And this reaction speed and combat prowess... a bishop? No... he's killed a bishop, and even among the fallen Ida bishops, there's rarely anyone so outstanding. Could it be...?

Vox retrieved the word from his mind that had almost been lost to the annals of history.

Phoenix Lord?!

Within the Eldar of the Ark, the first and most outstanding warrior lords created their own tribe warrior shrines in their own style, which subsequent Eldar would emulate. After the Phoenix Lord's death, his soul would reside within the armor, waiting for a suitable warrior to don it and revive him.

The Phoenix Lords vary in combat strength, and it's unknown how much power the souls blessed by Slaanesh possess.

Vox remained calm, holding a scythe in one hand and reaching for the shepherd's bell at his waist with the other. The Eldar circled around the hall, but instead of fighting Vox, he bent down and grasped the corpse of a fallen Eldar, comically dancing with it.

Is it painful?

The Fallen Eldar asked, seemingly addressing Vox, as if it had seen through Vox's soul, which was no longer an isolated individual, but connected to some more bizarre being.

"It's as sweet as sugar."

"Vox said slowly, raising his handbell and starting to shake it," Vox said.

The bell wasn't a crisp sound; instead, it was dull and sticky, and the mist drifted away with the ringing.

He recalled the pre-battle orders: Mortarion had allowed them to compromise and back down—the Primarchs wanted the fastest speed, not individual bravery.

Vox was never one to seek the limelight.

? !

Vox suddenly raised his arm to block the spear that suddenly attacked. The trembling spear tip was only a millimeter away from his helmet, and the force coming from the spear was enormous. Even Vox felt the strain.

The force transmitted through the arm was slightly misaligned—

Vox suddenly retreated, his spear phantoms raining down like a storm. The Death Guard protected his vitals, letting his armor absorb the remaining attacks.

"My youngest queen! I will bring you a joyful death, grant me bliss, and the fruit of desire!"

The response from the Spirit Clan was a rising white mist. The mist gathered from the corners and emerged from the fallen death shroud. In a short time, the hall was filled with a thick fog, like a swamp in the early morning.

The distant chimes rang out, only making the white mist appear even more tranquil.

"Respond to me! Prince of Desire!"

Unable to receive the blessing, the Eldar suddenly became even more frenzied. The fallen Phoenix Lord struck Vox down with a heavy thrust, then threw down his spear without regard for his image and pounced on Vox, attempting to stab his long tongue into Vox's breathing tube.

Vox kicked the Eldar, using his arm to block the blow, but the creature favored by the Slaanesh was clearly more troublesome than it appeared.

This was an unavoidable situation in the fight against the Slaanesh army. Karas was in charge of giving the Death Guards pre-battle psychological training. Vox didn't listen, but fortunately, Vox had already learned not to swear.

The faint rustling of insect wings came from the mist, and a strange creature in the mist extended its long, sharp tentacles, which gently rested on the Eldar's shoulder—

"?"

The spirit suddenly turned around and saw an extremely terrifying face, with gray hair hanging down and eyes wide open as if they had no eyelids, staring intently at it.

"what--!!!"

A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the hall. Mortarian slowly retracted his scythe, pulling the prey hooked on it closer.

[...Phoenix Lord?]

The Primarch asked quietly, but the anger in his voice remained undiminished.

On the other side, Vox stood up, raised his scythe as a guard, and casually wiped his armor, trying to remove the slightly sticky liquid on it.

Vox had never been so grateful to have entrusted his soul to the Primarch, which prevented an even more awkward situation from unfolding.

Upon hearing Mortarian's words, the Eldar seemed to flinch for a moment, but then struggled even more desperately. At the cost of its severed arm, it successfully broke free from the Primarch's giant scythe.

After landing and rolling once, he instantly picked up the spear, even faster than Vox who reacted first. The Eldar immediately launched a counterattack, but they were clearly no match for the Primarch's powerful momentum.

Clang! Clang! Clang—

The spear was knocked out of Mortarion's hand by the immense force. Mortarion used his spinning scythe to propel it forward, knocking the Eldar to the ground.

A chill flashed in the Primarch's eyes as Mortarion kicked out at the Eldar's abdomen, his heel almost passing between the armor and the rotting flesh, through the Eldar's body, and making intimate contact with the ground.

Mortarion held the back of his scythe at the Eldar's head, hovering it in mid-air.

The last phoenix lord I ever saw was the Howling Banshee. Is it now under Slaanesh's command, you filthy creature?

"Cough cough cough—he ...

The Spirit Race suddenly burst into laughter, seemingly regaining some clarity from their frenzied desire.

"dirty?!"

It shouted loudly,

“I am now the most lucid of them all—some souls have been torn apart and reassembled, while others have been completely devoured by Him!”

"Kill me! Take my soul—do whatever you want with it! Just don't let it fall into Slaanesh's hands!"

The Eldar shouted,

"I can't take it anymore! The entire race is degenerating! When did debauchery become the norm?! The gods have abandoned us—this is the tragedy of our entire race! Kill me! Kill me!!!"

"Heh—heh heh heh! Kill me!!!"

The Eldar struggled violently, reaching out to grab the Primarch, but Mortarian, indifferent to their attack, ignored them, slamming his scythe down with a deafening crash, like smashing a watermelon, splattering crimson tinged with a seductive purple.

Motarian remained silent, raised his scythe again, and continued to bring it down on the convulsing corpse.

Boom!Boom!Boom!

The muffled thuds continued, and Vox silently watched the Primarch's actions until Mortarion stopped and extended his right hand.

The mist enveloped the corpse, and faint specks of light gathered within the lantern hanging from the end of the long scythe, tinged with a hint of purple.

[Next, you will inform the Underworld Cult that this main hall needs to be purified after the battle.]

Mortarian looked at Vox, and waved his hand again. The faint figures of small Death Guards appeared beside the corpses of the Death Shrouds lying on the ground. Then the ashes reversed, and the Death Shrouds silently stood up again.

"Roger that, my Lord."

Vox said, glancing at the Primarch whose gaze had shifted to the distance.

[Slaanesh is growing stronger...possessing power that doesn't belong to him...a final burst of energy before death? Or is it from the Eldar death god who is being conceived? Or was it bestowed upon him by the Eldar gods?]

Mortarion spoke quietly, nodding to Vox to signal the mission to continue. Then the mist enveloped the Primarch once more, and Vox heard a distant bell—the others were calling for the Primarch.

Vox wiped the slime off his armor again, then his silent brothers gathered around him, and they set off again.

………………

“My Makado facial analysis model tells me you are happy now, sir. Why is that?”

Kirkland, in his scarlet robe, casually and cleanly flicked the slime and blood off the Machine God's Axe. The old man in front of the Mechanical Sage rose grimly, seemingly extremely displeased by Kirkland's words.

"Watch your mouth, wise man."

“You are currently exhibiting 57% anger and 43% murderous intent.”

Kirkland said with delight, as he peered at the Eldar corpse that Makado had just examined.

The detector captured every detail with precision.

To the sage's slight surprise, despite being severely corrupted by Slaanesh, the gruesome Eldar corpse still retained some characteristics of the Eldar from the past after the decaying flesh and scales were removed.

On the ruler of time, the genes of organisms are constantly changing, and a century is generally enough for the new generation to show subtle changes compared to the old generation.

Kirkland was unsure which generation of Eldar this trait belonged to, so he requested access to the knowledge base of the Academy of Athens, where a paper from the Sage of the Underworld No. 8 answered his question.

Kirkland and Macado walked among the corpses, their eyes subtly shifting, their ears becoming more pointed...

This describes the characteristics of the Eldar during the Eldar Empire era.

Kirkland was surprised; he wasn't sure what it meant, but he would faithfully report the discovery afterward.

........................

Mortarian silently withdrew his scythe, the gruesome corpses of demons scattering across the room, and the smoke of war on the planet temporarily subsided.

You can go find Hades.

Motarian muttered, glancing at Tarasin, who was trying to take a ceramic jar from the shadows of the room.

Taracin paused for a moment, then continued picking up supplies from the unattended area as if no one else was there.

"He is now serving the Lord of Mankind like a slave."

Tarasin said,

"I can't go there now; I don't know how the Emperor will treat me."

Mortalian was speechless. Weapons flashing with green light appeared everywhere on the battlefield, but Tarasin believed that the Lord of Man was unaware of its involvement.

He couldn't possibly be unaware of this.

"I understand, what I mean is—"

Tarasin winked at Mortarian.

"Look, if I don't go, he might turn a blind eye. But if I go and get exposed, then we won't be able to do business now."

This is a low-level political art. Mortarian believed that the benefits brought by Tarasin were enough for him to spit in front of the Emperor, and the Emperor would shamelessly ignore it.

So what do you want from me?

Mortarion asked patiently, at which point Tarasin became serious. The necromancer looked at the Primarch.

“Yes, you know Hades told me I didn’t have to participate in this battle.”

Hades did indeed give this instruction, hoping that Tarasin would focus his efforts on the plan to excavate the tombs and protect the artifacts.

"but……"

Tarachin said that even space necromancers can bare their teeth.

"The time alarm in my museum went off, and I think I need to remind you."

I don't understand.

"Hmm—so you say,"

Tarasin said,

“You know, the things in my museum are all old artifacts for collection purposes, and that guy is actually quite desensitized—to put it another way, the last time the alarm went off was when Slaanesh was born.”

"The Death-Fearers will send people to monitor the fluctuations in the timeline. I'm not sure if the other Death-Fearers have noticed this... If you make a big enough fuss, other dynasties might come."

Tarasin said as if he had a toothache.

"I hope you will not reveal your relationship with me."

Mortarian had initially intended to ask why there were such significant time fluctuations when the Slaanesh were born, but after considering it, he realized it seemed like a pointless question and changed the subject.

[...Can you block detection from other Death-Fearers?]

“I cannot—but there is one who fears the dead who can, the best astrologer among those who fear the dead,”

Tarasin shrugged.

"Although I didn't get along with it, I still went to look for it, but I found that it had disappeared."

"so,"

Tarasin's eyes flashed green light.

"I suspect it has already intervened in this battle. Be careful, humans."

What can it do?

"Time reversal—on a small scale, but sometimes the scale can be larger, especially given the current turbulent timeline."

Tarasin continued,

"There are usually multiple methods for interfering with time, but there are only two principles: one is to use the major ideological outbreak in subspace to mark and then backtrack, and the other is to use the branching point of the Milky Way in the physical world to mark and then backtrack."

"The birth of a false god usually has a profound impact on both the subspace and the physical world, so the time rewind points in the subspace and the physical world usually overlap."

"Our technology is the complete opposite of warp-time travel; it relies purely on the physical world. Only the technology of the ancients could achieve simultaneous warp-time travel in both the physical and the warp."

Mortalian, the Astrologer Orikan has the ability to interfere with Hades—as long as the steps it takes are within the bounds of the physical world, it can do so, do you understand?

Mortarian narrowed his eyes.

You mean... there's a possibility that some beings can travel back to an earlier time... and erase some traces?

"absolutely okay."
