With extraordinary comprehension, I built a floating city at Hogwarts.

Could it be that his memory is faulty?

Levin thought for a moment, then simply closed his eyes.

Since seeing with our eyes won't work, let's try using our senses.

"【Psionic Reconnaissance】!"

The power of the mind transformed into tentacles, spreading forward and soon reaching the mountain wall.

But there, Levin's mental tentacles sensed nothing, and were even able to continue penetrating deeper.

This shows that the so-called "mountain wall" is not what it appears to be.

The mountain wall was just an illusion.

Is it illusion magic?

Levin frowned, sensing that something was wrong.

He immediately chose to carefully use the [Detection Magic] on the mountain wall.

Sure enough, they discovered something amiss.

Besides illusion magic, Levin also detected traces of warning magic and the [Muggle Expulsion Charm].

Moreover, these spells were cast not long ago.

Clearly, there are people inside.

“Anyone sneaking here on Christmas Eve is either a dark wizard or a poacher; they're definitely not a good person.”

Levin immediately made a judgment.

It seems that giving myself so many buffs beforehand was the right thing to do.

For a moment, Levin began to consider whether he should leave.

He's only been exposed to magic for less than half a year, and he's in a period of cautious development. It's not the time for him to be reckless and should not confront people head-on.

With his current abilities, he might be fine if he encountered one or two dark wizards.

If there are too many enemies, he won't be able to handle them.

However, he was unwilling to give up the clue he had finally obtained about the griffin's beak.

What if this griffin beak is also their target?

What if the griffin's beak is on them?

If I escape tonight, who knows when I'll find a clue to the griffin's beak again?

"How about we go in and check out the situation first, then make a decision?"

"My Invisibility spell is far more effective than the Illusion Spell. If I use Invisibility to go in and investigate, as long as I'm careful, I shouldn't be discovered."

"What if the people inside aren't that strong, or they have a chance to secretly take the griffin's beak? Wouldn't that be a win?"

"We're just scouting anyway. If we really can't win, we can always leave later, right?"

"You scared yourself away without even seeing anyone. That's such a coward."

After careful consideration for five minutes, Levin made his decision.

Get in!

So he cast an invisibility spell on himself, then carefully bypassed the warning magic and entered the dungeon.

Walking straight ahead along the passageway, Levin realized that the interior space was quite large.

This passageway alone extends dozens of meters deep into the mountainside, revealing a hidden world within.

At the end of the passageway is an open, circular stone chamber, about twenty or thirty square meters in size.

Levin looked around the room. The walls were made of stone bricks and large stone slabs, covered with ancient Celtic-style reliefs, and were covered with moss, indicating a long history.

Torches were lit on the walls for illumination; according to Levin's observation, these were not the ancient celestial fires.

In other words, these were all set on fire by the previous group of people.

The stone chamber was surrounded by four passageways, one of which led from the direction he had come from, and the other three were on the left and right sides and directly opposite the entrance.

However, the passageways on the right and opposite sides have long since collapsed over time and are no longer accessible; only the passageway on the left remains open.

Levin stepped forward, used his psionic energy to probe the door, and only after confirming that there was no one else behind it did he push the door open slightly and continue forward.

Before him stretched another long and deep corridor. Levin tiptoed and carefully walked to the end of the corridor, where another stone door stood.

He arrived at the door and used his psionic powers to investigate as before. Unlike last time, this time he heard the voices of humans talking.

Levin heard a male voice say, "Do you still have alcohol hidden away? Staying here guarding the gate is too boring, why don't you have a drink?"

Immediately following, a voice with a serious, unintelligible accent in English replied: "Are you crazy? If the boss finds out we drink while we're on duty, he'll kill us!"

"What's the big deal?" the first voice said matter-of-factly. "On a perfectly good Christmas Eve, everyone else is sitting by a warm fire with their families, while we're stuck in this cold tomb with a bunch of scum. This treatment is too much! Can't we even have a drink?"

“Maybe…you’re right.” The man with the accent seemed convinced, and then there was a rustling sound from behind the door, followed by the crisp sound of a glass bottle hitting a stone and the bubbling sound of a cork being pulled out.

It seems they got the wine.

Upon hearing this, Levin realized that his opportunity was about to arrive.

Chapter 42 The Chicken Almost Frozen

"Drink some more, drink some more!"

Not long after, the sounds of two people clinking glasses and exchanging toasts could be heard from behind the stone gate.

“Darcy, I really didn’t expect you to have secretly kept a package with extended space,” the first male voice with a standard accent said. “Aren’t you afraid of the boss’s wrath if he finds out?”

“If you’re not afraid to drink in private, why would I be afraid to hide a bag?” the foreign-accented man, known as Darcy, said smugly. “Just kidding, I’m super brave, okay? I’m a master at hiding things!”

What followed was a series of conversations.

"He's really good at hiding, and he's very brave."

"Nice figure, quite muscular."

"Ted, what are you doing?"

……

Just when Levin thought these two drunken guys were about to do something unexpected, the conversation suddenly shifted to another topic.

He immediately became interested.

Darcy suddenly asked, "We're so drunk, what if someone breaks in again?"

Ted laughed heartily: "It's Christmas Eve, even the Aurors are at home with their families. What kind of jinx would want to play cards with us unlucky folks in the middle of nowhere?"

Levin, standing outside the door, instantly felt like he'd been hit by a Q.

But he forced himself to suppress his frustration and continued listening.

“But, but, what did that Auror who got arrested today say?” Darcy pointed out sharply, “That woman came looking for trouble on Christmas Eve.”

They even caught an Auror today?

Upon hearing this news, the boy immediately became serious.

The fact that they were able to capture an Auror and act so nonchalantly suggests that the other party is a highly professional team that has been dealing with Aurors for a long time.

In his mind, he immediately raised the level of threat from the enemy.

Ted spat after Darcy's sarcastic remark: "Pah, that woman just graduated this year, what kind of bullshit Auror is she?"

Darcy was still a little worried: "Even if she's a newbie, she's still been captured by us. What if someone comes looking for her..."

“No, no, no,” Ted clearly knew far more than his companion. “The boss said the Ministry of Magic doesn’t have any arrest missions lately, so it was purely accidental that the woman found us—and… uh! Although there was no interrogation, I could tell she wasn’t wearing her uniform when she was caught, which means her encounter with us was completely… uh! on a whim. Nothing will happen!”

"Even if the Auror brats discover she's missing, it'll be two or three days later. By then, our boss will have already found the treasure and made a run for it with us! Uh!"

"Before we leave, maybe the two of us brothers can get rid of that bitch..."

Comforted by Ted's drunken hiccups, Darcy finally felt relieved.

The two then happily began drinking together again.

Levin, however, had other ideas.

Judging from their conversation, the other party came here to search for treasure.

The only thing that can be called a treasure here is the "Scholar's Moonstone".

That moonstone was indeed a powerful magical item, containing the power of the moon.

Not only can it attract Moonfoxes to gather and reproduce, but it can also catalyze the prophetic power of the centaurs.

If I were to obtain it, it might be helpful for my research into divination magic and nature spells.

At worst, it can be used to befriend the centaurs of the Forbidden Forest, making it easier to obtain materials there in the future.

These two are currently very lax in their defenses, making it the perfect opportunity to strike.

Moreover, judging from their conversation, the captured Auror is most likely still alive.

If she's lucky, she could also be a potential asset.

After some analysis, Levin made a decision.

It's done!

However, even a sneak attack requires a certain degree of subtlety.

The two people inside were drunk, clearly giving him an opportunity.

But to truly ensure everything goes perfectly, they need to be separated.

Levin's eyes lit up and he had an idea.

He pressed himself against the door again, secretly releasing his mental power to bring the two under the surveillance of his mental field.

Then, using the power of the mental field, he secretly cast a [Suggestion] spell on one of them.

[Suggestion: A 3rd-level control spell that influences the subject's actions by suggesting certain behaviors. Your suggestive words...]
