Beyond the front lines where the Greenskins and Terrans fight lies the Greenskins' territory, and beyond that, the human Empire's domain.
The star sector they were currently in was originally the territory of the human empire, but it had been completely devoured by the insects.
But humans may still survive in this sector, Blake said.
Some human nobles or merchant fleets would sail away from their planets before the Tyranids besieged them—as long as their ships did not travel the same route as the main Tyranid force, these people were likely to survive.
Because the Tyranids cast a shadow over the warp in this sector, the surviving ships were unable to navigate the warp and escape the sector in time.
This means that there may be human ships in this star sector, drifting in the void, waiting for Tyrion to leave.
This also means that Hades and his group can end their miserable life of eating insects and drinking biomass ahead of schedule.
Hades clearly needs this.jpg
Anyway, Taraxin told him that it was fine as long as it was in the area where Tyran had ravaged the land.
In order not to disturb their last hope, Barry, Hardy deliberately left when Barry was about to wake up again to search for metal resources once more.
Meanwhile, Blake sat next to Barry, offering psychological support to this lucky yet unlucky Tiens player.
Blake: What I'm about to say, don't be afraid.
Barry: Fear.
Black, after all, was born the son of Hades, and the Chapter would specifically train its warriors in communication skills—although Black clearly hadn't reached a qualified level within the Chapter, convincing most people in the Imperium was no problem for him.
Hades realized that Blake seemed to be taking advantage of people's perception of him as naive, thus lowering their guard against him and then conning them.
This even included deliberately providing vague information so that the other party would deduce the intelligence on their own while thinking he was unreliable—but in reality, this was what Blake wanted the other party to think in that direction.
Because people subconsciously believe the information they infer from themselves.
But when Hades deliberately tried to trick him, Blake maintained an image of someone who wasn't exactly clever.
Is this little brat genuinely stupid or just pretending?
Did he perform this operation subconsciously?
Hades was filled with deep confusion.
However—as long as he can team up with Hades to deceive people, Hades will consider him the good son of Hades.
Finally, Hades, wearing specially crafted Nether Armor, emerged from the forest and saw the Celestial Lion standing and bowing to him in the Eagle Salute.
Hades was certain that the moment Tiens Think Tank saw him, it subtly took a half-step back.
According to this Celestial Warrior, the Tyranid Shadow in the warp is now moving rapidly away from this area, so he can use psionic powers to try to call upon the humans in this area.
But they don't have much time left. Once all the remaining Tyranid shadows in this area have left, those wandering people may soon warp out of here.
Hades promptly ordered the unfortunate think tank to immediately begin using psionic summoning of the surrounding human fleets.
He didn't let Barry reveal that there was a large Hades here, firstly because Hades feared that such a statement, like "I am Qin Shi Huang, come and get me," would be too fake; secondly because...
The term "Pluto" does not exist in psychic communications.
Psionicists cannot “speak” the word “Pluto” in psionic communications.
Barry told Hades that there might be ways to pronounce the word "Pluto" within the Cult of Mechanics and the Death Guard, but at least most psykers avoided the meaning and symbolism associated with it.
Looking at Tian Shi's expressionless face, Hades thought to himself that it was really tough for this psychic to dare to say such things in front of Hades.
Hades had hoped to extract more information from this think tank member, but Barry needed to focus on making psionic calls, so Hades abandoned the idea of harassing a psionicist.
Meanwhile, in order for Barry to work better, Hades and Black had to stay away from Barry every morning—at least so that the think tank's psychic abilities couldn't detect Hades.
Although Celestial Lion Barry repeatedly assured that he would not make a mistake under Hades' watchful eye, the stubborn think tank was disconnected from the internet once Hades silently peeked out from the darkness.
Every day, Hades and Black would leave as Barry watched them go. The two would search for usable metal among the ruins, while Barry would meditate in the clearing, trying to contact other human ships.
They claimed to be looking for metal, but it was more like two bored people going out for a aimless stroll.
Hades would chat with Black and sometimes teach the axe-wielding son a few moves. The battle axe techniques that Angron had taught Hades back then finally came in handy.
After hearing that Black was often bullied in the dueling cage, Hades specifically taught Black how to fight with an axe and a scythe.
During his casual conversations with Black, Hades gained a clearer understanding of the Empire.
In short, the outbreak of wars in multiple locations is a recipe for disaster, and sustainability is doomed.
Thanks to the training of the Son of Hades, Hades became increasingly aware that most of the Son's "non-war" training seemed to be in preparation for his return—so that he could quickly integrate into the Empire.
Hades grew increasingly respectful of King-306; he never imagined that the nameless servant on Mars would grow to such heights.
After the planet silently rotated four times, on an empty ground almost entirely filled with scrap metal, Barry finally made contact with the outside world, living up to expectations.
“It’s Ms. Tess,” Barry said calmly. “Tiens knows this brave lady. We fought side by side to defend her hive from Tyren.”
"Is it someone we know?" Hades glanced casually at the sky, sensing the signal from the old-fashioned shuttle. "That's even better."
“Aswan?” Blake suddenly asked, stunned. “The Underworld Prince once received an invitation from the ruler there.”
Barry frowned. "Ms. Teess manages the hive cities on the outermost edge of Aswan—I want to invite someone else from the Sons of Hades Chapter."
Blake nodded. "It's an invitation from the Lord."
Barry's eyebrows furrowed even deeper, but only Blake noticed.
“Quite a coincidence,” Hades commented, his head held high as he gazed into the distance. “Hey! Over here! Three o’clock! You’re flying the wrong way!!!”
Seventeen minutes later, amidst a wheezing, breathless hum, the dilapidated shuttle landed in front of them.
Finally seeing other living people, Hades thought he was going to have to endure months of wilderness survival and eat insects for months to come. He couldn't help but shed tears of excitement.
A tired but dignified woman stepped out, staring at Hades with a look of unease.
Behind her, a bodyguard named Oglin, who didn't seem very bright, also came out. The moment he saw Hades, Oglin exclaimed "Wow!"
Hades didn't say anything. Their appointed diplomat, Barry, walked over and interrupted the nobleman's daze. Almost the instant he saw Barry, Tess's eyes reddened.
I thought you were all dead!
Tiss couldn't help but raise his voice, and a smile crept across Barry's usually taut lips. "The Celestial Lion will never perish, thanks to the God Emperor... and Hades."
Hades looked at the scene before him and realized that Barry was hiding something, but that wasn't a bad thing; at least this ride would be more comfortable.
Both had narrowly escaped death. They exchanged a few words in hushed tones about each other's recent situations. Then, Barry turned to the side, while Tess looked back.
Hades saw it clearly: the nobleman was visibly startled when he saw Black's shoulder armor.
When it came to Hades, the poor man didn't dare to look him in the eye, but instead kept his gaze fixed on the ground.
Tiss looked like she was about to kneel, but Blake quickly said, "Madam, the Eagle Salute will suffice."
Tiss gave a hasty bow. "May I ask who you are...?" She swallowed hard. "...Pluto?"
Hades spoke up, "Yes, I am. There's no need to be so formal."
Tiss glanced quickly at Hades, then quickly lowered his gaze.
"My lord, I believe you are a hero, but please forgive my disrespect... but... but you know, only with the certification of the state religion can we... confirm..."
Tiss's voice trailed off, and Tian Shi stared at her with a shocked frown, seemingly unable to understand what she was saying.
Hades patted Blake on the shoulder.
“How about the Sons of Hades Chapter is certified? Madam, I understand your predicament—I just want to hitch a ride and stop eating bugs. If you're worried about trouble on your ship or afterward, we can change our wording. I may not be Hades.”
Beside Hades, Blake muttered softly, "By Hades... I never imagined that one day it would be Hades' son who would confirm Hades' legitimacy."
Hades then used his hand to flick Blake on the back of the head.
“Besides,” Hades said, trying to be as gentle as possible, “your friend Barry has helped us a lot, so we certainly won’t make things difficult for his friend.”
This statement flattered Tian Shi. Barry had been using his psionic powers intensively these past few days—partly because he wanted to, and partly because deep down, this unfortunate psionicist wanted to get away from Pluto as soon as possible.
Nobles are generally good at judging people. As if he had a preliminary understanding of Hades' character, Tiss raised his head and looked at him with a startled expression.
“By the God-King…” Tiss said, “My lord, if you hadn’t said so, I would have thought you were some wise and mighty Primarch.”
"Why not Hades?"
Hades asked,
Tiss hesitated for a moment,
“You… said in the Holy Word that when Hades appears, the entire star field will fall into eternal night, the sun will be extinguished, souls will be forever silent, and the Hades will be cold and ruthless, like an ancient law.”
“The Book of the Holy Word,” Blake suddenly interjected, “Father, your image in it is basically that no one survives once you appear.”
“Yes,” Tiss quickly echoed, seeing the son of Hades speak up for her, “My lord, you are truly a hero. I am willing to surrender my power and wealth to you, but—the gods…”
She swallowed.
“My lord, there are people in my family who are also members of the Hades Cult. You are indeed… slightly different from the description in the book.”
Hades realized that he looked too human, like a believer in the God Emperor, and would never think that Neos' other identities were the God Emperor—to put it bluntly, he was almost like a special effect.
Hades blinked, glanced at the sun, and thought about extinguishing the stars—something he couldn't do.
but……
"Is this how it is?"
Beneath Hades' feet, the waves seemed to surge and roll, with dark waters spreading out and expanding outwards without end.
Tess's legs went weak and she almost knelt down. Barry, who was next to her, pulled her up, but he was also pale. Behind the nobleman, Oglin stared at Hades with his mouth wide open and a blank look on his face.
Hades waved his hand and put away the Dark Domain. "I don't need to always look like this, but they are indeed outdated. I am Hades—if you're worried, I can change my identity and board the ship."
Hades pondered for a moment.
“Look… even a human of this size can be a smart head, Oglin.”
"Pluto, please forgive my intrusion!"
"My lord, please don't do this—"
Teess and Barry shouted at the same time, but their voices were drowned out by Oglin behind them.
"Boss! I'll follow you!"
Oglin fumbled for the noble badge on his shoulder, trying to throw it off. "Boss, I want to resign!"
Hades smiled helplessly. Well, his current position certainly wasn't suitable for joking around.
“You don’t understand,” Hades said. “I used to make these kinds of jokes with Mortarion—that is, Death. Don’t worry, it’s not what you think. I didn’t mean to punish you.”
"So, can we get on the ship first? I think, barring any unforeseen circumstances, we'll have time to get to know each other later."
Tiss nodded, respectfully and cautiously stepping aside.
She looked quite frightened; her face was pale, but she still managed to kick Oglin's bodyguard hard, making him stand still.
“Lord Hades, Tis Wood of Aswan, at your command—I wish to believe you are Hades.”
She still seemed a little uneasy. Blake walked up to her and pointed to the insignia of the Underworld Child on his shoulder armor.
“Look here,” Blake said, while Hades behind him struggled to squeeze through the small hatch. “Madam, I am the son of Hades, he is my father, he is Hades, in the name of the son of Hades, rest assured.”
"Oglin, give me a hand!"
"They're here! But it's not my boss's boss!"
Oglin quickly helped push Hades inside.
Black continued earnestly explaining to Tess the fourteen principles of how the sons of Hades treat mortals, attempting to argue that they treated mortals better than fire salamanders.
Tiss gave a wry smile. She had initially been excited that Tian Shi was still alive, giving them an extra layer of security... but now...
She couldn't help but exhale a breath of stale air.
If he really is Hades... no... even if he isn't, Hades' son would be acceptable...
Those who survived on the ship were saved.
……Very good.
The engine started, and since Tess looked unwell and didn't want to say anything more, Hades curled up in the cramped cabin and began to teach Oglin to count from one to ten with great interest, while also instructing the pilot on how to avoid turbulence.
Yesterday drained me dry, but today I'm completely drained! Goodnight!
Chapter 559 The Death and the Disappearance
The dilapidated shuttle eventually landed on a small cargo ship in the sky above the planet.
