Chapter 44 Illusion and Truth
Chapter 44 Illusion and Truth
The Holy Lord raised his right hand and gently brought his five fingers together.
At the military command center 30 kilometers away, the control panels of all the missile launch silos lit up simultaneously.
Since no external information was received, this was not an external intrusion or control; these systems seemed to have come to life and started up automatically.
A huge warning pop-up appeared on the screen.
[Target identified: All nuclear weapon silos worldwide]
Launch countdown: 60 seconds
Ross's communicator suddenly rang, and a commander's heart-wrenching roar came through: "General, all nuclear warheads are activated! Not just American ones! Globally! We can't stop them! We absolutely can't stop them!"
Ross did not reply; the countdown continued to play on the communicator.
"56...50...45..."
The Holy Lord lowered his hand and looked around, finally settling on Fury.
"Ant, let me teach you how to use this power."
Ross abruptly stood up, his face ashen. "Stop! Do you know what you're doing? Global nuclear radiation—that's the end of civilization!"
The Holy Lord looked down at their terrified expressions, a look of ecstasy on his face: "The end of civilization? No, this is the reordering of civilization."
The countdown on the communicator continued.
"38...30...25..."
Fury gritted his teeth, his desires now completely suppressed by fear: "If you really detonate a global nuclear bomb, you won't survive either. Are you insane?"
The Holy Lord lowered his head and looked at Fury, who was kneeling on the ground: "You haven't achieved the goal I gave you, so let me give you a push."
The Holy Lord raised his left hand, gently bringing his five fingers together. The lights in the room began to flicker, and all the electronic devices simultaneously emitted a loud roar.
"On this planet, nuclear weapons are the most powerful weapons, and also the greatest threat to me at present."
The room fell silent once again.
[System self-check complete, everything is normal]
"What, what's going on here? How can an order be taken back after it's been issued!" Ross exclaimed.
The Holy Lord walked to the window, turned his back to everyone, and looked in the direction of Stark Industries.
"Tony Stark," the Holy Lord said softly, "is a slightly louder ant who thinks he's playing a game with me, who thinks his cleverness can interfere with my plans."
Fury tried to get up, only to find his Achilles tendon was ruptured: "Aren't you guys in cahoots?"
The Holy Lord did not turn around: "He is much smarter than you."
"I really didn't expect that technological systems could be influenced."
The Holy Lord's expression remained unchanged: "However, what he intercepted was only what I wanted him to intercept."
The top level of Stark Industries.
Tony lay on the sofa, looking at the screen in front of him with a confident expression: "These kinds of tricks can only fool a fool like Fury."
"The situation has changed, sir. Several missiles have bypassed the system and been launched directly." Jarvis's voice echoed in the room.
Tony stopped swirling his wine glass abruptly.
"Jarvis, analyze the trajectory data of all missiles."
A few seconds later, Jarvis's voice rang out again: "Sir, the trajectory data of all missiles has been analyzed, but the results do not match any known ballistic calculation models."
Tony sat up from the sofa, Jarvis was still talking.
"The target of these challenges is presumably the coordinates of all nuclear weapon launchers worldwide."
Tony's pupils contracted slightly as he looked at the screen in front of him. The lines representing the missile trajectories stretched and intersected, eventually converging at several key points.
Tony stared at the lines, his mind racing: "This isn't an attack, this is..."
Jarvis continued, "All of these missiles are equipped with electromagnetic pulse devices in their warheads, so the result after they hit the target will not trigger a nuclear explosion."
"If the global nuclear weapons command system were completely paralyzed, all countries' nuclear arsenals would become piles of scrap metal."
Tony suddenly stood up and walked to the global projection: "This is impossible. Other countries will definitely retaliate."
Tony stared intently at the lines, writing them down, and eventually the lines formed a sentence.
What you see is only what I want you to see.
Tony's breath hitched for a moment, and his pupils contracted again as he stared at the line of text.
"Jarvis, how technically plausible is it that this statement is presented to us?" Tony took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.
"Analyzing..."
Jarvis paused for a second: "Theoretically, there are three possibilities: the system has been deeply compromised, the projection has been remotely hijacked, or the display has been tampered with at the quantum level."
"But all three possibilities require passing through Stark Industries' firewall, though I haven't sensed any attacks."
"Get straight to the conclusion."
"The conclusion is that it's technically impossible," Jarvis said with absolute certainty.
Tony thought of Shendu's ability to control inanimate objects: "This isn't a technical matter."
"This is not a technology."
Tony repeated the sentence, a slight smile playing on his lips: "Jarvis, do you know what this means to me?"
"Sir, based on logical analysis, this means that the other party's form of existence is beyond the scope of current technological understanding and would usually be classified as a threat," Jarvis replied.
Tony turned and stared at the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window: "Wrong, this means he also has boundaries."
Jarvis fell silent.
Tony walked slowly to the workbench, tapping his fingers lightly on the surface: "If he were truly omnipotent, he wouldn't need to play these tricks."
"He needs me to see what he wants me to see, which means there are things he doesn't want me to see."
"His need to control nuclear weapons indicates that nuclear weapons do indeed pose a threat to him."
"He needs to use Fury, which means there are some things he can't do."
Tony held up a box and stared intently at its edges: "He has power, but now his power seems to be limited by something, and where there's a limit, there's a loophole."
"Jarvis, I remember I had four private nuclear bombs. Where are they now?"
Jarvis: "Sir, according to the records, there is also 24-hour surveillance in your private warehouse."
Jarvis, I have a question.
"Please speak, sir."
"Do you think Valon can control the world's electronic systems?" Tony asked.
Jarvis was silent for a moment: "We're analyzing it, sir. Based on the current situation, it's not possible."
Tony agreed, "Yes, if he really can do it, he is fully capable of making the nuclear bomb self-destruct, leaving nothing behind that could pose a threat to him."
Tony, as if struck by a sudden thought, continued, "Was the targeted weapon created after reanalyzing Valon's blood successful?"
Jarvis replied, "Sir, it is ready to be used at any time."
