Chapter 29 Why not change the minister who listens to the emperor?
Chapter 29 Why not change the minister who listens to the emperor?
"Alder wand, with a core of unicorn tail hair, 9 inches long."
Ollivander took a closer look and immediately identified the wand's materials. At the same time, he also blurted out the wand's owner's information: "This wand belongs to Quirinus Quirrell. I heard he was chosen by Hogwarts to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this year."
How did his wand end up here? And it's cracked! Luckily, it's not beyond repair!
Ollivander cherished his wands dearly and couldn't bear to see them damaged. He then tried to take Quirrell's wand from him to think of a way to repair it.
Unexpectedly, Dudley simply took the wand back and put it in his coat pocket.
What a joke! If you fix the wand, its rating will be upgraded to A!
Integration costs are skyrocketing!
How am I supposed to complete my accelerated magic spell plan?!
“Mr. Ollivander, all you need to do is provide me with a certificate! This wand is involved in a very important matter and doesn’t need repair!”
Dudley was all business, so Ollivander couldn't say anything more and went behind the counter to take out a piece of parchment and start writing and drawing.
Excellent wand makers possess superb carving and painting skills, as evidenced by the thousands of wands in the shop, each with its own unique design.
Even if wands are made of similar materials, Ollivander will give them their own unique shapes.
So, in no time, Mr. Ollivander was able to draw the cracked Quirrell Wand on the parchment from memory, and it was so lifelike that it was exactly the same as the original.
Then, write down the wand's materials and its intended recipient on the paper, and finally sign Mr. Ollivander's name and add his own family crest with a little magic.
A simple yet sophisticated certificate was thus completed.
"Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Ollivander!"
Dudley reached for the parchment with lightning speed, then casually thanked him and led Harry away.
By the time Mr. Ollivander came to his senses, the two brothers had already opened the shop door and left.
He suddenly felt a sense of unease, remembering Dudley's advice. He closed his eyes and tried to feel the life and will of the thousands of wands in the store.
One minute, ten minutes, half an hour, an hour...
……
Whether Mr. Ollivander had achieved a spiritual connection with the wands in the store was neither Dudley's concern nor his interest.
Anyway, the good thing is that I got it without spending a single nut.
As they stepped out of the wand shop, he and Harry saw Hagrid with a mournful face and Dumbledore deep in thought.
"What's wrong? Hagrid! Did you drop your money?"
Dudley made a joke, and after a cathartic outburst and a successful verbal scam, he felt much better.
However, happiness seems to be constant; for every person who laughs, there is someone who cries.
"No, Dudley. It's much worse than that. Minister Fudge doesn't believe me or Dumbledore at all. He's a fool. He won't admit that Voldemort is back, nor will he believe that I haven't committed any crimes!"
Hagrid said dejectedly.
Even after erasing the stain of Dumbledore from his heart, the poor half-giant still couldn't shake off his low spirits.
"Is this Minister Fudge very strong? Stronger than 'The Great Dumbledore'?"
Dudley said sarcastically, as he took a brand-new briefcase from one of the magic carts parked by the roadside. It was a gift from the robe shop.
"Oh, Dudley, of course not. No one is more powerful than Professor Dumbledore, not even Voldemort would say that."
Hagrid answered without hesitation, saying that Dumbledore was infinitely noble in his heart.
"And what about reputation? Is this Minister Fudge more influential than 'The Great Dumbledore'?"
Dudley then asked, having already opened his suitcase and holding the poplar wand that best suited him, pointing it at the space inside the suitcase.
“That doesn’t exist!” Hagrid said. “Professor Dumbledore has unparalleled influence both domestically and internationally.”
"So you're still here looking downcast and lost in thought? Have you lost your minds? If this minister won't listen to reason, then replace him with a minister who will!"
Dudley made a startling statement in a remarkably calm manner.
He simply couldn't understand Dumbledore's thought process. You could say this old man was law-abiding, but he would occasionally use his power and status to break the rules, such as forcibly protecting Hagrid who had been framed, or allowing the Gringotts goblins to compensate Dudley's dragon.
While he may act as he pleases, he lacks the resolve to stand firm on crucial matters. Despite his formidable strength, he becomes a cowardly compromiser, causing frustration for himself and distress for his teammates, while giving the enemy a chance to develop their strength in a cowardly manner.
"This is no good! Dudley! I can't do this, you..."
Dumbledore, who was deep in thought, was startled by Dudley's outrageous words.
He quickly glanced around and, seeing that there were no other wizards nearby, instinctively rejected Dudley's idea based on his habitual thinking, wanting to use words to correct the twisted ideas in the mind of this unruly genius little wizard.
Dudley didn't hear what he wanted to hear. He ignored Dumbledore and started casting a spell, interrupting Dumbledore's nonsense.
"Seamless stretching!"
Dudley waved his wand at the suitcase and chanted a spell, mimicking Hagrid's earlier spellcasting.
The Unseen Stretch Charm is a high-level spell and is subject to approval and control by the Ministry of Magic. The spellbook that Mr. Dugger bought for Dudley did not contain any related tutorials, so this was Dudley's first time practicing it, and he skipped the theory and went straight into hands-on practice.
"Crack!"
A loud noise rang out, and Dudley's wand emitted a spark that emitted black smoke before quickly going out. Clearly, he had failed.
"Dali, your pronunciation is wrong, and your wand is waving incorrectly."
Dumbledore stopped talking about trivial matters, as if he had figured something out. He watched Dudley's actions and began to guide him like a teacher.
This time, Dudley didn't ignore Dumbledore and started studying seriously.
He is a pragmatist and will not give up opportunities to improve his abilities because of trivial matters such as saving face or emotions.
After some guidance, Dudley successfully cast the Unseen Stretch Spell, instantly increasing the space inside the suitcase to one hundred cubic meters, like a small house.
However, perhaps due to a lack of proficiency or insufficient skills, the expanded scope could not be maintained indefinitely, lasting only a week, failing to meet Dali's expectations.
Dumbledore saw through Dudley's thoughts, and without saying a word, he took the Elder Wand and tapped it on the suitcase in mid-air.
"Seamless stretching! Weight reduction! Preservation and freshness! Magical constant!"
A smooth little combo, done effortlessly.
Dudley watched helplessly as an ordinary suitcase instantly transformed into a C-grade magical item.
Its interior not only has a permanent, constant volume of 1,000 cubic meters, but also ensures that the items stored inside will not spoil for a long time and will not affect the weight of the suitcase itself.
A storage solution of exceptional quality!
"very good!"
Dudley said, then packed all five magic carts, brimming with items, into his suitcase. This was all the stuff he and Harry had bought, except for Hedwig, who was kept in the birdcage.
Harry was worried that his pet and messenger would get bored in the box, so he simply carried the cage in his hand.
After packing his things, Dudley, carrying his magical briefcase, turned to Dumbledore and gave him a parting ultimatum.
