Chapter 311 Storm
Chapter 311 Storm
Storm Girl Ororo first listened quietly to the door for a while, and only after confirming that there were no extravagant sounds coming from inside did she raise her hand to knock on the door.
For some reason, she, who usually maintained a calm mind even when facing enemies, couldn't help but feel her heart racing at this moment.
I was imagining what I might see if I opened the door later, and what scenes I shouldn't see.
"Hopefully, it's over for the three of them—"
She lowered her head and thought nervously.
With a click, the door opened, and Storm Ororo quickly looked up. Seeing that it was Connors who opened the door for her, she quickly said:
"I'll change your dressing and re-bandage—"
Connors nodded and gestured for them to proceed.
"Please come in."
The room was simply furnished. Storm wasn't a first-time visitor; she went to the bedside with practiced ease, placed the first-aid kit she was carrying on the bedside table, opened it, and took out gauze.
"Lie down, I—"
Storm stopped mid-sentence because she could clearly see that Connors' arms were perfectly intact and had not been broken at all.
"Your arm?" Storm asked, somewhat shocked.
While there are mutants who can regenerate limbs, that's just their ability.
Putting them aside, the injury of "losing an arm" is considered quite serious by most mutants.
Connors has directly endured the out-of-control rays of "Cyclops," transferred the "White Queen's" injuries to himself, and even regenerated his severed arm in less than a day. He has already shown three suspected mutant abilities.
Storm was shocked, but her face didn't show much emotion. She put the gauze back in the first-aid kit and gestured with her chin towards Connors' shoulder:
How did you do that? Can we talk about it?
After she finished speaking, she realized she didn't need to ask; an unbelievable scene unfolded before her eyes:
Connors walked to the table in the room, shrugged his shoulders slightly, and his arms fell to the table with a thud.
Storm felt like her brain cells weren't working properly, and couldn't help but cover her head. She didn't speak until Connors lay back down on the bed as if nothing had happened:
"You—were you just 'locking' your arms to your body?"
Besides this reason, Storm could find no other explanation for what had just happened.
"That's right." Connors nodded. "This is also one of the abilities of the 'Master Lockpicker'."
Storm shook her head; she couldn't quite understand Connors's bizarre ability.
"Does your severed arm need to be re-bandaged?"
She glanced down and noticed that although Connors' arm wound was clean, blood was still flowing out, so she quickly took out the gauze she had just put back.
What followed was relatively simple. Storm Ororo carefully wrapped Connors' severed arm with gauze, her long white waves hanging down her cheeks without bothering to tuck them behind her ears.
Her meticulous and attentive demeanor, coupled with Storm's exquisite features, long white hair, and strapless battle dress, made her the most elegant and charming of all the Black women Connors had ever seen.
"Where are Wonder Woman and Lady Warrior? I don't think I've seen them all afternoon."
Storm noticed Connors staring intently at her, and her heart raced again. She quickly tried to find a topic to attract Connors' attention.
"They have some things to take care of," Connors replied very vaguely.
Seeing that Connors was unwilling to say more, Storm Ororo did not ask any further questions. After all, in the eyes of everyone in the current "Endangered Team", the two Dianas were at most Beta-level or Alpha-level mutants.
As long as Connors, an Omega-level mutant, remains on the island, the two of them certainly won't turn to other factions, such as the Academy led by "Wolverine".
"I'm curious, what exactly are your abilities? Simply calling yourself a 'Master Lockpicker' is too vague. Could you elaborate?"
After bandaging one of her arms, Storm went to the other side of the bed to continue bandaging, asking a question as she did so.
"It's precisely because my abilities have no specific scope that, theoretically, I can do anything," Connors replied, half-coaxing and half-lying.
Because Storm Ororo needed to carefully bandage her severed arm, she sat on a small stool by the bed, her upper body almost pressed against the bed, so much so that from Connors' perspective, the perfectly good purple rice bun was actually pressed into a thick pancake.
Storm was focused on her work, but it was clear that the pressure in her chest was making her uncomfortable, and she had to lift herself up from time to time.
Just as she raised herself up again to adjust her posture, Connors used "Polymer Chain Mimicry" to make the arm on the side closest to "Storm" suddenly grow out and steadily support the huge purple rice bun.
"It seems to be slightly larger than 'White Queen' Emma?" Connors felt the texture in his hand and couldn't help but squeeze it hard.
Storm was clearly caught off guard by Connors' sudden growth of arms, and even more so by his large, steady hand that supported her from below. The calm on her face was instantly shattered, and a hint of panic surfaced in her eyes:
"you-"
Her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she was about to scold Connors for his actions, but she leaned closer to the bed, pressing Connors's hand completely under the purple rice bun.
It was undeniably soft, and undeniably large. If it weren't for her skin color, Storm might even be a contender for the title of the most beautiful mutant. Connors thought to himself, watching the blush that flashed across Storm's face.
After letting Connors knead and play with her for a while, Storm finally couldn't resist:
"Be quiet for a bit—let me finish bandaging the wound! You can't move around too much, otherwise the blood vessels will..."
She had intended to say that frequent use of her hands could cause blood vessels to rupture and wounds to reopen, but then she suddenly remembered hearing the continuous sounds of "Wonder Woman" and "Lady of the House" coming from inside the room when she passed by it that afternoon.
She paused, lowered her head, and dared not look Connors in the eye. After a short silence, she whispered:
"No, don't wrinkle my battle suit."
She lay completely face down on the hospital bed, resting her head on Connors' chest, listening intently to his heartbeat.
"Tomorrow, the 'Endangered Team' will be dealing with the problems left behind by 'Mr. Ominous.' Since you're injured, you don't need to go. I've also applied to stay and take care of you—"
Storm's voice was barely audible, but Connors, with his excellent hearing, heard it clearly.
In this situation, Connors almost instantly understood what Storm meant by those words.
