemed to freeze. She was a guardian from the extreme cold dimension, known as the "Glacier Queen"—Sophia.
"Observer, did you summon us here to involve us in a meaningless war?" Sophia said coldly. "The expansion of the rift is the natural selection of the universe. It may be a necessary elimination, but it is not something we can stop."
Another guardian emerged from the light with a sneer. He was enveloped in dark red flames, his figure floating like a ghost. He was the "Abyss Messenger"—Kane.
“I find this war quite interesting. The power of the Void Avatar… might be an ally worth trying.” Kane licked his lips, a dangerous glint in his eyes. “Observer, are you sure you summoned us here not to have us fight against you?”
The observer remained expressionless, but the star chart scepter in his hand emitted a blinding light, displaying his intimidating power: "If you insist on allowing the rift to expand until it devours your dimension, you will have nowhere to stand."
Sofia and Kane exchanged a glance, then took a step back with a disdainful sneer. While the threat of the rift was real, they clearly had their own understanding of the crisis.
At this point, more dimensional guardians arrived at the scene. Some chose to remain silent, but many more began to express their views in the debate.
"The expansion of the rift is an inescapable fate," said a figure enveloped in void light and shadow. She was a guardian from the eternal dimension, known as the "Narrator of Time." Her voice was gentle yet authoritative. "The rules of the universe inherently contain nothingness and destruction; this is a reality we must accept."
Lysa was clearly enraged by these negative comments. She slammed her spear into the ground with a resounding thud: "You are guardians, not bystanders! The entire universe is collapsing, and you're here discussing fate and reality! If we don't act, we will all die!"
The Arbiter glanced coldly at the hesitant Guardians, his voice laced with sarcasm: "No wonder the rift expanded so quickly. Your so-called 'Dimensional Guardians' are nothing but a bunch of cowardly self-preservationists."
These words undoubtedly ignited the fury of the many guardians present. Kane's anger burned even more intensely. He took a step forward and growled, "Do you think we're all here to take your orders? If you want to fight, then I'm ready to fight you to the bitter end!"
As the argument threatened to escalate into conflict, the Observer raised his Star Chart Scepter, unleashing a dazzling blue light that enveloped all the Guardians. From within the blue light came his voice, booming like a bell: "Enough!"
The entire space fell silent instantly.
"The expansion of the rift is a common crisis that all our dimensions must face. If you believe that letting the rift run its course is inevitable, then continue to stand idly by. But if the rift extends to your homeland, don't expect anyone to come to your aid." The observer's voice was cold and hard, each word carrying a sense of oppression.
He surveyed each of the guardians present, his gaze piercing their arrogance like a sharp blade.
"If you want to join this battle, you are welcome. But if you choose neutrality, I will not force you—just remember, time will not be on your side."
Ultimately, some of the Guardians chose to join the battle, while others chose to stand by and watch. Sophia, though reluctant, sided with the Observers, saying with dissatisfaction, "If this battle is truly meaningless, I expect you to bear all the consequences, Observer."
Kane chuckled and retreated back into the teleportation array, leaving behind his final words: "Good luck—but if you fail, don't expect me to clean up the mess."
Although the alliance is not fully unified, Lysa, the Arbitrators, and the Observers have received sufficient support. They have decided to take the lead and confront the Void Incarnation deep within the Rift.
The atmosphere before the battle was exceptionally heavy. The Observer plunged the Star Chart Scepter into the void, opening a portal to the core of the rift. Through the portal, they could see the endless darkness and the writhing of ethereal tentacles in the distance. A low, rumbling sound emanated from the depths of the rift, as if welcoming their arrival.
Lysa tightened his grip on his spear and said coldly, "I'm tired of these guys' hesitation. The three of us are enough."
The Arbiter chuckled softly, the twin blades in his hands beginning to burn: "Perhaps, but having a few more helpers will always make the battle more interesting."
The observer took a deep breath, his gaze resolute: "No matter what, we cannot back down in this battle."
The three stepped through the portal and into the battlefield deep within the rift. A few guardians followed behind them.
They knew that this battle would determine the fate of the universe.
Deep within the rift's core, the threat of the Void Avatar grew ever more real and tangible. Each step forward felt like venturing into the heart of an abyss. The Observer, Lysa, the Arbiter, and several members of the Guardian Alliance had barely passed through the portal when they felt an oppressive, suffocating energy pressure surrounding them.
