Chapter 165 Frieza Summons the Dragon
Chapter 165 Frieza Summons the Dragon
Neru moved with incredible agility, like a black lightning bolt, speeding through the sky. He was following the Grand Elder's instructions to help Shang Yun and the others resist the evil forces.
Neru was moving incredibly fast, creating a gust of wind that whipped up sand and gravel, forming a dust storm. However, as he sped forward, it was as if an invisible force pulled him back. Neru's steps came to an abrupt halt, like a cheetah suddenly frozen in place. His body trembled slightly, a look of fear and unease appearing on his face, as he slowly turned his head to look in the direction of the Grand Elder.
At the distant horizon, the Grand Elder's residence seemed shrouded in a mysterious mist, eerily silent. A strong sense of foreboding welled up in Neru's heart, a feeling that surged like a tidal wave, instantly engulfing him. His eyes became empty and lost, his lips trembled slightly, and he murmured silently, "I have a bad feeling. Someone wants to harm the Grand Elder. I'm sorry, Earthlings, I must go protect the Grand Elder."
As soon as he finished speaking, Neru took a deep breath, turned around abruptly, leaned forward, and sped off like an arrow toward the Grand Elder.
……
Inside Frieza's base, the atmosphere was oppressive and suffocating. Ginyu respectfully presented the seven Dragon Balls, which he had "laboriously" retrieved, to Frieza. The Dragon Balls shimmered with a mysterious light in the dim light.
Frieza stood to the side, his eyes gleaming with greed and desire. He gazed at the seven Dragon Balls, a wild "hohoho" laugh erupting from his lips, filled with smugness and anticipation: "As expected of the Ginyu Force! They found the Dragon Balls so quickly! Now I can finally achieve my wish of immortality!" With that, he impatiently gestured for Ginyu to place the Dragon Balls on the ground, his eagerness suggesting that his wish would come true at any moment.
Frieza strode slowly toward the Dragon Balls, a rare hint of excitement flickering across his usually cold face. Standing before the Dragon Balls, he took a deep breath, then suddenly tilted his head back and roared with all his might, "Dragon Balls, grant my wish!" His voice boomed like thunder, echoing throughout the base and seemingly causing the surrounding walls to tremble slightly.
However, as time ticked by, the arena fell into a deathly silence. The expected dragon did not appear, no magical phenomena occurred; everything seemed frozen in place.
Ginyu watched Frieza's expression cautiously, his heart pounding with anxiety. After a long while, he mustered his courage and asked softly, "Lord Frieza, are you... already immortal?" His voice trembled slightly, afraid of angering the capricious king.
Frieza's face instantly darkened. He glared at Ginyu and roared, "No! What happened?" His mind was filled with doubt and anger, his thoughts churning like a tidal wave. Suddenly, a scene flashed through his mind—the scene of attacking the second village on Namek.
Frieza frowned, trying hard to recall the details of the incident, and slowly said, "When we attacked the second village, the elder handed over the Dragon Balls and said that even if we obtained the Dragon Balls, we might not be able to fulfill our wishes. At the time, I thought he was just saying that out of resentment, but I didn't expect..." His voice grew softer and softer, and a hint of unease flickered in his eyes.
Upon hearing this, Ginyu immediately stepped forward and asked eagerly, "What? What's going on? What does Lord Frieza need me to do?" His eyes were filled with longing as he awaited Frieza's instructions.
Frieza pondered for a moment and said, "It must be that summoning Shenron requires some kind of code. It seems I need to ask the Namekians to find out."
Upon hearing this, Ginyu asked, "Are there still Namekians on this planet?"
"I hope there are still some," Frieza said, pressing the power level detector by his ear and carefully searching for population on Namek.
A moment later, the probe emitted a soft "beep" sound. Frieza looked into the distance, a sinister smile on his face, and sneered, "There are two faint Namekian auras over there."
After saying that, Frieza looked in another direction: "Over there, there's the aura of a Namekian moving at high speed."
Upon hearing this, Ginyu immediately asked for instructions: "I will go and capture them right away."
Frieza turned to Ginyu and ordered, "You stay here and watch the Dragon Balls. You're too slow, I'll go instead."
Ginyu nodded quickly and replied, "Yes, King Frieza!"
Watching Frieza fly away like a ghost, Ginyu, with the seven Dragon Balls inside the base motionless, secretly prayed that Frieza could bring back useful information; otherwise, they would all face Frieza's unpredictable rage.
……
Krillin and Gohan tried to persuade Shangyun not to fight Guldo alone.
Shang Yun reached out to stop them, saying, "Krillin, Gohan, this guy's ability seems a bit strange. Let me go first. Vegeta needs to conserve his energy to deal with the other three."
Shang Yun took a deep breath, his eyes revealing fearless courage and determination, and resolutely stepped forward, deciding to take the lead.
Shang Yun rushed towards Guldo like a whirlwind, his right hand aimed straight at Guldo's head.
Guldo hadn't expected Shang Yun to be so fast, just as Shang Yun's fist was about to strike.
Guldor hurriedly held his breath and used "Time Stop" to escape. He then turned and fled, only regaining his breath after running out of Shang Yun's attack range.
Shang Yun's attack missed, and seeing that Guldo had disappeared, he quickly tried to locate Guldo by sensing his aura.
Krillin, who was keeping a close eye on Shang Yun from a distance, asked in surprise, "How did this guy disappear? Was he that fast?"
Shang Yun recalled Guldo's ability in the original story—to stop time by holding his breath. He decided to first wear down Guldo's stamina.
Shang Yun then leaped into the air, darting back and forth at incredible speed, leaving Guldo dazzled and unable to determine his direction.
Seeing this, Guldo was terrified and immediately held his breath again, trying to see Shang Yun's location. However, as he held his breath, Shang Yun appeared to his left, his right fist aimed straight at his head. Guldo was filled with fear and quickly turned to hide behind a small hill.
After Shang Yun recovered, he sensed that Guldor was hiding behind the mountain and immediately rushed over.
Goldo was hiding behind the rocks, panting heavily, thinking, "How can this guy be so fast? I can't keep stopping time like this, it's too exhausting."
Just as he was feeling sentimental, Guldo sensed something and quickly held his breath, looking up to see that Shang Yun was already above him, about to kick him in the head. Guldo was shocked and hurriedly turned and ran away, thinking as he ran, "Strange, why did I dodge?"
