Chapter 348 Understanding Black Widow
"Everything is ready, sir," Jarvis, the AI, said. "Enough to power this suit you've named the 'Anti-Phoenix Armor.'"
"Of course, this is without conducting any tests."
Iron Man remained expressionless until all the thousands of wires were fully connected to his armor, then with a "snap," a metal panel covered his face.
Immediately afterwards, the dim eyes on the suit lit up, and a series of programs began loading.
"Tests are for nerds, I'm a scientific genius, Jarvis."
Iron Man tried to keep his tone light:
"It's time to go all out. We are the vanguard and the leader."
"Right, Jarvis?"
Jarvis's voice remained as steady as ever:
"I wish you a safe return, sir."
As soon as he finished speaking, a colossal creature was activated. It was over thirty meters tall and its overall shape was similar to the "Celestials" that the mutants had dealt with before, but its appearance was even more bloated.
More than thirty reactors were distributed throughout the body of this massive metal behemoth, emitting a cold blue light as they were activated.
Above the "Anti-Phoenix Armor," Jarvis controlled the building to open a huge rift, and then this ultimate weapon, into which "Iron Man" had smashed countless zeros, began to rise into the air.
hum!
"Cyclops's" eyes are almost always emitting rays. Breaking off one of "Kusama's" arms wasn't enough. With a slight movement of his head, he was ready to blow "Kusama's" head off.
"Are you crazy, Summers?!"
Aside from Connors himself, no one knew that Connors was on the border of hell, and that what was here was just a dummy clone. Captain America rushed over with his shield raised, blocking Kusama's path, and cursed at Cyclops.
Connors, who was struggling to understand "Black Widow" on the border of hell, had withdrawn and was preparing to return to the surface of the moon when he saw "Captain America" blocking his way, so he stopped.
"I must die immediately, or others will get hurt."
Hope glanced at the back of "Captain America" who was standing in front of her and Connors.
"The purifying fire traveled across the stars, but it was all too late."
She raised her hands towards her head, intending to break her neck like in the movies.
But at that moment, Kusama stopped her with his only remaining hand, and Captain America anxiously whispered into the ever-active communication system:
"Hurry, Stark!"
The entire sky above the moon was filled with the "Phoenix Force," except for the very edge, almost touching the moon's "skyline."
The azure Earth hangs there.
The mutants and the Avengers were focused on Phoenix, Hope, and Connors, until a dazzling white beam of light shot out from Earth.
"Engine started."
The white light and mist became even more dazzling, as if a needle were piercing everyone's eyes.
It wasn't until the white light flew to the vicinity of the moon in the blink of an eye and shot straight toward the "Phoenix," which was hundreds or thousands of times larger than itself, that people could see it clearly.
It was a giant machine, gold and red in color, with a reactor on its chest that was more than three meters in diameter, and other smaller reactors all over its body. Its shape was angular and rugged, resembling a dump truck more than a suit of armor.
Hope stared blankly at the red and gold armor that charged towards the "Phoenix" without hesitation.
The "Phoenix" was hanging high above their heads. Hope knew better than anyone just how powerful the "Phoenix" was. And just then, someone who wasn't afraid of death rushed over and took the initiative to meet the "Phoenix".
"I hope everything goes well."
"Captain America," he murmured to himself.
"I hope everything goes well." After Captain America's voice fell, Iron Man's voice also came through the communication system.
Connors stared intently at the massive suit of armor.
Besides the beautiful women in the DC universe, Connors' biggest craving was the "Batmobile," and thankfully he did manage to drive it a few times.
In the Marvel universe, Connors' biggest craving is for all the different suits of armor worn by "Iron Man".
"Cyclops" stopped attacking at this moment. He quickly walked a few steps to Hope's side, preparing to pull the mutant girl away.
"Stay away from that girl."
The same words were spoken by the opposite person, with Captain America holding his shield and looking seriously at "Cyclops" Scott.
"Laser Eyes" froze.
"Time is running out. We need to get her out of here quickly. Wake up, stop going on like this," Captain America advised. Cyclops, who had taken several punches to the face during his fight with Captain America and whose nose was still bleeding, didn't bother to wipe it away and retorted:
"Madness? I'm trying to save my race, and you want to wipe us out."
"No one knows this better than me, and no one knows Hope better than me."
"It was all destined; Hope and Phoenix were destined to become one—and no one could stop it!"
As "Cyclops" Scott spoke these words, "Iron Man" had already arrived in front of "Phoenix" in his Anti-Phoenix armor.
Even though the armor is over thirty meters tall, which is quite large, you can only tell when you get close that it's not much bigger than an ant in front of the "Phoenix".
"Phoenix is within range, Disintegration Beam is ready to fire."
A series of charging sounds rang out as the Anti-Phoenix Armor aimed its launch port at the center of the "Phoenix's" body.
Without any hesitation, more than thirty reactors simultaneously emitted light, and beams of light lit up all over the armor's body. The huge centrifugal device that ran through the front and back of the armor spun at supersonic speed, bringing together the power from all parts of the armor.
A dazzling white light appeared once again, even momentarily overshadowing the "Phoenix's" orange-red glow, and they touched silently together in space.
Then, a violent tremor spread out from the "Phoenix" center, flattening the craters on the entire lunar surface. The Avengers and mutants in the artificial environment coughed up blood and were scattered in all directions due to the tremor.
Moments later, "Phoenix" had vanished, leaving only the superheroes on the moon's surface, their suits soaked in blood.
Disgusted.
"Ahem—Avengers, are they all still alive? Who else is alive?"
Captain America had burn marks on half of his face and was in excruciating pain all over his body. He struggled to get up and looked around. Everyone was either lying on the ground or sprawled out.
