"But we don't have a better choice now,"

Hades frowned and said,

"The entire Ministry of the Interior is engulfed in flames. Terra desperately needs political talent. Old Ma, although I believe in you... I don't want to burden you with too much work."

…………

Koz paused, his hand holding the boning knife still. The Primarch gazed thoughtfully at the dying fallen angel before him.

"What's going on?" Coz said, his jewelry practically exploding with light. "Why is the old man so angry today? Who dared to offend him?"

…………

Makado took a deep breath.

“Ultramen can come,” he said calmly, “but only for low to medium permission files.”

"Is that alright?" Hades looked at the Lord of Mankind, and the Emperor nodded, a slight smile playing on his lips.

“Since everyone agrees, it’s settled then,” Hades said decisively. He paused for a moment, “If Old Ma is worried about the Ultra Warriors… then we’ll wake up Guilliman as soon as possible.”

Hades looked at the Emperor, as if seeking the opinion of the Lord of Humanity.

"Robert Guilliman served as regent for a thousand years. If he were to awaken, he would be a powerful asset to the empire's politics, but..."

Hades slowed his tone.

"Why did Guilliman suddenly leave the Empire back then? I've heard some rumors, but I still need to verify them."

………………

Silk was soaked in blood, beaded chains burst open, and struggling hands repeatedly slashed at the ground.

[Gurgle...gurgle...] Koz collapsed to the ground, golden and silver threads constricting his bones and blood. [Old man...did he...encounter a ghost?]

………………

Robert Killieman.

It's Robert Killieman again.

Makado thought calmly, "Ten thousand years have passed, and even now, this former imperial regent is still hindering my plans."

Macardo's plan would have gone much more smoothly, but a thousand years ago, driven by that damned sense of responsibility, Guilliman abruptly altered the course of countless established policies—

This forced Macardo, who was still recovering, to devote more energy to dealing with the Primarch, causing him to miss the opportunity to capture the lion.

Even at the time, Guilliman had no idea that behind those millions of seemingly unrelated documents, an entity from the warp was watching him with malicious intent.

He certainly respected Robert, but also felt a mixture of respect, disgust, jealousy, and a desire to bring him under his control...

But in the end, Macardo failed. He only defeated the Primarch, killed him, and put him into a deep sleep, but he did not bring Guilliman under his command.

And now...

The man who told him ten thousand years ago that he was inferior to Macurag brought up Guilliman again.

"Nothing more, Number Thirteen was crushed,"

The emperor spoke as if stating something completely unrelated to him.

“He was not yet capable of handling such a vast amount of government affairs for the empire; sustaining it for a thousand years would have been the limit. I was also unable to offer my suggestions to them at the time… but I am still proud of him.”

“Then…” Hades hesitated before speaking, “you mean Killieman is still unable to get up and work?”

The Emperor looked at Macado and remained silent.

Makado just gave a cold laugh.

Hades sighed, "Even you say so, then it's no good—are you really going to exhaust me and Old Ma, Neos?"

Neos remained silent, his expression still calm and composed.

Makado sneered.

"That means my old bones will have to suffer again."

“It’s good to be busy,” Hades suddenly interjected. “Old Ma, after all these years, we’re still energetic enough to be workhorses. That’s a good thing, a good thing!”

Makado coughed violently; he seemed furious, but he forced himself to swallow his anger.

So far, apart from the minor incident involving Ultramarines, his plan has been going smoothly, so why is Macardo angry?

Hades trusted him and was willing to do things for him... but why did he have such anger at being fooled?

Macado sipped his tea, suppressing his turbulent emotions.

Hades continued to stare at the Lord of Humanity, as if hoping the Emperor would speak, but the Lord of Humanity remained unchanged from ten thousand years ago, refusing to speak unless absolutely necessary.

“Nyos,” Hades said, “you’re not feeling well? Can we continue our conversation?”

“Yes,” the Emperor said, “but there is no need, souls.”

The black-haired man on the throne, a figure of flesh and blood, looked toward Hades.

"Even I feel helpless in the current situation."

The Lord of Humanity said peacefully,

“But I believe you can solve these problems, Hades, even if only a part of them—that would be more than enough.”

When will you be able to stand up?

Hades asked,

The emperor merely shook his head, his eyes filled with sorrow.

"The internet is still not fully healed, but you will not need to worry about the ever-changing master,"

The Lord of Mankind said this.

The reason why the network is still broken is not only due to Tzeentch, but also due to the efforts of one of the three of them.

No, perhaps it's two people.

Everyone here bears undeniable responsibility for this matter.

“I cannot rise either, soul of the dead. The power the State Church has given me is too brutal—I know your plans, but you cannot bear any more, soul of the dead.”

Behind the golden throne, pipes extending into the endless sky hummed.

"..."

"I have no solution for your current situation."

Hades chuckled awkwardly and waved his hand. "It's alright. If I feel like I really can't control myself, Neos, just give me the coordinates, and I'll go and take down Tzeentch first."

Hades thought he heard a shrill curse, but he wasn't sure, so he listened again.

The Emperor smiled, while Macardo seemed to fall into deep thought once more.

“It’s not a worthwhile deal,” the Emperor said. “If that day ever comes, I will introduce you to at least two beings from the warp, Hades.”

As for who it was... the warp projection of the Lord of Mankind was burning calmly in the High Heaven, and depending on his mood, he expressed his stance to the Chaos.

Hades clapped his hands with a laugh and spoke lightly.

"That's good news. We'll listen to you then; whoever you point to, we'll bomb; whoever you target, we'll blast."

After waking up, Hades had a vague sense of his current strength, but he had been struggling to encounter Chaos. Now that the Emperor had confirmed it, he could send two of them away by activating self-destruction.

He might hesitate and be subservient when facing the Star Gods, but when facing Chaos, provided that Neos assured him there was no need to worry about the Lord of Change, Hades would strike hard if Chaos attacked.

Thinking of this... Hades glanced at Macado again.

Makado...something's not right...

Hades was certain that at least one of the three of them, besides himself, was not right—either Makado or Neos.

During the conversation, Hades tried to relax several times, but alarm bells were ringing in his mind, and he keenly realized that something was wrong.

...This was unlike their previous conversations. Many times, Neos could have spoken, but he remained silent and instead let Macardo explain the reasons.

Hades then deliberately spread the news that Killieman was "in a coma," but neither of them refuted it.

In other words, the coffin of the Lord of Macragge that shields against psionic energy... was likely intended to protect one of them.

If Guilliman wanted to defend against Chaos, and he was still in Terra at the time, he could have sought help from the Lords of Man or Macardo.

The only possibility is that Killieman didn't trust them at the time.

Hades wanted to be one of them, not "all of them".

Guilliman, Macardo, and the Emperor—at least one of these three has a problem.

However, given the intelligence provided by Vox, Mortalian trusts Guilliman, which means that anyone who disagrees with Guilliman is likely to be someone Hades needs to be wary of.

The Emperor… is Macardo really going this far? Or has he misjudged the situation?

Hades tried to sense with the Dark Domain, but in reality, he couldn't detect who was acting strangely. Neos's psychic energy was covered by countless beliefs, some good and some bad, making it difficult to separate; Makado's psychic energy was noisy and chaotic, like shimmering multicolored crystals.

The two of them even have a connection in their psychic energy... they are not completely separate entities.

After a brief verbal probe, Hades concluded it was Makado.

Although Neos still seemed a bit off, Hades needed to remain vigilant.

But this may be related to the fact that Neos has never spoken human language in the past.

The only thing that puzzled Hades was that he sensed the discord between Macado and the Emperor, so why were the two of them sitting here together, chatting with Hades?

Unless they still need to cooperate and are still in the same boat.

Hades became increasingly confused. Makado wanted to rebuild the imperial bureaucracy, while Neos told him to go for it. Both of them seemed to be working for the human empire.

If the Dark Domain were to purge Makado now… Hades probed again and found that not all of Makado’s warp projections were here; he had only released a portion of his psionic energy.

Cleaning up Neos... is even more difficult.

Hades pondered for a moment. Since neither of them spoke to him like a human being and they were playing riddles, he decided to do what he needed to do first.

It doesn't matter if it's a black cat or a white cat, as long as it catches mice, it's a good cat.

Let's grab him and make him work with us... then we'll see what Makado is really thinking.

At the very least, if he hopes to achieve something... he will inevitably leave some clues.

Hades began to miss Mortarian, who knew numerology.

........................

He didn't want me to leave...

Mortarian sighed, and in the garden, the head of the Dark Eldar lay slumped at his feet.

Is He really that fixated on being the commander of the Death Guard?

"Motalian said defiantly, muttering to himself as he walked toward the woods where the goddess of life was hiding. White mist had already enveloped the area, and only Nurgle's low sobs could be heard."

And in the distance, there's waaagh.

"Come out," Death said. "I'm in a hurry. Death Guard is giving you one last chance, Eldar—otherwise I'll break every bone in your body and throw you into the cauldron of the Corrupted Heaven."

Yay, it's gone!

Also, thank you to the reader who pointed out the typo. I wrote "wandering spirit" instead of "wandering spirit" in the previous chapter, which has been corrected. :)

Chapter 611 Hades Decides to Manage

Hades remained silent.

Neos fell silent, and so did Makado.

"so,"

Hades clapped his hands.

"The conclusion is that Neos will continue to sit on the Golden Throne—no, I mean the Golden Throne—and I, Old Ma, and the Ultramarines will be in charge of managing the Empire?"

"What?!" "Ultimate Warriors can only interfere with low to medium privilege levels!"

The two sentences rang out simultaneously, and Hades chuckled, gleefully ignoring them.

"Do you have anything to add? Or are you just going to let me do it?"

“A single legion must not be allowed to manage the empire,” Macardo said grimly. “That is a grave taboo.”
