“Since you haven’t expelled me, it proves that you also want to talk—so I suggest we switch to pure physical form now, that way it will at least be a little more comfortable.”
With the black crown given by Tarasin, Hades has already suppressed the Black Domain to its smallest possible extent.
After he finished speaking, the room fell silent again, and the situation reached a stalemate.
This actually confused Hades, but fortunately, [Motalian], who was breathing heavily in the corner of the room, finally reacted.
[Sorry, give me a moment to... adapt to this world.]
What the hell!
Hades thought, "A Mortarian who can apologize!" This is definitely a rare breed, a unique Mortarian.
Could it be... could it be that different fate lines are added by politeness?
"Okay, I can wait."
Hades said, as he cautiously walked to the sofa opposite the single sofa and sat down. Guilliman must have been thinking about the scene of Primarchs talking to each other, so there were two single sofas the size of Primarchs here.
Hades glanced at the snacks on the coffee table; they were still prepared by Guilliman, and Mortalian hadn't touched them at all.
Hades then began to pick up items automatically.
Hades ate while surveying the room. The Mortarion hadn't left any trace of itself in the room, which meant Hades couldn't obtain much information.
Hades only knew that the person opposite him was the leader of the heretics... which meant that this [Motalian] was extremely dangerous, and he had better not be careless.
However... Mortarion is still breathing with his back to Hades.
Hades wore a helpless expression and began to wait quickly.
………………
Breathe...take a deep breath...you can do it...
[Motalian] felt his heart pounding wildly; he wasn't sure if it was from fear, excitement, or both.
He didn't need to turn around; the being in his spiritual vision was right behind him, the chaotic, foolish darkness dripping droplets onto the floor powerful enough to penetrate any psionic being.
But what would he see if he turned around?
Will he see Hades? Or is it another being?
Could it be the Hades from his memories? Or a terrifying monster?
[Motalian] took a deep breath; he nervously wanted to inhale the gas again, but he couldn't do that now—turning his back to the guest was already impolite enough.
If he had instigated his other Primarch brothers in the past, this action would have ruined his plan long ago.
But he did it instinctively, without thinking, darting to the furthest corner from Hades just before Hades opened the door.
He was still afraid.
Do not……
[Motalian] thought, you must face it, you cannot run away, this is the situation he has been waiting for for ten thousand years - you must not lose this precious opportunity because of your own cowardice.
There is only one chance. If he doesn't seize it, then Mortarion will fall back into the situation where it is controlled by Guilliman.
Take a deep breath, and then take another deep breath...
After taking its seventh deep breath, as if it had made up its mind, [Motalian] in the corner finally took action.
He turned around slowly, almost comically so.
Hades straightened up, holding a tea snack in one hand, and turned to look at [Motalian] with interest.
Hades suddenly opened his eyes wide.
What did he see? !
Good heavens! Is this still Mortalian?
Hades saw a... uh... a thin one, but not as emaciated as Mortarion, and this Mortarion's face was wrinkle-free, smooth like a waxed marble floor.
He wasn't wearing a mask, thus revealing his nose, which was higher than that of a typical Primarch—Mortalian here in Hades had an excessively high and prominent nose, a huge hooked nose.
Clearly, he's not as handsome as this [Motalian].
This [Motalian] has clearly taken care of himself; his hair is neat and not frizzy. Even Hades once complained that Motalian in this timeline had messy hair that looked like a mop head.
But what puzzled Hades the most was...
[Motalian] had his eyes closed at the moment, his long eyelashes trembling as his eyeballs twitched, and a trendy black teardrop tattoo was tattooed under the corner of his eye.
Why doesn't he open his eyes?
Hades was completely bewildered.
"Are you ok?"
He said he realized he seemed a bit too stimulating to the warp creatures who had never seen him before.
“If you still can’t accept anti-psychic energy—then I’ll come back next time.”
Hades said he could see that almost every muscle and soul of the Mortarion was resisting his arrival.
Is it inevitable that we'll have to return empty-handed?
Hades realized that Mortarion's reaction didn't seem like it could be communicated with, so he finished off the last smiley face cookie on his plate, clapped his hands, and got up to leave.
"Then I won't bother you—"
Don't go.
[Motalian] hastily interrupted Hades, then, as if having made a tremendous decision, the Primarch began to slowly move his feet, inching towards Hades's position—
Mortarion turned his head away from Hades, as if nothing would happen if he didn't look.
...?
Even Hades found the scene rather comical. Unlike the Primarch's handsome and well-dressed appearance, the current Mortarion operation resembled that of a child.
Facing Hades directly probably requires immense courage.
The more one is immersed in psychic energy, the stronger the negative effects will be when facing Hades.
Moreover, Mortarion did not know whether Hades would attack him directly.
So he just wants to communicate.
Hades realized that Guilliman was right. Hades' gaze fell on the psionic shackles around Mortalian's neck... they seemed to be a mixture of Imperial and Tzeentch psionic powers... What exactly happened in that other timeline?
Hades sat down again and casually asked the servants to bring over another food cart.
He then began to admire Mortarion's moving performance—a scene that was not common, at least his Mortarion usually wouldn't act so stupidly.
Finally, a minute later, the resilient Mortarian arrived at his single sofa.
His face finally turned towards Hades, but he still didn't open his eyes.
Hades waited patiently; in 27 seconds, the new food cart would be pushed over.
I have a question.
[Motalian] tried to keep his voice as calm as possible, but he knew there was a noticeable tremor in it. It was all over.
He was well aware of how absurd and ridiculous his actions had been, but being alone in a room with such a being required immense courage.
He could easily fire a shrieking shot at that being, or simply run away as if fleeing for his life.
But staying rational and sitting down to talk to him is even more difficult.
"You ask."
Mortalian had adapted to the low psionic environment here. He tried his best to attach himself to the dimensions of the physical world and finally heard Hades' words clearly.
This was a hoarser, deeper, and more composed voice than Hades' voice in his memory... and a colder one, with a hint of murderous intent.
Killing intent... Yes, killing intent. [Motalian] clearly heard this feeling. That being had killed countless warp creatures, so much so that his voice subconsciously contained killing intent towards psionic beings.
He became even more timid as a result.
[Are you... Hades?]
The high-gothic word "Pluto" carries a magical quality. From a psionic perspective, Mortarian clearly saw a wisp of his soul fall into the black hole after he uttered the word, causing the black hole to become active for a moment.
Such restraint over the existence of the subspace... this is a treasure bestowed upon this branch by fate.
"Yes, I am."
[Is that Hades...?]
[Motalian]'s voice trembled slightly.
"Yes, I am Hades."
[The one from Barbarossa?]
"Barbarus's—could there be other landing points in other fate lines? I hope it's Macurag."
The voice on the other end of the line contained a hint of laughter.
[It can't be Macurag!!!]
[Motalian] roared, his angry subconscious retort, "How could it be Macragge—? ??? Hades, no matter how despicable, would never choose to be [Guilliman's] subordinate!"
But then, Mortarian realized that his subconscious rebuttal had made him open his eyes. He had already seen it. Mortarian took a step back and almost tripped over the armchair behind him, falling backward.
[Motalian] suddenly opened his eyes wide, the dark figure reflected in his eyes filled with chaotic light.
He saw...
A completely different Hades.
Hades who did indeed live to adulthood.
Hades who was transformed into... the Primarch?
[Motalian] saw a true god of war, completely different from Hades's naivety on Barbarossa. The being in front of him seemed to have just come off the battlefield. Even though Hades was not wearing armor, the unique coldness of metal was still there in front of him.
Mortarian's pupils suddenly shrank.
He saw that Hades' left side had been replaced by a strange and grotesque metallic face, his red eyes flashing with cold light, and a scar running across most of his face, leaving a deep mark.
But apart from that, the undamaged right half... was extremely similar to Hades in [Motalian]'s imagination, yet more mature and composed than he had imagined.
What exactly happened to Hades to become the way he is today?
And now, Hades is looking at him with a half-smile.
"You've finally opened your eyes? How is it? Can you see me? Or is it still darkness through your psionic perspective?"
Hades casually pointed to himself, then sat up and turned his head to look at the door.
"Ah, the food cart has arrived—you don't mind if we eat and chat from here on out, I'm quite hungry now."
[......]
Mortalian shook his head in a daze, then saw Hades walk over to greet the food truck.
The Primarch collapsed onto the single sofa, utterly dejected. The words and lies he had carefully crafted were shattered in front of Hades, scattered and rolling on the floor.
He pondered for so long, simulating countless dialogues and confrontations... but completely forgot Hades's most proficient skill.
……sincere.
Yay, it's gone!
Chapter 801 [243] [Past Events]
The flames in the fireplace crackled and popped.
Mortarian felt a strange sensation. Intellectually, he desperately wanted to communicate with Hades, but emotionally, he felt far more disgusted now than when he first faced Karas, who had joined Nurgle.
I wonder how the Mortarion and Primarchs here can coexist peacefully with Hades—
[Motalian] could understand his other self's acceptance of Hades, but what about the other Primarchs? Shouldn't they look at Hades in horror and then shoot him?
Or perhaps all of this has already happened, and the victor is Hades.
"Since you haven't spoken yet, I'll take the liberty of asking first."
Hades swallowed the biscuit in his mouth and looked at Mortarian, whose gaze was somewhat unfocused.
He didn't plan to ask this old Mo what his stance was or any other sensitive questions first. He'd just chat about everyday things first. It just so happened that Hades was also interested in another timeline created by the Emperor Old Deng.
