Chapter 313 Taking Action

After a night of struggle, Connors was full of energy the next day. The physical qualities granted by "photosynthesis" and "human limits" made him completely unaware of fatigue.

But Storm and White Queen were exhausted, and the two mutants both chose to stay in bed.

Connors is also someone who doesn't like to get up early, but he didn't stay in bed today. Instead, he got up early and headed straight to New York, while also leaving Kusama behind as he walked towards the clock tower on Cracoa Island.

Here, "Mystery" Iliana seemed to have been waiting for a long time. Hearing Connors "Kusama Man's" footsteps, she turned her head with a half-smile and nodded at Connors.

"The battle last night seemed quite intense?" "Mystery" Iliana chewed her gum and looked at Connors with a mischievous grin.

"It's certainly not peaceful," Connors said honestly.

He stood atop the clock tower, gazing out over the entire island of Krakoa, where only a few mutant recruits and other members who were not part of the "Endangered Team" remained.

The "Endangered Team," along with another team on the island, the "Cleanup Team," went to deal with the problems left behind by "Mr. Ominous" after his retreat.

"Why didn't you go on missions with the 'Endangered Team'?" Connors asked, looking at Iliana's profile.

Just like in the comics, Magik Iliana has bangs and neatly styled long blonde hair. If it weren't for her gold and black armor, she would look more like a girl next door than a powerful mutant.

"You're injured, 'Lady of the Hill' and 'Wonder Woman' aren't on the island, 'Storm' has to take care of you, and 'White Queen' has just recovered—"

"Meganaut" Iliana and Connors stood side by side, gazing at the distant Great Sea Route:

"Someone has to stay behind to deal with any emergencies that might occur, right?"

Connors nodded; it was indeed a reasonable explanation, and the "emergency" was currently occurring in his location.

In New York City, Connors himself is suspended high in the air, looking down at Avengers Tower below.

One after another, figures soared into the sky; these were the Avengers who had detected Connors' presence and rushed over.

The first to be affected are "Iron Man" Tony Stark and "Thor".

Following behind them was Carol Danvers, known as "Ms. Marvel," with her long, radiant blonde hair and wearing a black school swimsuit adorned with a giant golden lightning bolt emblem.

"No offense intended, sir, but you shouldn't be hanging like this so brazenly in the sky above New York."

Iron Man Stark stopped abruptly before he could finish speaking. He recognized the person in front of him—the Locksmith, the new Omega-class mutant who had joined the Endangered Team.

Yesterday, footage of Connors facing the Celestials with the Endangered Team was broadcast globally, and Iron Man easily recognized Connors's appearance.

"I remember mutants all like to stay in one place and never come out, right? Are you planning to come to New York to have some fun?" Iron Man joked. "I can show you around."

Thor twirled his hammer to the side, and after recognizing Connors, he didn't bother to say anything and flew back to the ground.

He was not familiar with Connors, and Connors had never shown any strength in front of the world, so Thor was too lazy to communicate with strangers.

"Ms. Marvel" Carol Danvers looked at Connors with great curiosity. This woman had clearly heard of Connors's name as well, and asked curiously:

"A locksmith? It's a good thing you're not a villain, otherwise the world's bank vaults would be useless against you!"

Connors waved his hand modestly: "I have no interest in money."

Iron Man, standing to the side, nodded in agreement; he, too, was uninterested.

"What brings you to New York? Is there anything we, the Avengers, can do for you that mutants can't?" Iron Man asked.

Connors looked at "Iron Man" Stark with curiosity:

"You have speakers installed inside this suit? Logically, the sound should be muffled when you're inside."

Iron Man clicked open his mask, looking surprised.

"Do you have such a unique perspective on things? • There is indeed a speaker, but it's not quite the same as the traditional kind."

Connors didn't care about the specific differences; that wasn't his purpose in coming to New York either. Instead, he was looking for a creature in space that was rapidly approaching Earth.

In the early morning sky, before the rosy dawn had faded, a dazzling point of light pierced through the atmosphere, igniting with flames due to intense friction with the air, and flew straight toward us.

If they don't move, the UFO will collide with them.

Before they knew exactly what it was, Iron Man and Ms. Marvel wisely chose to stay far away.

But Connors remained suspended in place, motionless, his black smoke cloak billowing freely in the air behind him.

"Judging from his posture, it seems like he's planning to intercept that UFO?" Iron Man said with some doubt. "Jarvis, calculate the trajectory of the object."

The artificial intelligence Jarvis quickly completed the calculation:

"Sir, according to calculations, this flying object will crash near the Avengers Tower."

Iron Man glanced down at the Avengers Tower beneath his feet, then at the unidentified flying object in the distance that showed no signs of slowing down, and said with some dissatisfaction:

"Even with the naked eye, I can see that this flying object will eventually crash in the suburbs—Jarvis, perhaps you should upgrade."

"No, sir. The reason the object will crash near Avengers Tower is that it will collide with a passenger plane flying from the side."

"Friendly reminder: that passenger plane is carrying more than 300 passengers. We suggest you take immediate action."

As soon as Jarvis finished speaking, Iron Man quickly turned his head to the other side and found that there was indeed another plane flying towards them.

"Guys, we're in trouble." Iron Man only had time to say this in the communication system before rushing towards the unidentified flying object that was flashing with fire.

On the ground, Thor also spotted the unidentified flying object and the plane about to collide with him with his naked eye, and he quickly spun his hammer and rushed into the sky.

But it was too late. The unidentified flying object was less than 200 meters away from the plane. If they were flying at the same time, they would collide in less than a second.

Just as Iron Man stopped flying, the artificial intelligence Jarvis began to calculate the best way to rescue him, Thor cursed angrily, and Ms. Marvel couldn't help but cover her mouth.

Connors, positioned between the flying object and the airplane, raised his hand, placing his palms on both.

Other Avengers on the ground who noticed this scene, including ordinary people, couldn't help but stare wide-eyed at this seemingly "overconfident" guy.
