Chapter 385 Zatanna and the Black Canary

Clark held Connors' hand tightly, repeatedly expressing his gratitude.

After a long while, the "Lord Superman" in white armor finally let go and looked at "Supergirl" Kara, who hadn't said a word yet, standing next to Connors.

“My father is Joe Al,” Clark said.

"He's my uncle," said Supergirl Cara.

Leaving aside the two Kryptonians' excitement at reuniting with family in a foreign land, Connors was halfway through his stretch when "Lord Lightning" Barry pulled him away from the side:

"Dude, you're finally back. This time, I'm taking you to that new hotel in Gotham to get completely drunk, no matter what."

Connors happily followed Barry away. Barry had mentioned the last time all the adults on Earth Zero were dragged into the Shadowlands by Morgan le Fay's son, when he came to Earth Three for help.

"You mentioned that the hotel owner is particularly beautiful. How's it going? Any progress in your relationship with her?" Connors asked.

Upon hearing this, Lord Lightning Barry's face immediately darkened:

"no."

Connors glanced at Barry unexpectedly, but thankfully Barry's expression quickly brightened.

"However, my relationship with a photo editor is progressing rapidly, and we might be married by the time you come back next time."

"Then why did you go to the Gotham bar? Aren't you afraid she'll get jealous?" Connors asked.

"I wasn't there for the proprietress anymore; I was there for the drinks," Barry explained.

The two walked down the street arm in arm. During this time, Connors told Barry about Green Lantern Hal's battle against Trigon, and Barry also told Connors about the Lords of Justice resurrecting Aquaman.

Soon the two arrived at the bar that Lord Lightning had mentioned.

Barry went to the bar to order drinks, while Connors sat idly in a booth, when suddenly he heard a commotion coming from the dance floor.

Connors looked over at the sound and saw a group of drunkards gathered in a circle. In the middle of them was a woman wearing a black leather vest and fishnet stockings over her two plump, long legs.

Connors recognized those two long legs because he had been squeezed by them many times before he left Earth III.

The person surrounded was the magician Zatanna; she wasn't being harassed, but rather performing a magic trick.

"Demons of the abyss, answer my prayers and call, grant us what we desire, and let us rejoice!"

"I'll give you the monkeys!"

A chattering sound suddenly came from the magic hat Zatanna was holding. She turned the hat upside down, and immediately many monkeys jumped out and ran around the bar.

Inside the bar, some people cheered, while others egged them on.

"I'm so tired of those monkey-and-rabbit magic tricks. Can't you come up with something new and interesting?"

Zatana gripped the brim of the hat with both hands, twirled it a few times, and then casually placed it on her head, shaking her head in refusal:

"No, I'm worried you'll expose the magic trick."

The drunkards immediately booed in unison, and just as they were about to continue their commotion, a man and a woman pushed their way out of the crowd, each grabbing one of Zatanna's hands, and said in unison:

"Go back to your seats."

The drunkards, who had been drinking and acting all fearless, rubbed their eyes and scattered after looking at the two people talking. One of them was the bar owner, and the other man looked like someone you didn't want to mess with.

A few people recognized Connors and, with their boldness and thick skin, held up their phones and asked for a photo.

Connors refused the alcoholics' request for a photo, held Zatanna's hand tightly, and turned to look at her other side.

On the other side, there was another person holding Zatanna's hand, and who had just said the same thing as him.

"Who are you?" Connors asked.

This woman was dressed very similarly to Zatanna, both wearing black leather vests, except one had fishnet stockings on her legs and the other had finer black stockings.

In addition, Zatanna wore a swallowtail evening gown, while this woman wore a jacket, with long, wavy blonde hair draped over her shoulders, and her eyes and brows exuded a heroic air.

Furthermore, her muscle definition was extremely smooth; in Connors's opinion, this woman was probably a skilled fighter.

"My name is Diana, and who are you?" she asked, her eyes filled with wariness as she looked at Connors.

Zatanna was a little confused, sandwiched between the two people. She looked left and right, and her expression gradually became cheerful:

"Connors!"

She immediately wanted to give Connors a big hug, but unfortunately, her other hand was firmly held by a woman in black stockings named Dina, who wouldn't let go.

He could only tilt his head back and give Connors a quick kiss.

Diana's eyebrows immediately rose; she seemed to know who Connors was.

"The man with this name who can make Zatanna kiss him on her own initiative, I think you must be the famous 'Outsider', right?"

Connors nodded. He never hid his face, so it was normal for someone on Earth 3 to recognize him.

Unexpectedly, when Diana saw Connors nod, her expression immediately changed from wary to delighted:

"real?"

"I don't think anyone in this world would dare to impersonate me, would they?" Connors said with a smile, realizing that the woman named Diana meant him no harm.

"Zuckerling has told me a lot about you, I never expected to run into you here." Dana extended a hand to Connors, speaking with grace and confidence. "My name is Dana, but you can call me 'Black Canary' according to your superhero terminology."

Black Canary!

Connors, a well-versed American comic book writer, would naturally know this woman who, despite being a second-tier actress, is one of the most beautiful women in DC.

He had made this guess when he first heard that the woman's name was Diana, and he never expected that he would be right.

"I have long admired you as well, Black Canary," Connors said, taking her hand.

Zatanna was caught in the middle again, looking left and right. Even with her magical powers, she was unsure of what to do.

Fortunately, Connors and Black Canary didn't hold hands tightly; they both kept their hands clasped, preventing Zatanna from standing there awkwardly for too long.

"Shall we find a place to sit down and talk slowly?" Black Canary Dina suggested.

Connors and Zatanna had no objections, but someone else spoke up:

"Wait, dude, I was just mixing a drink, and you've already hooked up with the bar owner?"

Connors looked over at the sound and saw that it was none other than Lord Lightning Barry, who had returned with a wine glass to find him.

"What do you mean by 'got it'?" Connors was about to correct Barry when he suddenly remembered what Barry had said and quickly turned to look at the black canary:

"Do you own this bar?"

The black canary nodded:

"That's right."

"Who is the boss?"

"I am the boss." Black Canary raised another willow-leaf eyebrow.

"Where's Oliver?"

Who is Oliver?

In the comics, Black Canary Dana and Green Arrow Oliver opened a flower shop together, but Green Arrow didn't exist in Earth-3, and Black Canary's shop changed from a flower shop to a bar. Connors clarified the whole story.
