Hades waved his hand, signaling the Emperor to continue.
Jewelry and fragrance appeared simultaneously, and an exquisite purple phoenix spread its wings as if about to take flight. The emperor placed it in the northeastern part of the hazy star field.
Hades remained silent. Because the upper part of the Hazy Starfield and the Limit Starfield were connected, the Phoenix was also very close to the Knight, as were the vampires.
At least there will be someone to look out for me...maybe?
"The Third Legion, the Son of the Emperor, is marching north into the Misty Starfield."
After the perfect phoenix, a raven, cawing hoarsely, perched on the Emperor's fingertips. He commanded the raven to fly to the northwestern part of the hazy star field, even more remote than the phoenix.
"The Nineteenth Legion's Raven Guard has been transferred by Horus to the far north battlefield."
"...?"
Hades raised a question mark.
"Horus?"
The emperor raised his eyes, looking at Hades with a calm yet slightly questioning expression.
"what happened?"
Makado coughed.
"Hades, Horus is now the War General and is in charge of troop deployment orders."
Hades shook his head and slowly said that he was fine.
Horus and the Raven King did not have a good relationship... The wolf god, who believed in the Great Astartes, probably disliked his worker brother from the start.
Hades began to have a headache. He wondered how he would deal with the strong Great Astartesism within the Legion when he arrived at Shadowmoon Wolves.
However... Hades thought again, at least Horus hasn't relegated all his powerful legions to obscurity, but only thrown out those he didn't like. This proves that he doesn't have any rebellious intentions at least for now, doesn't it?
Seeing that Hades no longer inquired, the Emperor lowered his gaze. The Pacific Starfield in the due west lit up, but the hazy starfield did not dim.
The weeping believer was kneeling in his palm.
"The Seventeenth Legion of Word Bearers, they have just departed from their home planet Colchis, preparing to join the Great Expedition in the Misty Starfield."
Colchis is located in the Pacific Sector, slightly north of which lies the border between the Pacific Sector and the Misty Sector. The Emperor placed his followers at this border.
The hazy star field dimmed.
The emperor lifted a steed from his palm and galloped across the Taiping Starfield.
"The Fifth Legion is scarred white. People often overlook this legion, and the Khan himself is keen to go to remote and desolate battlefields."
The emperor said calmly.
The Taiping Starfield dimmed; it was the smallest starfield to begin with.
The emperor picked up the sleeping fire dragon, which slumbered in the Stormy Starfield to the south.
Then the Stormy Starfield to the due south dimmed—
"and many more."
Hades raised his hand.
"Only one legion is being deployed in the Storm Starfield?"
But Hades suddenly realized that while the Storm Starfield seemed to be relatively calm and peaceful, the Death Guard's homeworld, Barbarus, was located here, at the southernmost tip of the Storm Starfield.
The Emperor looked at Hades with amusement; perhaps Neos and Hades had found common ground on a certain topic.
"You plan to send the Death Guard back to their homeworld, is that right?"
Hades pondered. In the foreseeable future, the northern part of the Limitless Starfield and the Hazy Starfield would most likely be embroiled in major conflicts. However, the Death Guard had consistently operated in the southern and southeastern parts of the Empire. If they were to suddenly move north…
With an unstable logistics line and Death Guard being a troublesome anti-psy force, they are likely to be targeted.
"Let the Death Guard guard the Storm Starfield."
Hades spoke,
Hades believed that it would be better to give the Death Guard some time to react. He thought that once the initial smoke screen cleared, Mortarion would be able to lead the Death Guard to immediately begin their counterattack.
In addition, the Storm Starfield has two large forging worlds guarding the northern part, and the route from the Storm Starfield to Terra is relatively smooth.
The Emperor smiled, and the Grim Reaper, his cloak tattered, appeared in the south of the Storm Starfield.
"Motalian also submitted an application to lead his army back to his home planet."
He spoke calmly, when Makado interrupted inappropriately, and the old man said sarcastically,
"It's more like a notification than an application."
The Emperor ignored Mortarion's temper and looked at the map. In the very center of the map, the area centered on Terra lit up.
The Golden Guardian stands indifferently atop Terra, seemingly unyielding.
"The Seventh Legion, the Fist of the Empire, will stand with me to guard Terra."
"certainly,"
The emperor raised his hand, and a ferocious, fanged wolf was biting a heart with a single eye embedded in it, as if awaiting its master's command.
"The Sixth Legion's Space Wolves will first escort the former sinners of the Fifteenth Legion back to Terra. After that, I may send the Wolves back to Fenris."
Fenris is also located in the Central Sector, not one of the other four major sectors.
The emperor clapped his hands, and the entire map lit up, slowly rising.
Hades stared silently at the chess pieces, counting each legion and pondering what might happen… The knights might fight the vampires… or even the phoenix, but with the Wolf God in their lower ranks, Hades should be able to stabilize the situation once he arrives.
“But, Neos,”
Hades suddenly spoke.
"What about Alpha and Omega?"
Macardo answered Hades' question on behalf of the Emperor.
“They’re everywhere.”
------
When Hades emerged from the secret chamber, dizzy and disoriented, after listening to the Emperor's ramblings, the dimly lit corridor was already deserted.
At first, the Emperor was seriously discussing the many possible events with Hades, but later they agreed that as long as the Net remained intact, even if several rebellions occurred, the Emperor could still beat them to their knees and call them father.
So the Emperor began to tell Hades about Horus's past, seemingly to prepare Hades for contact with Horus, or perhaps it was just what this Emperor Neos wanted to say.
Hades' tea cooled down again and again, only to be reheated by psionic energy.
The Emperor seemed to be trying his best to portray Horus in a positive light, but through the Emperor's words, Hades had already developed a Grand Astartesian mindset, one that was extremely power-hungry, arrogant, a father-obsessed man, very concerned about his ranking among his brothers, and a scoundrel who needed the Emperor to treat him the best.
Had Macardo not noticed Hades's gaze growing increasingly sharp and promptly interrupted the Emperor's reminiscence, the positive image Horus had built for Hades would have been completely destroyed.
Hades sighed and thanked Macado. The Emperor finally realized that they had been in the secret chamber for too long. Just presenting the various documents had taken several days. In addition, the latter part was almost the last madness before the darkness. Hades directly criticized all the Primarchs except Horus and the Archangel in front of the Emperor.
Then they spent another half a day insulting Chaos and the Four Gods. Neos pondered for five minutes and found a set of safe pronouns that would not trigger the warp.
This was good, but it also caused Hades to miss the point in time when the Death Guard fleet left.
As he stood in that empty corridor, the interrupted electrical hum came from the finally restored channel, the wake of the Deathguard's last barge disappearing in the warp channel.
Hades heard the message from the Lord of Death.
Do not be afraid of what must be done.
In Barbalus, death is the inevitable event for everyone.
Hades took a deep breath. Makado stood silently behind Hades, raising an eyebrow, intending to watch his performance.
"Old Ma—Old Ma—I forgot to tell Killieman not to blow up that lighthouse!"
Makado smacked him with a stick.
"I'm not called Old Ma, and you can get lost and go to the Extreme Starfield now."
The Great Expedition is over!
The ending was rather rushed because I really couldn't write anymore. Actually, I could have written about combat readiness arrangements and daily speeches for another week.
A major rebellion will begin tomorrow.
End of Volume Summary
Stop acting crazy and playing the victim; let's get serious.
This volume is a product of my failed attempt to divide the book into volumes, but my abilities did improve in this volume, and the later parts were quite brilliant.
In my own summary, the major events were the banquet beating up Marco, Mortarion's revenge on Koz, the murder of the scumbag in Perfect City, the bloody battle to redeem Angron, and the farce with Nicaea.
There were many other plot points interspersed throughout, but I've forgotten them all; I only remember these few key moments.
As a newcomer, I didn't handle the connections between events very well, and my performance was particularly poor in events that involved a lot of description from the original work and had some overlap.
And when I'm busy in the real world, my performance is also quite poor.
The banquet, Coz, and Perfect City were all completed during the summer vacation, so there was plenty of time and they performed quite well.
The great rebellion that follows will be a new experience for me, but after all, I am a newcomer. In fact, everything I mentioned earlier was also my first time trying it.
In the process of writing, I have been summarizing, reflecting, and learning. I have looked for a lot of information and read countless online novels and classic literature.
Although I haven't found anything like a universal formula, I can sometimes vaguely grasp that feeling, so I can write some watchable plots through flashes of inspiration.
However, flashes of inspiration are not suitable for long-term, large-scale online novel structures. In fact, my Great Expedition did not have an outline; I just thought of the events and then wrote them down.
For the Great Rebellion, a relatively clear outline must be written. Although it was painful, I have now completed the outline for the Great Rebellion.
The next step is to write down these stories, while trying to come up with ideas within the framework as much as possible.
I started this fanfiction out of personal interest, and I'm amazed that it's come this far. My current goal is to finish this book properly.
The outline has been extended to 40k, and there is a vague framework and goal for 40k, but only if the major rebellion does not collapse.
That's all I have to say. Writing this book has taken up a lot of my energy, but there's no reason to stop. I'll try to keep updating daily, but I might try to combine chapters for major events.
What follows are some guarantees of a major rebellion, or rather, spoilers.
For readers who are worried or question how I'll start the big rebellion later on, if you trust me, think I can write whatever I want, and have a high tolerance for it, then please don't read on.
This major rebellion should not lead to the downfall of the loyalists.
They won't recruit people from the outside world to start a chaotic war.
Forced corruption exists. (A Warhammer feature, a must-try)
There is a knife.
A prominent figure sacrificed his life.
But the knives and the famous figures who sacrificed themselves will be stitched back together in 40k. I won't actually send out knives, but please hold back on the great rebellion for now.
See you tomorrow, and thank you to everyone who has supported me until now.
Prologue to Act One: The Fall of Hades
Act One. Prologue: The Fall of Hades
I was there the day Hades fell.
Hundreds of red and black cables crisscrossed, hanging from the dark ceiling and connecting to the largest data board in the room. A ticking electronic sound rang out, and a few characters lit up on the dark data board.
"Common sense is lacking."
The red-robed sage in front of the big screen said without any change in expression,
"Correction: Hades still answers the prayers of believers; the gods do not die."
"603, you have two more chances."
[You little brat with a piss-filled thought engine! When did I ever curse Hades to die?! Actually—]
The sage stared blankly at the data screen, and vaguely, he seemed to feel a sense of pride on a data board.
It was I who saved Hades! I—
"Incompetent in character."
