Yay, it's gone!
Chapter 788 BYD is playing a revival round, right?
Daily Reflection: Life is the currency of emperors; use it well, warrior.
....................................
Amidst the white mist that obscures the battlefield, charge, charge! The value of life is transformed into gripping a gun and charging forward. The mind no longer thinks; marching is driven solely by the instinct to kill and fight.
Billions of Astral Army soldiers ran through the fog, with the tracks of the hounds and hellhammer super-heavy tanks gliding across the muddy ground beside them, pressing the fragments of space undead debris deep into the soil.
The towering shadows pounded the ground with each step, almost making the entire battlefield tremble, while brilliant flashes of fire erupted from the muzzles of the twin gauss cannons.
Once again, it was engulfed by the misty fog, leaving only a fleeting bright line on my retina.
Rusty bells rang out from behind the mist, struck by the Death Guard's Undertaker with his scythe. The sound echoed outwards, reaching the Pale Lord's territory in all directions.
All you have to do is... run, run—a soldier's mission is to advance the front lines.
Kriegmead didn't think about why the fog was so thick, but his gas mask goggles didn't fog up; he just grabbed his gun and charged forward.
Countless of his comrades were charging alongside him, but Krieg, standing beside Mead, was interrupted by a scythe-wielding space necromancer charging towards them.
Krieg deftly dodged with a shovel, then smoothly turned and fired, the muzzle of his Gauss rifle gleaming with a faint, emerald green light.
laugh!
A burst of emerald light scattered as Krieg resumed his run. Mead had already gone much further, his Hyperphase Sword humming in his hand—the weapon he had been awarded after the battle against Slaanesh.
The sword flashed with immense energy as Mead easily sliced through the swarming Netherworld Scarabs. The silver-black insects convulsed and collapsed to the ground, but Mead knew they would revive again as the nanobots that made up these mechanical insects would reassemble.
But that's not something he needs to worry about; others will stop the resurrection of the space necromancers.
The white mist churned and covered the severed surface of the Netherworld Beetle. Almost immediately, an abnormal dimness covered the originally smooth metal.
The Holy Scarab twitched a few times and then stopped moving—as if it had died like a real insect.
At this moment, although they cannot receive the blessing of the God Emperor, the Pale Lord is with them.
Mead ran faster and faster, almost outrunning his company. As a forward, Mead was always the fastest.
Even the killing couldn't stop Krieg's charge.
He thus broke through the area completely shrouded in white mist, which gradually thinned to Krieg's waist and then to his ankles.
Mead caught up with the first group of soldiers—
A combined assault team consisting of a Death Guard squadron, a Mechanized Guard, and vehicles.
He was surrounded almost entirely by sages and guardians riding tall vehicles. Mead saw the Death Guard's pale, bone-white armor moving across the front lines. He heard no war cries; the silent Death Guard had no war cries.
But the oil enthusiasts were very noisy.
Krieg sometimes wondered if the Sage was fighting while having an orgasm, but it seemed that this scene could only be seen on battlefields involving Hades. Fortunately, Hades' cult was not as insane as Mechanicus.
"Protect the offspring of our fellow Hades! You research fanatics!!!"
The Forging General roared; he was practically a moving mountain. The Guardians of the Faith were using his body as cover against the gunfire, while the Forging General wielded his Myriad Machines Axe, which gleamed with green light.
With the roar of the Forging General, a new wave of fire support began—
This is why the Empire can never abandon these madmen, who possess control over most of the machinery.
A massive, roaring sound, almost drowning out the distant hum of the Titan engines, rose up.
Mead instinctively looked up and saw a dazzling display of light illuminating half the sky, missiles launched like a barrage of arrows. The piercing shriek of the missiles tearing through the heavens was far more deafening than any sound Krieg had ever heard.
But there's a problem.
Krieg realized that the forging general hadn't sent the message to find cover beforehand, or perhaps he was the only one here who hadn't received it—
Since both the Apostles and the Space Marines had clearly received the message, and he had run beyond his assigned area of responsibility, the Astral Army was responsible for flank defense and clearing out the remaining enemy forces.
Because there were so many bullets, Krieg felt the ash and smoke sprayed from his back from the missiles scorching him. He skillfully lay down on top of the corpses of the Guardians and the Necromancers.
At the other end, beside the towering brown tombstone, the megalith covered with countless scarab beetles, began to turn.
Intense lightning power gathered on the arc of the gap at that end, and the emerald green color almost dyed all the space undead a terrifying green.
hum-
Boom! Boom! Boom—Boom! Boom!!
The high-speed particle stream shot straight into the missile swarm, like a spear piercing a herd of galloping ibex in Africa. After a flash of white light, an explosion as bright as the sun lit up the sky, as if a nuclear bomb had exploded there.
It was as if the air itself had been completely burned away by the explosion.
After a sharp screech, Mead couldn't hear anything for a moment; his coat clung to his body, and the air seemed to have been sucked away.
Krieg felt himself screaming, but he couldn't hear anything, and blood was flowing from his ears.
He tried desperately to grab onto the protruding rocks on the ground, but the belated shockwave flipped him and the rocks over, sending him flying.
In his distorted, swirling vision, Mead saw the space undead and ghostly scarabs that had also been blown away, but only a small portion of them remained. The rest of the space undead were firmly fixed to the ground, still coldly pointing their guns at the Mechanicus and Space Marines.
Further away, greenery gathered again in front of the giant stone monument that had just spewed out streams of cold particles, and Krieg seemed to hear the sound of the charging process.
The ghostly scarabs are working overtime to resurrect the undead in space. The resurrection protocol operates among these cold, towering structures, without screams or fear.
The forging general once again frantically raised the myriad-machine axe in his main arm.
"Launch! Launch! Launch!!!"
The madness of binary code echoed across the battlefield, and missile rain came again, accompanied by a huge buzzing sound from the flanks, as something like a swarm of mosquitoes in a rainforest during the rainy season arrived.
Krieg was about to hit the ground as well. He was dizzy and tried to curl up to protect his internal organs.
But he failed, and it looked like he was about to smash into the sharp, protruding rock.
"Be careful."
A sudden feeling of weightlessness washed over him, and the next moment Mead was staggering and spinning on the ground.
Seeing that Krieg was alright, he casually grabbed his Death Guard, muttered something, and patted Mead on the shoulder, almost making Krieg kneel down again.
"Continue fighting."
The Death Guard's deep voice came from inside his helmet, and then he rushed back to his squad with his particle bomb gun, not giving Krieg a chance to thank him, and Krieg had no intention of thanking him either.
To minimize casualties so as to better serve the God-Emperor and the King of the Underworld is the warrior's duty.
Forty-six seconds later, Krieg, who was fighting the Necromancer of the Space, saw the Death Guard. He was killed instantly when three Gauss Burst Guns pierced his chest during a joint attack with his two companions to kill the Immortal.
Meanwhile, the mechanical sage seized the opportunity and unleashed a high-energy particle beam that blasted the indifferent immortal to the head, silencing him instantly.
The Immortal, even taller than the Space Marine who had just saved Krieg, fell, but the surrounding Necroworks rushed forward like sharks that had smelled blood, frantically collecting and dividing the living metal that made up the Immortal.
At the tips of those forged bodies, data transmission arrays that Mead could neither see nor understand were constantly at work, transmitting will code back and then reinfusing it into the new bodies.
The Great Sage roared; each of them had modified their signal transmitter beforehand, adding countless amplification components.
If an ordinary person stood next to them, they might soon feel dizzy, have a nosebleed, and faint, because these great sages were constantly emitting extremely strong signal radiation.
This was to disrupt the space necromancers' signal transmission as much as possible. Within these mechanical sages, who were fiercely hacking at the space necromancers with axes, intense electronic warfare was also taking place. If they couldn't disrupt the enemy—
Then our own information transmission and machinery will be taken away!
But each of the great sages knew they would prevail; between their overheated, overloaded engines, a drop of silvery metal shimmered, trembling slightly like a heart.
Hades bestowed blessings upon them, protecting them from enemy electronic interference.
Each Mechanical Sage is a mobile signal station. Fire support between the front lines and the rear, as well as the dispatch of vehicles, knights, and Titans, all pass through these sages. They are the first line of defense for information and an extremely robust safeguard.
Believers are pure; accepting the blessing of Hades means rejecting the protection of other gods.
The wise men, however, found it delightful.
"Blow it up!"
A small, great sage wielded his sword atop a giant walking machine, causing the bipedal machines beneath him to gallop wildly.
Krieg faintly heard the roaring sounds through his bleeding ears.
The swarm of mosquitoes that had attacked earlier finally arrived on the battlefield. A dense mass of self-destructing drones, with arcs of electricity crackling between them, caused the megalith to spin once more.
However, the drone swarm dispersed first. Drones have more advanced intelligent guidance than missiles, but their attack power is somewhat reduced.
The green spear was hurled towards the sky once more, piercing through the thick clouds and tearing a large hole in the heavens.
The drone swarm did not suffer much damage; instead, it rushed into the necromantic array of space with extremely strange trajectories, like flies and mosquitoes.
This attack was very effective, creating a brief opening in the Necromancers' offensive. The drone swarm focused its attacks on the Necromancer Scarabs, which will delay the Necromancers' subsequent resurrection.
Krieg gripped his phase sword tightly, charged forward, and swung it in a swift motion, cleaving a space necromancer in two at the waist. Mead realized that most of the space necromancer warriors he encountered lacked his agility and nimbleness—
Of course, this excludes the immortals that the Death Guardians are fighting against.
Krieg brandished his sword, but he sensed danger; the situation on his side seemed to be gradually turning against him.
A green light flickered above the planetary fragments, seemingly gliding past something flat and enormous, before several more Netherworld constructs appeared before them.
With the flanks dealt with, Kriegmed's army advanced, and the knights stepped onto the battlefield—
The Titans remained in the rear as a long-range fire support unit; the close proximity made it extremely difficult for them to evade attacks from the Necromancer monoliths in space.
Even with their troops following, the battle line showed no advance whatsoever, and even showed signs of retreating.
After a morning of fierce fighting, the Death Guards, as elite units, were losing manpower. As a result, gaps were opened in the Death Guards' ranks, and the towering Immortals were moved to more remote positions.
Compared to the mechanical sages and space soldiers deployed here, the number of space marines is still too small, and every loss becomes glaringly obvious.
Mead was certain that, through his blurred vision, he saw the company commander who had been directing the Death Guards being killed by a sniper shot from the void—
But the sky there was empty, and Mead couldn't see any enemies at all.
He felt somewhat tired; he had been struggling intensely on this battlefield all morning.
The space necromancers he faced never tired, and with muscle spasms, Krieg's movements began to distort, forcing him to rely more on experience than agility in the fight.
New troops were deployed, and ten more companies of Krieg were transported there on rhinoceroses.
But there will be no retreat. It seems the commanders of this war haven't considered the possibility that someone like Mead, who has been fighting all morning, needs a rest.
The last one. Mead's sword barely grazed the samurai's shoulder, while his gun blew the space necromancer's head off.
Mead began to retreat along his planned route, intending to rest behind the corpse of the dead Great Sage, whose massive body would serve as excellent cover.
But just then——
A gigantic, spider-like behemoth appeared ahead, about the size of the knight. Krieg could see at least five of these creatures, which were moving with an agility completely disproportionate to their size.
next moment--
Om-! ! !
The three Ghost Riders suddenly stopped in place, swayed, and collapsed. The Seraphim Heavy Construct released by the Space Necromancer moved its cannons and then aimed directly at the Titan swarm in the rear of the army.
!!!
Several black lines, seemingly out of place, streaked across Mead's raised eyepiece, which gazed at the sky.
Before being struck by the laser emitted by the Seraph Heavy Construct, Krieg turned around and saw the laser tearing two Titans apart.
Small, shape, black, hole.
Krieg had no time to be surprised; he had been torn apart by the shockwave of the explosion, his body splattered across the ground, blood still flowing from his ears.
The white mist suddenly churned violently, and the bells rang.
"Get up! Everyone get up!"
Karas screamed at the top of his lungs, the chill of psychic energy spreading beneath his feet. He had clearly just been teleported back by psychic energy, his flesh and blood regrouping. Death was a stroke of luck, while most people were not so fortunate.
"Come back and work overtime, all of you!"
Karas shouted without regard for his reputation, and swung his staff so hard that he smashed the Immortal Vanguard who was trying to kill him in melee.
He seemed to be from another dimension, a dimension from the subspace, his attack penetrating through it.
More and more people stood up. Mead jumped up in horror and found that the intestines that had just splashed on his face were wriggling back into his stomach.
"Is this how you command? You got assassinated? Did Motalian not train you at all? Or did a dog eat your brain?"
Karas kicked the third squadron commander in the waist and then kicked the man who had just come back to life to the ground. His helmet was buried in the mud. The Death Guard obviously didn't even want to lift his head and just stayed in the mud in despair.
Karas stepped directly onto the silent Death Guard, his psionic energy surging around him.
