Chapter 245 Meeting Preparation
Chapter 245 Meeting Preparation
After receiving an urgent summons from the Fifth Hokage, Boruto immediately went to the Hokage's office.
Before long, Boruto stood in front of the wooden door of the Hokage's office, raised his hand and gently knocked on the door. After a deep response came from inside, he turned the doorknob, pushed open the door and went in.
At this moment, Tsunade was sitting upright behind the Hokage's desk, her brows furrowed, her right hand pressed against her forehead, rubbing her temples.
Boruto noticed an opened envelope on the large desk in front of her.
After Boruto entered, Tsunade looked up, shifting her gaze from the documents in her hand to Boruto. She nodded slightly and said, "Boruto, you've come."
Then, Tsunade reached out and picked up the envelope on the table, handed it to Boruto, and said, "I have an important task for you to complete."
Upon hearing this, Boruto immediately stepped forward and took the envelope from Tsunade's hand.
Boruto unfolded the letter, and the coded handwriting came into view. The envelope had the special markings of the cipher team, indicating that the contents had already been deciphered by them.
This letter was written by the Raikage of Kumogakure. The letter formally invites Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage of Konoha, to a meeting in three days to discuss important matters between the two villages.
The letter detailed the time, place, and preliminary agenda for the meeting.
After Boruto finished reading, Tsunade explained, "Seven of the nine tailed beasts have been captured by the Akatsuki, leaving only the Eight-Tails from Amegakure and Naruto. It's inevitable that they will make some big moves next."
After Boruto finished reading the letter, he looked at Tsunade.
Seeing this, Tsunade slowly said, "Seven of the nine tailed beasts have been captured by the Akatsuki. Currently, only the Eight-Tails from Amegakure and our Naruto remain."
"The Akatsuki's actions are becoming more and more frequent, and we have to be wary of their next move. We must prepare in advance."
Tsunade paused for a moment, then continued, "After learning from Jiraiya that the Eight-Tails' Jinchuriki had become the perfect Jinchuriki, I immediately sent a letter to Kumogakure proposing an alliance, hoping that we could jointly resist the threat of the Akatsuki."
"And taking this opportunity, I also hope to arrange special training for Naruto so that he can fully master the Nine-Tails' chakra." At this point, Tsunade frowned slightly, a helpless expression on her face. "However, things are not as simple as we imagined. The attitude of the Hidden Cloud Village is somewhat subtle."
Upon hearing this, Boruto understood that the relationship between Konoha and Kumogakure was not as harmonious and close as it would be in the future.
There are many historical issues and conflicts of interest between the two villages, making it impossible for them to trust each other completely and reveal important intelligence and plans based solely on a letter.
Tsunade looked at Boruto solemnly: "...According to regulations, we can only bring one guard to this meeting. After careful consideration, I have decided to entrust this important task to you."
Tsunade was well aware of Boruto's adaptability, so she wasn't worried that the Raikage might suddenly launch an attack during the meeting.
After hearing Tsunade's instructions, Boruto nodded and replied, "I will do my best to ensure the mission is completed successfully."
After receiving Boruto's response, Tsunade nodded and said, "Kumakushi Village is no pushover. They have coveted Konoha Village many times and have tried to gain benefits in various situations. However, we are currently in a special period where the threat from Akatsuki is intensifying, so we have no choice but to break the current fragile balance."
......
Several days later, in a secluded cave, near the former stronghold of the Uchiha clan.
Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki have just finished extracting the tailed beasts from the remaining Jinchuriki.
Their expressions were calm, and the chakra fluctuations from the powerful technique they had just performed still lingered on their bodies.
As the connection of the Illusionary Body Technique gradually broke, their consciousness returned to their original bodies.
Kisame Hoshigaki slowly stood up and stretched his body, which had become stiff from maintaining one posture for a long time.
He exhaled deeply and looked through the cave entrance. He saw that it was pouring rain outside, with raindrops pounding the ground and splashing up countless droplets.
Kisame muttered to himself, "It's finally over, but it looks like the rain outside isn't going to stop anytime soon."
Then, Kisame Hoshigaki raised an eyebrow and continued, "It's really strange that it's raining so heavily in this area at this time of year."
Uchiha Itachi did not respond to Kisame's words, but silently got up and walked forward until he completely exposed his body to the torrential rain.
The rain lashed down on him, soaking his clothes instantly, but Itachi Uchiha didn't care.
Kisame Hoshigaki looked at Itachi Uchiha's back as he stood in the rain and said softly, "This isn't good for your health."
In response, Itachi Uchiha simply stood quietly in the rain, his gaze piercing through the dense rain curtain as he looked towards the Uchiha stronghold perched atop a high mountain in the distance.
"What are you thinking right now, you cold-hearted person? I don't know, but from my perspective, I feel extremely lost."
After Kisame finished speaking, he strode towards Itachi Uchiha, who was standing in the rain. When he reached Itachi's side, he stopped and stood with Itachi in the rain. He continued, "Itachi-san, you once said that no matter who you are, you can't understand yourself until the very last moment. You can only see yourself clearly before you die. So I still can't quite understand it."
As Itachi watched the raindrops gradually thin out and eventually stop completely, and the sky began to clear, he slowly spoke, murmuring, "The rain... has stopped."
......
In the upcoming storyline, I plan to simultaneously develop three storylines: the brotherly battle between Itachi and Sasuke, Jiraiya's solo reconnaissance of Amegakure, and his journey to Kumogakure to help Naruto train as a perfect Jinchuriki.
