Chapter 18 Let's drink first as a sign of respect

Connors wasn't going to go find the Flash himself.

He didn't have much ability to find people; even when looking for Harley Quinn in Gotham City, he had to get involved because that little madwoman caused some trouble.

With his super speed, the Flash, Barry, might be someone you'd never see in your lifetime if he didn't want you to.

He was to inform Batman of the "world's destruction" prophecy, so that Batman could contact the Flash, Barry.

As the absolute brain of DC, Connors estimated that this guy's database contained the addresses, contact information, and countermeasures of all the superheroes.

They might even have their own in there.

"I need to verify if what you said is true. If it is, I will tell you about the 'spider silk'. If it is false, then there's nothing more to say."

Connors turned and left.

He wasn't particularly interested in the beautiful spy for the time being, but "Black Widow" Natasha wasn't having it and got up to follow him.

"You don't mind if I come with you, do you?"

"It's nothing," Connors waved his hand dismissively.

Once he left the Iceberg Club, at the dark corner of the street in the early morning, just a second before Natasha followed him, he transformed from a strong and handsome tall figure into a homeless man lying on the roadside begging.

His eyes lingered on the black-stockinged thighs that passed by, and after fully embodying the appearance of a homeless person, he casually tossed his clothes aside.

The clothes burst into flames out of thin air, and by the time they hit the ground, they were burned to ashes, which spilled into the drainpipe on the ground.

He himself was wearing a burgundy suit and walked in the opposite direction.

As a professional spy, to have lost track of the man made Natasha realize even more how terrifying he was, but she quickly put on a confident smile:

"No matter what methods you used, you couldn't detect this hair-shaped tracker, could you?"

She held a soft screen in her hand, which showed the tracker's red dot moving away in the opposite direction from her.

She folded the screen like a piece of paper and stuffed it into her black stockings, making it impossible to spot at a glance. Then she chased after Connors.

Connors, after walking some distance, suddenly realized something belatedly:

"I was just thinking about going to find Lord Wayne to contact Flash Barry and confirm whether what Natasha said was true... but I have no idea where Wayne Manor is."

He genuinely didn't know that he had been in Gotham City for less than a month, and had been so busy watching the drama unfold that he hadn't bothered to find out where this big spender lived.

Fortunately, Gotham is never short of places to get information.

The Ghostface Bar, a place Connors frequented before meeting Harley Quinn, is where he finally returned after many days.

"Look, who's here." A sharp-eyed guest immediately spotted Connors, whose attire was no different from usual.

"Shh..." The two guys who had started shouting after drinking a glass of cheap malt liquor quickly lowered their voices.

"...Am I that scary? It's just that you guys were drunk and I beat you up before, right?" Connors said speechlessly, looking at the group of people making a fuss.

His words, if left unsaid, would have been better; as soon as they were spoken, many people immediately recalled the first time they saw Connors:

Holding a wine glass in one hand and grabbing the provocateur by the back of the neck with the other, he counted the letters in the insulting and provocative words. For every letter, he slammed the provocateur's head against the wall.

From then on, everyone knew he was a ruthless character, and some even speculated that it was actually Batman in disguise...

"Don't be nervous, I love it here, coming back to this bar feels like coming home," Connors reassured the group of patrons. "Let me ask around, does anyone know where the richest guy in Gotham lives?"

Soon, several drinkers who had never uttered any insults to him and who occasionally exchanged a few words with him pieced together the address of Wayne Manor clearly.

Make a mental note of it, and then Connors went to the bar and ordered a beer.

"Paterson, you haven't been here for days. What's up? Got some new fun?" the bartender teased.

The bartender was also the owner. Being able to run a bar in Gotham meant he had some influence and connections, which made him feel that he could talk to Connors on equal terms, unlike the others.

Connors didn't seem to mind the bartender's teasing. After downing his beer in two gulps, he casually patted the bartender on the shoulder.

"Yes, there's something new to have fun with. Here it is."

The bartender followed Connors' gaze and looked outside, where a stunningly beautiful woman with long, flowing red hair was walking toward them.

Just as he was about to make a joke—how could such a stunning beauty come to his bar, which was full of rough men—he saw the red-haired beauty swaying her hips as she walked in.

Glug!

Everyone in the bar couldn't help but swallow hard, and many people brazenly looked him up and down.

"Connor... eh?" The bartender turned around and found that Connors had already walked outside the bar at some point, but he did not continue to chat with him. Instead, he looked at the red-haired beauty who had walked to the bar.

"Beautiful lady, you are like a blooming poppy..."

The bartender was speaking when he saw the beautiful woman's delicate hand reach towards his shoulder... and then pick up a long, thin strand of hair.

Natasha frowned, looking at the hair tracker with a hint of exasperation. She heard a click and realized that Connors was standing outside the bar, locking the door from the inside.

Just as she was about to grab a chair, smash the door, and chase after Connors, seven or eight men with big bellies and reeking of alcohol surrounded her.

Without making a sound, the bartender reached under the bar and pulled out the shotgun he used to intimidate these people.

half an hour.

Inside the bar, including the bartenders, no one was standing; everyone was either lying on the ground or sprawled out, their cries of pain echoing throughout.

Natasha, the "Black Widow," sat on the table, lit a cigarette with a snap, then picked up the bartender's shotgun and fired a shot at the bar door.

Glass shattered on the ground, and she tossed the shotgun aside, but Connors had already disappeared from sight.

Not only did she not know where Connors was, but even Connors himself didn't know.

—He shamefully got lost.

Gotham is so big, with a complex network of roads, how could he possibly find the location of Wayne Manor?

Standing in front of the most luxurious skyscraper he had ever seen, Connors noticed that the sign on it read "Andrew Hotel" instead of "Wayne Group".

"Sigh... I miss Gaode Maps." Connors sighed and prepared to go inside to ask for directions again.

……

Xuexi's concert schedule was canceled, and even though all ticket money was fully refunded, it still caused dissatisfaction among many fans.

To make up for it, Xuexi, as a star singer, has invited Gotham's most famous aerial acrobatic family, "The Flying Graysons," to perform on stage tomorrow and the day after.

The arrangement was fine, but her hook-nosed manager had gone mad for some reason, knocking on Xuexi's door in the middle of the night, dressed in a suit and tie and holding roses.

Having the ability to control ice and snow, she naturally wasn't worried about her own safety. However, after opening the door, she was met with her manager's crazy declarations of love, which made Xuexi feel quite annoyed.

After her wild night with that man whose name she didn't even know yesterday, she found herself becoming averse to contact with other people without even realizing it, and instead couldn't forget the man who had given her leverage over him.

So she decided to go to the hotel rooftop to get some fresh air and calm down.

Then, she saw Connors standing in front of the hotel, looking helpless, and the remaining Poison Ivy hormones in her body began to take effect.

At the same time, Connors, who possesses spider-sense, also discovers the presence of the superstar Xuexi, and the Green of All Things can sense her restlessness.

"I'll drink first as a sign of respect..."
