Chapter 121 Second Year Begins! Ethan Has Become a New Rule in Ghost Stories
Amidst the delightful screams from behind.
Ethan stood leisurely on the side of the road with Harry, who kept turning back, their gold-plated canes gently tapping the asphalt.
Not long after.
A rumbling sound, like thunder, came from the night, growing louder as it approached.
"They're here."
Ethan spoke, his cobalt blue eyes fixed on a point in the sky.
"That's a flying car?!"
Harry exclaimed as he watched something getting closer and closer in the sky.
The turquoise flying car gracefully flicked its tail in front of them, revealing a fluffy red head peeking out from within.
Ron Weasley grinned at his dumbfounded best friend and waved his hand smugly:
"Get in the car, Harry—ouch!"
The Weasley twins, George and Fred, grabbed their younger brother's head from behind and shouted:
"Judging from your tone—"
I thought you were driving this car!
"Let me go!"
Ron struggled in shame and indignation.
Watching them playfully bicker, Harry felt his blood gradually warming up.
I was almost moved to tears.
This is the true breath of a living person!
Harry was packed into the car along with his luggage.
As the car door slammed shut, Harry suddenly realized that Ethan was still outside.
"Aren't you getting in the car, Ethan?" Harry asked, puzzled.
"No."
Ethan said.
He put on a cloak that appeared out of nowhere and pulled up the hood.
Instantly, most of his face was hidden in the shadows.
All that could be seen was a pale chin, a slightly upturned mouth, and a cobalt blue eye gazing outwards.
"I had a date with a friend named Luna Lovegood to go shopping in Diagon Alley together and buy all the school supplies."
Ronnie: "At midnight?"
Ethan smiled, gazing at the bright moonlight, and murmured:
"Sometimes, the moonlight is the key to unlocking hidden places. And what we need to do is walk into them at the right time," Ron said. "Oh—" Ethan said, "meaning, to be alone and meditate undisturbed by the outside world."
Ron & Gemini: "Oh oh oh!"
Their eyes widened in excitement.
There's never been anyone like Ethan before, someone who's on the same wavelength as him and is even proactively called a "friend"!
Gemini couldn't wait to get to the bottom of things, but Ethan's smile was like an impenetrable fortress.
Having no other choice, I stepped on the gas, and the old car gradually started with a rumble.
Harry sat up straight from the tent, waving his arms frantically and shouting, "Thank you—" Ethan waved back, "I'll give you another birthday present!"
Harry:
"·......
Harry silently sat back down, watching his uncle's family being quickly left behind, and a sense of joy gradually returned to his heart.
"This is absolutely the best birthday I've ever had!" Harry exclaimed.
"Brother! Don't speak too soon! There's still a long way to go!"
Ron said with an air of nonchalance.
The two exchanged a glance, both grinning broadly and revealing their pearly white teeth. "Holy crap! Bird poop!!"
July 1th, 11:9 AM.
King's Cross Station, London, Platform 9.
After a deep whistle, the crimson steam train slowly began to move.
Ethan and Luna sat quietly in a private room, reading books.
Just then.
"Whoosh!"
The cubicle door opened, and Hermione's anxious face appeared.
Ethan looked up from "Harmless Little Curses—Starting with a Knotted Tongue" and asked, "The toad's gone again?"
Hermione: "No, worse. I can't find Harry and Ron anywhere."
She was absolutely frantic!
What if Harry and Ron miss the start of school?
"I must tell Prefect Percy that nothing is more important than Harry and Ron's disappearance right now—hmm? Your magazine is upside down." Hermione's sharp gaze fell on the magazine in Luna's hand, upside down.
Luna looked up, her face adorned with those exaggerated blue and pink glasses, which made Hermione's brows furrow sharply.
"Oh, hello there, I'm Luna Lovegood. Would you like a copy of the latest issue of 'The Quibbler'?"
Hermione: "No, no! What's more important now is Harry and Ron! They're missing!"
Luna listened patiently to her finish speaking, and then said softly:
"Alright then. Ethan used a new technique in this issue that allows the magical effects of the paintings to be transmitted through printing."
Before he could finish speaking...
Luna then felt a weight sink beside her.
Turning his head, he met Hermione's sparkling eyes.
"Please be sure to give me a copy, thank you!"
Luna watched with satisfaction as Hermione immersed herself in the painting "The Call of Eris," quieting down and becoming lost in a daze.
Until the pointer has completed half a circle.
Hermione suddenly snapped out of her daze.
wrong!
What is she doing here?!
"Harry and Ron—"
Luna interrupted her, gazing out the window, and said softly, "Sometimes, what we lose returns to us in an incredible way—"
Hermione: ?
"No matter what, Harry and Ron can't possibly be in heaven one by one!!"
Hermione lunged at the car window, staring blankly at the turquoise car tumbling up and down in mid-air.
And, there were two familiar figures in the car.
Hermione: ?!
Ethan's gaze swept past the petrified Hermione, met Luna's eyes, and he said approvingly:
"Look, this is the demeanor a club member should have. Although Ron hasn't passed the formal test yet, he has already shown excellent potential."
Luna nodded seriously and clenched her little fist: "Yes, I'll do my best."
Hermione: "...—."
Are they already brainwashing the freshmen before the semester even starts?
As expected of Ethan.
The Hogwarts dinner party.
"Ravenclaw!"
Almost as soon as the hat touched Luna's head, she screamed.
"I've never seen the Sorting Hat sort people into Ravenclaw so quickly."
Ethan's roommate, Mandy, who was third in the grade, clapped hesitantly from the side.
He spoke in a tone befitting someone who had spent several years at Hogwarts:
"You can hardly expect young wizards of this age to have much thirst for knowledge in their heads. Even I struggled with the hat for a minute or two back then."
However, Mandy quickly stopped talking.
He was surprised to see Ethan actually stand up, clapping his hands with a big smile on his face.
Not only him, but the entire academy noticed this unusual scene.
They gradually quieted down and began whispering among themselves.
Slytherin Prefect Gemma Farley slightly raised her chin, her expression indifferent.
Hermione pursed her lips, her eyes burning with fierce fighting spirit.
Luna seemed completely oblivious to the stares directed at her.
She took off her hat, and Professor Frivi, who was presiding over the ceremony, politely thanked her.
Then, with light steps, he ran towards Ravenclaw—Ethan's location.
"Welcome to Ravenclaw! Luna!"
Ethan opened his arms and warmly welcomed Luna.
The student next to him stood up and moved to a different spot.
"Here, you can learn true knowledge. Explore the secrets hidden behind the world and pursue the brilliant light hidden deep in the universe!"
His words were firm and resounding.
The new students who had just been assigned to Ravenclaw, as well as the young wizards who hadn't yet been sorted, all exclaimed "Wow!" with expressions of surprise and admiration. Ravenclaw sounds pretty good!
Only the older students had somewhat strange expressions.
I wondered:
The secrets behind the world? The radiance of the universe?
Have we ever searched for these things?
Never heard of it?!
I wonder if it was Ethan's speech that had an effect.
After that, more freshmen were assigned to Ravenclaw.
Professor Flitwick was so excited he almost jumped for joy.
He had a premonition.
Ethan and Luna Lovegood, the new student whom Ethan favors, are definitely a perfect pair!
He can lead Ravenclaw to unprecedented heights!
After enjoying a sumptuous dinner.
As is customary, Dumbledore took the stage and emphasized the important points.
But this year.
Do not cast spells in the Forbidden Forest or in the corridors of Filch.
Another new item has been added:
"...For your safety and well-being, if you see a dark door anywhere, please do not enter!"
Please ignore it and walk past it normally. It will disappear on its own after a while.
A solemn voice echoed in the auditorium.
The freshmen's faces turned pale.
This...this sounds terrifying!
The older students were trembling with fear, while only Ethan smiled brightly and sunnyly.
It was as if he had heard words of praise.
"What would happen if we went in?"
Ethan heard a freshman ask in a low voice.
He abruptly turned his head, looked at the freshman who was frozen in fear, and said gently:
"It's nothing. At most, you'll be teleported to a sealed room, automatically start a challenge, or enter a dazzling wardrobe universe."
......
The new student's eyes widened, and he trembled with fear.
Mom, it seems he's going on a long voyage QAQ
"in addition."
Dumbledore's voice softened as he glanced warily at Ethan at the Ravenclaw table.
"Recruitment for student clubs will be held next Monday. Club leaders can post their promotional posters on the bulletin board."
