Hades' tone became firm.
"Hey?! No?! Hades, what are you doing?!"
[Karas] cried out in astonishment, only to see [Hades] turn around resolutely.
“Karas Typhon… This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If we don’t seize it, we’ll never see the sun rise again. We have ten minutes to get down the mountain. Will you come?”
"What the hell are you doing?! You're telling me that because of your dream, you're going to run away with someone you've only known for less than five minutes?!"
"So your answer is a refusal, Karas."
Hades sighed as he began to walk down the mountain, while Mortarian followed silently behind him.
"I think we'll meet again—Karas, good luck."
Then Hades started running at full speed—he didn't want to stop for even a second longer!
"Wait—what the hell—what the hell?!"
Karas's curses echoed far behind Hades, and even the poisonous fog seemed to be shaken by Karas's hysterical, collapsing screams.
"Don't you know that Nacre is a system of collective punishment—even if you run away, I'll still die?!"
I know.
Hades' gaze was unwavering.
That's why he chose to run away directly; arguing with someone like Karas is pointless, you'll never get anywhere with him.
But he knew how to get [Karas] moving.
Sure enough, seven minutes later, Karas, who was almost freefalling from above, caught up with them. With a psionic buffer, Karas looked like his back was about to break.
"His name is Karas Typhon! Mortarian!"
Hades shouted at the Primarch who was strolling leisurely behind him.
"Matchmaking successful! Confirmed! Let's team up as a trio from now on!"
"Hades, you son of a bitch?!"
"Don't bark, Karas! Trust me!"
[......]
[Hello, Karas Typhon, this is Mortarian.]
"Ughhhhhhh! They're all crazy! Your mother!!!"
Surprisingly, Mortarian felt far more at ease walking alongside two arguing people through thorns and poisonous gas than he did amidst the gold heaps of the palace.
A new round of hardship is slowly unfolding before his eyes, but unlike before, he will experience a period of growth where pain and reward coexist.
Until Hades died.
No more.
What I mean is, if you've never eaten shit, you should watch The Battle of Two Cities 2.
Also, I want to buy merchandise for Battle of Two Cities 2, because the characters are too unpopular and there's nothing available.
Guess whose merchandise I want to buy?
Hilko, and shake! Shake! Sway! Shake!
Chapter 803 [245] Illness, loss of appetite, lethargy, near death
crackle.
A spark rose from the furnace fire, floated lightly into the air, exploded with a soft pop, and finally vanished brightly into nothingness.
The room was clean and warm at the moment, and freshly baked desserts, along with the lingering warmth of strong tea, slowly filled the entire room.
Hades hesitated over the pastry in his hand.
Finally, he put down his tea break, and the mixture of flour, sugar, and oil returned to the plate, the greasy porcelain surface reflecting the faces of the two people talking.
"Feel sorry."
Hades said his expression was hidden in the shadows; the Primarch could see darkness hundreds of miles away, but could not see through the shadow emanating from Hades.
“I am saddened by the story you told… but I think… if I were in that situation, I would have done the same thing as him, and for another ‘me,’ it might have meant relief.”
No need to apologize.
【Motalian】said softly, the pain of the past and memories still wounding him, causing his organs to twist and ache.
[This is...this is the past we created together...a fact that has already happened.]
"I regret what happened to another version of myself, but I believe I won't regret the last one."
I won't regret it...
Won't you regret it?
【Motalian】 looked up at Hades opposite him. This was a completely different Hades, one who existed in his destiny line two years earlier.
If he had arrived in Barbaros sooner...
Perhaps he doesn't have to be so sad now.
Hades may not regret it. The dead will never say anything more. Only the living struggle in the painful reality, relying on past dreams for solace, and blinding their overly sharp eyes.

[Another Fate Line]
【past】
The newly established outpost is currently in an uproar, as Mortarion, the leader of the Death Guards, has opened the granary for the rare occasion of allowing people to celebrate for a day.
A bonfire blazed brightly in the center of the stronghold. Mortarion quietly stood up, declined another round of toasts from the people, and the Primarch shook his head, indicating that he needed to leave for a moment.
The soldiers wisely left, knowing that the Primarch was going to visit the "invisible man."
He kept his presence as inconspicuous as possible, walked past countless houses, and finally arrived at a small hut on the edge of the stronghold, where [Karas] was already impatiently waiting for [Motalian].
【Motalian】winks.
[You've returned very early this time, Karas.]
Because he was previously a subordinate of Nacre and had even slaughtered several villages, Karas was not well accepted by most Barbalus people. A small group of Barbalus people called him a tyrant and were willing to follow Karas in the war against the alien lord.
[Karas] coughed and spat on the ground.
"You know, there's only one thorn left—the rest of the places are just patrols, checking to see if any have slipped through the net."
Despite being initially rejected and misunderstood, Mortarion, Hades, and Karas managed to raise a force in Barbarus based on their achievements. As the only resistance force, this force grew larger and larger, and they won many battles.
Now, only Nacre remains, nestled atop the highest mountain in Barbarus, untouched by the Death Guard.
[I'm planning how to attack Nacre...Karas, no need to rush.]
"I never mentioned that I was in a hurry; you're the one who's in a hurry."
[Karas] raised an eyebrow, speaking sarcastically, then glanced at the house next to them.
"I guess this is his wish?"
[This is our wish, Typhon.]
[Motalian] said calmly,
[Don't you want to kill Nacre?]
"I certainly hope so."
Recalling Nacre's actions back then, Karas's face twisted for a moment, but then returned to a bitter and resentful expression.
Why don't you go in and see him?
[Motalian] nodded toward the house, while [Karas] gave a mocking laugh.
"His girlfriend and his little fanboy are inside. I don't need to go and cause trouble—if a weirdo goes to the patient's bedside to annoy him, I'll get yelled at by those two little brats."
Herrera and Vox?
[Motalian] thought of it.
Hades once pretended to let people from two villages go during his time in the slave-catching team in Nacre, including Herella and Herella's family. The little girl remembered Hades because of this, and when Mortarion was looking for medical personnel for Hades, she volunteered and often brought extra food for Hades herself.
Later, Mortarion learned more details, and Hades' actions could hardly be described as feigned release; he even shielded the little girl from a puppet's attack—
This is simply outrageous; no wonder Nacre kicked him off the cliff.
The two were of similar age and were a handsome man and a beautiful woman. If Hades hadn't fallen ill, Mortarian would have been happy to witness the couple's relationship. After all, everything on Barbarus was a mess, and the two of them had reached a point where they could start a family.
However, Hades seems to be consistently refusing, so the Primarch has remained silent on the matter.
Vox is a valiant little fellow who was brought back by Hades after he fled and helped a village kill monsters. Hades seems to value Vox's fighting abilities, and Vox is grateful to Hades for bringing him to Deathguard.
While Mortarion led his army and Karas went out to fight, Hades would teach Herrera and Vox things, sometimes calculations, sometimes how to fight, and sometimes how to process documents.
Mortarian was puzzled as to why Hades would teach them how to process documents that were never even mentioned in Barbarossa, but Hades shook his head and said that Mortarian would thank him for doing so sooner or later.
…………
[Motalian] stood silently beside [Karas], waiting for [Herrera] and [Vox] to come out.
How has he been lately?
[Karas] suddenly asked.
[Not very good.]
【Motalian】answered truthfully.
[Barbarus's environment has been eroding him; his soulless constitution makes him more susceptible to the corrupting influence of psionic environments than ordinary people... I'm trying to find ways to make him healthier, but he's not eating enough and his nutritional intake is insufficient.]
[Karas] frowned, recalling how Hades would practically vomit after every bite he took while serving Nacre.
Even though he ate the same food as Hades, Hades' tolerance for food was far lower than Karas', as if he had eaten some delicacies before and become picky about food.
"You fussy thing—can't you just let him eat something good?"
[Motalian] glanced at [Kalas],
[To get him to eat, Herrera's cooking skills were already the best in the entire Death Guard; even her ruined porridge was fought over—at least six young men had proposed to Herrera simply because of her cooking.]
"Ah."
[Karas] sneered and shouted loudly,
"I'm sure it was some kind of junk food, but you all ate so badly, Mortarian."
Just as Karas was saying this, the door opened, and Herrera and Vox, their faces streaked with tears, came out. Herrera was carrying a plate of pastries that looked a little disturbed.
Herrera looked in Karas's direction, her expression immediately darkening. She strode over, casually stuffing the cold pastries from the plate into Karas's mouth.
[Karas] tried to resist, but failed in her struggle for freedom and was forced to eat by her hair.
[Vox] pretended not to see anything, gave [Motalian] a simple bow, and then left.
"Keep barking, keep barking, Karas."
【Herrera】waved her hand and threw the few dog hairs she was holding onto the ground.
【Karas】chewed, trying to argue incoherently, but finally shut his mouth, swallowing the food in his mouth with a dark face.
"That's all."
Karas said, while Herrera rolled her eyes, shoved the plate into Mortarian's hands, and turned to leave.
[Motalian] blinked silently and began cleaning the food.
Herrera's figure had barely disappeared from their sight when Karas immediately spoke.
"Give me one more,"
[Motalian] said nothing, but simply moved the plate in his hand towards [Karas].
"I didn't eat dinner last night."
Karas added that Mortarian chose to believe him, perhaps.
“Two disrespectful little idiots… They should respect us more; Hades spoils them too much.”
