Chapter 139 The Three-Body War
"No!"
Zatanna watched as the magic box landed, and Wonder Woman stood beside it, unable to help but gasp in surprise.
If Wonder Woman were to access the Pandora's Box again, the evil Wonder Woman and Shazam would wipe out all the superheroes present.
She watched helplessly as Wonder Woman reached for the box, but another hand snatched it away before she could.
He held it in his arms.
Constantine, smoking a cigarette, stood beside the superheroes, leisurely watching them:
"If you ask me, a single magic box has turned you wolves and foxes into this state; you must have a lot of evil in your hearts."
"Don't touch it! It will corrode you!"
Pandora saw another guy interfering on the field and she shouted in a state of near collapse.
"Corrupt whom? Me?"
Constantine, holding the Pandora's Box, stood there perfectly fine, completely unharmed.
"Although what the outsider said was harsh, he was right—my soul is already filthy, and the Pandora's box has no effect on me at all."
As soon as he finished speaking, Constantine disappeared.
The superheroes looked at each other, and Zatanna asked in confusion:
"Where did that guy go? — Oh, Shazam's influence is still there; I can find his location."
Constantine went to a temple.
On Batman's side, Deadman, as a superhero on the magical side, was also affected by the resonance between Shazam and the Box.
"Dead man, are you alright?"
The Flash watched as the "dead man" clutched his head, his eyes glowing crimson. Although he had disappeared, he still asked with concern.
"I'm fine, but for a moment I felt like my head was going to explode. Of course, I'm already a dead person, the kind that's invisible and intangible, so that kind of thing won't happen."
"Dead man," he said to the Flash, covering his forehead.
"So what exactly happened?" Batman asked.
"There was some kind of large-scale interference on the magical level, the kind that's extremely large-scale—" the dead man said, recalling his feelings just now, with a slight sense of lingering fear.
"Then—" The Flash was about to continue asking when Batman stopped him, letting the "dead man" continue.
"For about a second, all the magic in my body screamed and wanted to burst out and tear everything apart, but it's much better now, and I can feel everyone—"
"Zatana, Constantine, Stargirl, and even a guy I've never seen before wearing a golden helmet."
"And that new superhuman Shazam, I sense he's at the center of it all—"
"Shazam?" Steve, the leader of the Justice League of America, asked in confusion.
Batman, however, was concerned with something else:
"Wait, you mean you can sense everyone's presence?"
The "dead man" nodded, confirming Batman's statement:
"Yes, it's me—Lady Shangdu! I think I can find her! If we can get her to tell us everything about the future, we can avoid it all!"
"No time to lose, let's get on the plane first," Batman decided immediately.
His Batplane swiftly descended from the clouds, carrying the superheroes rapidly toward the location of Lady Shangdu, which the "dead" had sensed.
When they arrived, they were surprised to find Constantine and Connors, along with Lady Shangdu and Atom Girl, all four of them.
"Your cigarette isn't good, try mine."
"How about I blow a magic smoke ring for you? Pretty cool, right?"
"I can do that too, watch me demonstrate!"
Connors and Constantine were exchanging rations, with Constantine still holding the magic box, which they were using as an ashtray.
"Cough cough cough—I'm choking!"
"Atomic Girl" Rhonda Panida said, fanning her face with one hand while puffing out her cheeks to blow away the smoke that drifted in front of her.
Lady Shangdu was drenched in sweat, but she looked at everything before her without the slightest panic.
The four of them looked as if they were on vacation at a beach.
"Stay where you are!" Batman shouted, his target being all four of them, not just one of them.
"Connors? Shangdu? Constantine?"
The "dead man" greeted her with a puzzled look; he didn't recognize "Atom Girl"—he only knew she was a member of the Justice League.
"Hand over the Pandora's Box, Constantine," Batman said coldly to Constantine.
Constantine promptly refused and handed the magic box slightly towards Connors so that Connors could flick his cigarette ash.
"No, bat. It's better if I hold it; my hands have magic—you know what I mean."
Catwoman put a hand to her ear, waved twice at Connors as a greeting, and then addressed the crowd:
"No, wait, let's ask Lady Shangdu what exactly happened first?"
Lady Shangdu smiled as she looked at the superheroes crowding together in the underground space.
The Mysterious House has been put away by Connors; this place is just an ordinary cave filled with plants.
"I have seen the truth, and now I can finally tell you that Pandora was wrong. That box is not a prison for evil."
"That's a door."
.
Lady Shangdu said to the superheroes.
To avoid saying too much and affecting Connors, she did not reveal much information.
But that was enough. Led by Lady Shangdu, Connors politely addressed the team of three Justice League members led by Batman:
"She's right, it really is a door."
"And now it's time to open it."
Batman instinctively assumed a fighting stance:
"outsider?"
Other superheroes exclaimed in surprise:
"Connors? Is all of this related to you?"
"Aren't you the superhero who saved the whole world? — Even if you don't admit it and call yourself an 'outsider'."
"You also orchestrated the framing of Superman and the death of Doctor Light?"
"You're my idol, outsider."
Connors, seeing the incredulous looks on the superheroes' faces, smiled and said to them:
"That's right, I did it all. I'm the mastermind. You'll have to wait before you settle accounts. Wonder Woman and Superman are here with their respective teams."
Outside the temple, Wonder Woman, with Zatanna's help, leads the superheroes down from the sky.
Her companions include Frankenstein's monster, Zatanna, Hawkman, Aquaman, Black Orchid, Stargirl, and Pandora.
Superman's team also gathered after Cyborg tracked Batman's signal.
Following behind him were Cyborg, Firestorm, Green Arrow, Elementalist, Martian Manhunter, and Questioner.
Inside the temple, Batman is confronting Connors. Standing on Batman's side are:
Steve, Dead Man, Catwoman, The Flash, Lantern, Samurai Sword, Shockwave.
Among them, the "Original Sin Trinity" was judged as a sinner by the Immortal Council and the wizard Shazam before the "Stone of Immortality" in ancient times.
Pandora, the Questioner, and the Phantom Stranger were all part of the Justice League's Big Three, with the Phantom Stranger being erased from Heaven.
Among the three factions, those who do not participate in the battle on any side include Connors, Shazam, Connors, and Constantine.
Atomic Girl, Lady of Shangdu.
This faction is called "Outsiders".
Shazam's suit remains black to this day, as if he is unable to return to his original form, constantly resonating with the Pandora's Box.
The Pandora's Box remained in Constantine's hands throughout, constantly influencing those around him, except for the "outsiders" whose information was locked away by Connors' "Amplification" and "Master of Lockpicking".
"Where does that magic box lead, Lady Shangdu?" Batman asked in a deep voice.
"Before you ask that question, you'd better stand back, Bat. All of you, back off, now," Constantine warned the superheroes.
However, no one listened to him, and Batman led his team to stand still:
"So, you can then legitimately take possession of the Pandora's Box?"
"This cruel thing will corrupt anyone who comes into contact with it, except for Constantine, who is beyond saving," Connors said.
"You're really rude." Constantine snatched the cigarette from Connors' mouth and threw it on the ground in retaliation. "But it's true, these guys in capes can't handle the evil thoughts deep in their hearts. Shazam is a prime example."
"You've always avoided the Magic Box, I suppose you have this concern too? You're much kinder than me, but sometimes even I get angry at you."
Constantine spoke to Connors as if no one else was around, then looked around and saw that almost everyone in the group led by the Big Three had a red gleam in their eyes:
"Oh."
Flames, cyclones, frost, mud, fists and feet, swords, chains, darts, arrows, bullets, green light, lightning, beams of light, ironic magic.
These superheroes used their powers almost simultaneously, reducing the Temple of Hephaestus to ashes in less than a second.
The Three-Body Problem war has officially begun.
