"Why did she walk away!" Harry asked Hermione, puzzled, as he watched the girl's retreating figure.
“Because you didn’t say anything just now.” Hermione sighed and asked, “Harry, you hesitated just now, didn’t you? Because you didn’t want to go to the ball with her at all, am I right?”
“Yes!” Harry said honestly.
In the next few minutes, two more girls invited him to dance. One was a second-year student, and the other was surprisingly a fifth-year student. The fifth-year girl was a full head taller than Harry. Just thinking about how ridiculous it would be if such a tall girl and short boy danced together made Harry a little uneasy.
So he refused them all.
Hermione was dumbfounded by his behavior of complaining about not getting invited while constantly rejecting others.
So she ran to the Ravenclaw table, found Levin, told him about it, and then asked, "You're both boys, can you tell me what Harry is thinking?"
“He already has someone he likes.” Levin said with a playful expression. “See? Harry will most likely end up not finding a girlfriend and will have to shamelessly pick one randomly.”
Hermione was still a little confused: "Why? Harry is a warrior, after all."
Levin shook his head; he knew his savior too well: "Harry's too shy. Unless absolutely necessary, he'd never take the initiative. How could someone like him possibly find a dance partner he likes?"
Levin's assessment is correct.
There was only one person Harry truly wanted to invite, and that was Cho Chang.
But he hesitated to make a move, as if that would prevent him from being rejected.
He's recently started daydreaming, imagining that Cho Chang will write to him, inviting him to a ball.
This is not just baseless; he has evidence to prove it!
Just yesterday, when he was leaving get out of class, he unexpectedly ran into Zhang Qiu in the corridor. The other party actually smiled at him. Wasn't that an obvious hint?
It's a pity that Levin didn't know Harry's little schemes, otherwise he would definitely have recommended him to become a writer.
He could write a "Simp Diary"... It's hilarious to think about, and it would definitely surpass Lockhart's work and become a bestseller in the wizarding world.
However, to be fair, Harry is incredibly thin-skinned in this regard, and he was completely fooled by Lee Jordan's theories.
Jordan said that invitations should be made carefully, that the atmosphere should be appropriate, and that the timing should be considered… and Harry actually believed him.
Perhaps Jordan's words just suited Harry's shy personality, so he convinced himself.
Harry felt that the atmosphere during the Christmas period was the most romantic, so he decided to seize the opportunity and extend an invitation to Cho the day before Christmas.
He had no idea that Zhang Qiu had already agreed to become Levin's third dance partner.
But even if Levin hadn't done that, how could Harry possibly have successfully invited her, given his tendency to cut deadlines so quickly?
Poor Harry, still completely unaware, is struggling to muster the courage to extend the invitation.
Every time he saw Levin, he would ask him for advice on how to date girls.
Harry was stalling for time, while Ron was trying to invite the girl, but no one paid any attention to his stalling.
Ron was also eager to invite the beautiful witch.
In fact, he probably had a goal, but he was just too embarrassed to speak up.
These two unfortunate brothers are destined to suffer before the Christmas party.
Chapter 336 Ginny the Fun-Loving One
In the final days before Christmas, Levin encountered more and more trouble.
To avoid the endless stream of invitations, he would hide in the tower and study plant modification whenever he had free time.
Recently, he plans to start with Muggle biology and use a catalytically induced magic potion to distort the genes of plants and complete the initial modification.
But this plan ultimately failed; the genetic differences between plants and humans are still quite significant.
But he unexpectedly discovered a byproduct.
Even if Levin could hide in the tower after class to do experiments
But he still had to go back to Hogwarts for classes eventually.
Every class after class was a nightmare for Levin.
This happened not only when Levin was a student, but also when he was a teacher.
Because Hermione and Cho Chang were both core members of the Society of the Learned, and out of respect for their authority, almost none of the female members dared to join in the fun and invite Levin.
However, with so many witches in the Society of Learned Scholars, there must be some who are not afraid of them.
After finishing a class at the Academy of Liberal Arts, Levin was about to leave the classroom when someone called him from behind.
Levin turned around and saw Gabrielle.
Although Levin consistently rejected the sisters' advances and temptations, he acknowledged that the Veela-mixed sisters were both highly promising wizards.
He planned to invite Furong to work in the Yin Kingdom after she graduated.
To entice them, Levin even invited them to audit classes at the Academy of Liberal Arts.
Specifically, it means auditing the courses of the three most core classes.
Looking at the silver-haired little girl, Levin asked curiously, "Huh, why are you all alone?"
He turned his head and asked curiously, "I didn't see Luna and the others."
Luna and Ginny are good friends and often play together. Now it seems that Astoria has also joined them.
After Gabrielle arrived, she became her fourth friend.
“Ginny and Luna said they wanted to help Hermione with something,” Gabrielle’s eyes sparkled. “But they told me a secret.”
"What secret?" Levin asked, somewhat curious.
"They said you'd dance with each of them at the Christmas ball, and Astoria, too. She even bragged about it to me," Gabrielle said, pouting, sounding a little sullen.
"That's right." Levin nodded, thinking that this would fulfill the girls' longing for the ball.
“Levin, may I ask you to be my dance partner?” Gabrielle suddenly asked.
"You're only in second grade, right?" Levin raised an eyebrow.
“But Astoria is a second-year student too,” Gabrielle said indignantly. “She can dance with you, so why can’t I? That’s not fair.”
“But what will your sister think?” Levin asked again.
"I'm all grown up now, my sister doesn't need to worry about my dancing!" the little girl exclaimed. "She's already worrying about how to... um!"
Gabrielle stopped talking halfway through her sentence.
Levin didn't pay attention to these details. After thinking it over carefully, he nodded: "Okay, since you insist, I'll count you in."
"Yay!" Gabrielle cheered. "My sister will be so jealous of me!"
Watching the little girl excitedly run back to the classroom, Levin shook his head and continued walking out.
As he turned the corner of the corridor, he ran into a group of Beauxbatons female students.
The moment they saw him, all those scheming French women's eyes lit up.
There are subtle, tender glances, bold, flirtatious looks, and timid, shy expressions.
They immediately surrounded Levin, extending invitations one by one.
Even with Levin's extensive experience, he found it hard to resist the passion of these French women.
Fortunately, Furong appeared just in time. She walked over, exuding an amazing aura. The girls who saw her all lowered their heads in shame and obediently made way for her.
Levin realized that she had actively activated her abilities.
Veela's charm has opposite effects on both same-sex and opposite-sex individuals.
For the opposite sex, this power is the ultimate temptation:
But for people of the same sex, it produces the immediate effect.
Using this skill, she successfully navigated through the crowd and pulled Levin out from among the beautiful women without saying a word.
However, she was unaware that the power she unleashed unexpectedly affected others.
Levin finally breathed a sigh of relief and said sincerely, "Thank you so much, you've helped me a lot."
Furong nodded, seemingly wanting to say something but hesitating, stopping herself from speaking several times.
Finally, she tossed her silver hair, made up her mind, and was interrupted as soon as she uttered "Levin".
Ron suddenly pushed his way through the crowd and rushed over, throwing himself down in front of Fleur. He seemed to be in a state of frenzy and trance, shouting, "Miss Delacour, would you... be my dance partner?"
The surroundings suddenly became quiet.
People stared at Ron in disbelief, completely baffled as to what was wrong with him.
Especially Furong, whose eyes were filled with disgust.
She had seen the boy in the Daily Prophet, which said he was Harry's best friend and that he and Krum had fallen in love with a kiss at the World Cup.
As a Gallic sorceress, Fleur was familiar with the customs of some of the darker nations, and she did not discriminate against them.
But what's with this guy inviting her? It's so insulting!
Soon, Furong was the first to react.
Because Ron, who had fallen to the ground, had already started reaching out to grab her feet.
Anger and embarrassment made Fleur's face flush red. Feeling extremely ashamed and indignant, she stomped hard on Ron's outstretched hand, turned around, and quickly pulled Levin away.
As she walked, Furong continued to curse angrily:
"Go and have your spring and autumn dreams!"
Before leaving, Levin waved his wand, helping Ron dispel the alluring magic.
Ron immediately realized the shameful thing he had done.
He walked dejectedly toward the Gryffindor common room.
He still vividly remembered the way Furong had looked at him like he was trash.
The laughter around him turned into sharp mockery, as if everyone was whispering and ridiculing him, a toad trying to eat swan meat.
His steps were heavy, as if his legs no longer belonged to him.
Reaching the door of the lounge, he said to the plump lady in a dry voice, "Fire Dragon."
"Wrong, wrong! We've changed the password." The fat lady was putting on makeup in a mirror, not even glancing at Ron.
