Chapter 460 'Sentinel' Weapons

Chapter 460 'Sentinel' Weapons

Darkholm looked younger than Reed Strucker had imagined.

His black hair was neatly combed, and his sleek beard gave him a tough-guy look, but his narrow, snake-like eyes ruined his aura, making him appear somewhat sinister.

"Sir—"

Reed Strucker opened his mouth and shouted.

He was on the top floor of the Sentinel Headquarters building, where he was alone except for Supreme Commander Darkholm.

"Don't be nervous," Darkholm nodded in agreement.

How could Reed not be nervous? He seriously suspected that the other party already knew about his plan to help the mutants break out of prison, and that his trip might be fraught with danger.

"You've been personally promoted to a high-ranking officer by me as a Sentinel, there are some things you should know," Darkholm said, seemingly oblivious to Reed's nervousness.

"The Sentinels are ostensibly an armed organization created with the support of various governments, but in reality they are divided into two parts."

"Part of it is the Sentinel Special Police Team, which is composed of human troops, just like you did before."

"I am your supreme commander."

Reed Strucker didn't understand why the Supreme Commander was asking him this, so he could only play along and ask, "What about the rest?"

Darkholm lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and exhaled smoke rings as he said, "The other part—their existence is only known to a few people. The scientific teams responsible for experimenting on mutants in the prisons where mutants are held are their members."

"They are a force truly controlled by various governments, in order to develop super weapons that can completely eliminate mutants and even fight against Inhumans."

"Those super weapons are called Sentinels"—they are the real weapons used to combat mutants.

Reed Strucker had never heard of such a thing before, and he couldn't help but ask, "But even without those weapons, humans have already managed to mass-hunt mutants?"

Darkholm sneered: "What humanity needs is not simply to kill all mutants, but to create weapons that belong to humanity."

"They fear our talents because we are different—human beings always fear what they cannot understand."

Reed Strucker nodded mechanically, but he soon realized something was wrong.

What the Sentinel's supreme commander, Darkholm, just said seemed to be from a mutant's perspective?

Could it be?

Reed Strucker looked at Darkholm.

A rustling sound arose, and Darkholm's skin and clothes seemed to rise and fall like scales.

One second he was Darkholm with his black hair and cold expression, the next he had transformed into a red-haired woman with an amazing figure and a layer of blue-purple skin.

The sight of a perfectly healthy person suddenly transformed into this monstrous form startled even Reed Strucker, but he quickly regained his composure and tentatively asked, "Mystique?"

Before the great war between mutants, humans, and inhumans, Mystique's name circulated among the various factions within the Brotherhood of Mutants, but no one knew her real name or what she looked like.

But Reed was reminded of her by her signature ability to mimic others.

Raven Darkholm, who plays Mystique, nodded.

After his initial shock, Reed Strucker inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.

The irony that the Sentinel's Supreme Commander, who was tasked with dealing with mutants, was also a mutant caused Reed's brain to malfunction somewhat. Fortunately, his wife and children should be safe from any mishaps.

"Besides you, there are three other high-ranking Sentinel officers who, like you, are mutants themselves or have family members who are located in other mutant prisons."

"However, you are currently the only person in Garan Prison."

"I need you to cooperate with the mutants in carrying out their prison break plan—but unlike their plan to only rescue Polaris Lorna, I need you to help them blow the entire prison to the sky and rescue all the mutants."

Mystique Riven's words were astonishing. Reed Strucker had to press his knuckles against his temples to calm his shock, and retorted, "I witnessed the power of those mutants when I arrested Polaris Lorna. Their strength—a small-scale use of firearms is enough to deal with them. What makes you think that with me as an inside man, they can handle everyone in the prison?"

Mystique Riven's appearance once again transformed into Darkholme's dark hair and beard: "Reed Strucker, I thought sharing a name with that Mr. Fantastic would make you a little smarter, but it seems I was wrong."

Reed was completely bewildered. What did this have to do with him sharing the same name as that Mr. Fantastic?

However, it seems that Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards, hasn't made an appearance in a long time.

Seeing that Reed Strucker seemed genuinely dense, Mystique had no choice but to ask, "With Polaris Lorna around, what are you worried about?"

Polaris, who perfectly inherited Magneto's abilities, could indeed send the entire prison to the sky if she were to unleash her full power.

Reed Strucker then realized what was happening.

"We need to act quickly, otherwise, once the situation in Garan Prison is exposed, the real Sentinels will likely arrive with their weapons to suppress it."

After Mystique finished speaking, she gestured for Reed Strucker to leave quickly.

Reed didn't dare to hesitate. He hurriedly went up to the helipad, boarded the helicopter, and sped off towards Garland Prison.

After he left, Mystique walked to the French windows and watched the helicopter disappear into the horizon, muttering to herself, "The Illuminati haven't been behaving themselves lately—"

She looked down at a photograph in her hand, taken by the hidden Sentinel SWAT team when Connors and Peggy went to the hotel to rescue Xuan Yin.

Ant-Man, a member of the Illuminati, was lying in ambush on the floor of the Haunted House, attempting to take Connors away. The sentries downstairs overheard him with listening devices. Mystique couldn't understand why those guys who considered themselves the smartest would go out of their way to find a telepath.

On a moonlit night in the wilderness, a dilapidated bread cart moves forward at a steady pace.

Besides Connors, Thunderbird John, Eclipse Max, Skinny Peggy, Xuan Yin, and Flash, Omega also came along in the car.

-

"Only in the confined space of a train carriage can we remain unaffected by the Omega's power," Thunderbird John said.

Connors has used telepathy to share information about Omega with these mutants, and after the initial panic, they have come to accept Omega's eerie "Forget-Me-Not" ability.

"I am the most suitable person to infiltrate. I will be the first to enter the prison. Connors will be telepathically connected to me. You can come in after I confirm that the internal structure of the prison matches the blueprints."

Omega said with a confident look.
