Chapter 221: Fragments of Fate and a New Threat
Chapter 221: Fragments of Fate and a New Threat
With its roar, countless tentacles surged from the crack, attacking Isaac and Mira once more. These tentacles were even more powerful than before, each attack carrying a devastating aura.
Isaac swung the Blade of Rules, cleaving the oncoming tentacle in two, and shouted to Mira, "We can't delay any longer! Use all your strength to finish it off in one blow!"
Mira nodded, and the light blade in her hand shone with unprecedented brilliance. The two poured all their power into the weapon, and golden and silver light intertwined, transforming into a gigantic light blade that pointed straight at the core.
Isaac and Mira leaped into the air simultaneously, slashing their massive light blades towards the core. The blades' power breached the core's defenses, piercing its interior. The core's aura shattered under the impact, and the energy flow within the cracks spiraled completely out of control.
"We did it!" Mira exclaimed, a hint of joy in her eyes.
However, at that very moment, the avatar of the Void Core suddenly unleashed a piercing shriek. Its body began to rapidly shrink, transforming into a small, dense black sphere. The sphere's aura grew increasingly powerful, as if all its energy had been concentrated into a single point.
The observer of fate's expression changed drastically: "This is bad! It's compressing itself, trying to trigger a final explosion! If it succeeds, this universe will be completely destroyed!"
"What other options are there?" Isaac asked loudly.
The observer looked at Isaac and Mira, his tone heavy: "The only way is to use the power of the Blade of Rules and the Blade of Light to merge with the core and guide its energy to a safe dimension."
"Merge?" Mira's voice was filled with shock. "What will happen to us?"
The observer whispered, “You will become the new guardians of the universe, existing at the boundaries of all dimensions, but you will never be able to return to your original world.”
Isaac paused for a moment, then looked at Mira. His gaze held reluctance, but even more so, determination.
“Mira…” Isaac said softly, “This may be our only option.”
Mira gritted her teeth, tears welling in her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away and nodded: "Wherever we go, I'll be with you."
Simultaneously, the two thrust their Blades of Rule and Blades of Light into the core black sphere. In an instant, the sphere released a blinding white light, enveloping the entire crack. Within the white light, Isaac and Mira's figures gradually disappeared, their power merging with the core, transforming into a new energy.
The rift began to rapidly contract, and the power of the Void Core was completely channeled to other dimensions. The trajectory of the star map stabilized again, and the surrounding space returned to calm.
“They succeeded,” the Fate Watcher said softly, a complex look in his eyes.
The halo around the Chaos Core stopped spinning and said in a low voice, "The combination of rules and freedom... has actually created a new balance."
The rift closed completely, and the embodiment of the void core vanished entirely. The star map regained its former glory, and the trajectory of fate was no longer bound, but instead took on a free-flowing form.
However, Isaac and Mira never appeared again. Their existence merged into the new rules of the universe, becoming an invisible yet omnipresent force.
“Isaac, Mira… your sacrifice will be remembered,” the Observer whispered.
At the same time, the arbiter silently put away his scepter and turned to leave. His departing figure appeared lonely and complex.
On the star map, countless new trajectories of destiny began to take shape. A universe full of hope and the unknown was born.
The star chart shone brilliantly once more, and the trajectory of fate continued as before. The halo of the chaotic core slowly dissipated, gradually fading into the void. The observer of fate stood at the center of the star chart, his gaze fixed on the reconnecting trajectories, seemingly lost in thought.
“We won…” the observer murmured, but his tone was not relaxed; instead, it carried a deep unease.
The Arbiter stood to one side, his scepter tapping the ground lightly, producing a crisp sound. His gaze was cold, his voice deep: "New rules have indeed been established, but that does not mean everything is over. You should know that the destruction of the Void Core is not a simple end."
The observer turned his head, his gaze fixed on the adjudicator: "What are you trying to say?"
“The power of the Void Core transcends the rules we know,” the Arbiter said, a hint of unease in his voice. “It has been channeled to other dimensions, which has indeed prevented its awakening in our universe, but its influence will not end there. Those forces will breed new threats in other dimensions.”
“Other dimensions…” The observer frowned slightly, his gaze sweeping towards the edge of the star map. “You mean, fragments of nothingness might coalesce elsewhere?”
The adjudicator did not answer, but stared coldly at the star map, as if he had already seen some kind of lurking crisis.
At the same time, in one corner of the star map, a dim light suddenly flickered. It was a fragment of destiny that had deviated from the main trajectory; its light shone intermittently, as if struggling to maintain its existence.
The observer immediately noticed the anomaly. He quickly approached the fragment, and when he touched it, it emitted a low, humming sound. Then, a fragmented image appeared before him.
The scene unfolds in a completely unfamiliar dimension. The sky there is as black as ink, crisscrossed by countless enormous cracks, from which flows silvery-white energy. Even more astonishingly, deep within these cracks, a blurry figure can be vaguely discerned.
"This is..." The observer's voice held a hint of shock, "...this is the current state of another dimension? The cracks are still spreading?"
The Arbiter walked to the Observer's side and sneered, "It seems the power of the Void Core has not been fully channeled; it has regrowth in other dimensions."
The observer's expression grew even more grave: "If these cracks cannot be sealed, the balance of the universe will be broken once again. We need to find a way to stop it."
Just as the observer and the adjudicator were discussing countermeasures, a strong energy fluctuation suddenly emanated from the center of the star chart. The two turned around simultaneously and saw a golden pillar of light rise from the star chart. Then, an unfamiliar figure slowly emerged from the pillar of light.
It was a woman clad in magnificent armor, her helmet adorned with a shimmering crystal, and she held a strangely shaped spear in her hand. Behind her, a cloak made of starlight billowed in the wind, lending her an air of majesty and mystery.
"Who are you?" the observer asked warily, raising his hands slightly, the fragments of the star map slowly rotating around him, ready to defend at any moment.
