Vox stepped out from beside Mortalian and raised his scythe.

The first company commander's combat skills were not as good as the combat company commander's. In Vox's past, his superb combat skills were always accompanied by Garo's beatings.

To this day, Vox has never truly defeated Garo.

Within the entire Deathguard, besides the Primarch, there is only one who can defeat Garo.

But Vox was not afraid. This man, who used to follow Hades or Garo around as a new recruit every day, had already honed his skills in the Death Guard.

"My apologies, Senior Gara."

Sparks flew as the scythe and greatsword clashed, illuminating the darkness, and Gara roared in fury.

With Garo tied up by Vox, Mortalian and his group moved freely, boarding the ship and quietly listening to the roar of the engines.

Mortarian opened the communication.

------------

Horus received an urgent communication from the Death Guard.

The Wolf God, who hadn't had a proper rest for several days, quickly opened the communication, and Mortarion's pale face instantly appeared through the crackling radio waves.

Are you alright, my brother?

Mortarian's gaze darted away, his eyes dry. He didn't answer Horus's question, instead speaking to himself...

"I need to go aboard the Nightfall to settle some personal scores."

Horus clearly paused for a moment.

"Now? We can wait for the people from the Empire to arrive. They will make a correct and just judgment on this unfortunate incident."

“I swear to you, Conrad Coz will be punished.”

Horus emphasized his words, extending both hands in an attempt to persuade Mortarian.

“Conrad Coz will receive the severe punishment he deserves. You don’t need to go and talk to him yourself.”

Mortarian shook his head.

"For criminals,"

He said softly,

"The cruelest and most terrifying punishments must come from the victim's closest relatives and friends."

“He committed a crime, and I am his punishment.”

Mortarian stared at Horus, uttering the most insane words, yet his eyes held a serene, deathly stillness.

"I want him to taste despair, to taste pain, to taste fear."

“I want him to feel the pain he caused me, a thousand times, a hundred times, and I will repay him.”

Calmly, as if spoken by a corpse, the words rang out in a hoarse voice, uttering that timeless truth in human history—

“A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye.”

Horus's anxious voice came from the other end of the radio wave.

"But how will you get there? The Midnight Lords' fleet is still on alert; they won't allow it—"

"I've already arrived."

"Motalian said calmly."

Horus suddenly opened his eyes wide and looked at the Bird Servant. A small dot marked "Death Guard" appeared in the cluster of "Midnight Lords".

"Horus, my brother, this is just a notification."

Motalian said,

"If the Midnight Lords' fleet tries to escape, or forcibly boards the Nightfall to help me control them, the Death Guard will also assist you."

"besides,"

Motari settled in for a while.

"Horus, you are a good man. You were the first brother to warmly welcome me after I entered this empire, but because of me, I am very sorry."

"In you, I saw the possibility of brotherhood for the first time."

"None of this is your fault. You tried your best to help us, but—"

There are always people who don't need salvation.

The communications were forcibly cut off, and Horus, feeling utterly powerless, slumped into his chair.

He silently covered his eyes.

"Don't blame yourself." Mortarian's last words still echoed in his ears.

----------

Mortarian boarded the Nightfall in silence, his face cold.

The few Midnight Lords stood at the port to welcome, or rather, to guard against them.

Mortarian recognized them as Black Armor Guards.

"Hello, sir."

Sevita stood before him, wearing his helmet, the wings of the Night Bat spread high beside it.

"If you wish to speak with Lord Coz, I will lead the way."

[Now lead the way.]

Motalian said,

Don't try anything funny, little bat.

[Keep quiet, and my wrath, the wrath of the Death Guard, will not fall upon anyone else.]

He spoke loudly, making sure the hidden guys could hear him too.

The Night Lords could naturally detect that the Fourth Knight was loaded with explosives, more than enough.

It is possible to detonate the explosives of an entire ship of the Glory Queen by detonating it at a critical point.

The Fourth Knight's unique model and engine ensured that it could accelerate to its maximum speed in a short time; this was the very knight that had crashed into the main city of Galaspa.

Severta calmly led him into the dark, unlit corridor.

"We also sincerely hope that you will only talk to Father, sir, as this is also Father's will."

"The Nightfall is loaded with enough explosives; the fuse is Father's life."

Mortarian chuckled.

"But the fact that you let me in, little bat, means you think I can't beat him."

Sevita did not answer Mortarian.

The stench of blood grew stronger, and darkness followed them. Mortarian sensed the malice lurking within the darkness.

Cowards, they're all cowards.

Only the weak hide in the darkness, using it to put on airs. They dare not stand up and expose themselves to the enemy.

They stopped in a dark and empty hall, where Mortarian could see the huge instruments of torture placed haphazardly, their metal spikes gleaming faintly in the light.

A hissing sound came from the darkness.

Mortarian calmly reached for the alien pistol, Netherlight, at his waist.

Sevita spoke with neither humility nor arrogance.

"My lord, I still—"

The next moment, the intense and bright light of the Netherworld lamp pierced through Sevita's chest.

The bright light illuminated Sevita's incredulous turn, and also the desperate expression on Koz's face—

Mortarian burst into laughter.

Chapter 294 The Trial of Mortarion

From the very beginning, Mortarion had only one goal—

He wanted Conrad Coz to feel pain, to feel the extreme pain that Motalian was experiencing.

Swords or words, truth or lies, none of it matters. As long as they can leave a mark on that monster called Conrad Coz, Mortarian will not hesitate to grasp the hilt of the weapon.

Pain can only be repaid with pain.

------------

A sudden, explosive sound of wind breaking through the air rang out, followed by a huge metallic clang. Sparks exploded in the air, illuminating two faces twisted in madness.

What are you doing, Mortarian?!

Koz screamed, swinging his power claws almost frantically, the eerie blue light flashing down like lightning.

You don't understand! You can't see it! None of you believe what I'm saying! I'm not lying to you!!!

Koz lunged forward, his agile figure leaping through the air above Mortalian, hoping to rush over, drag Sevita away, and then escape—

No, no, no, that's not how he imagined it to be; it shouldn't be a race!

But Death's dull scythe slammed straight down on Coz, the shaft striking flesh with a heavy thud, accompanied by the rustling sound of metal cracking.

This strike was imbued with immense fury.

Conrad was sent flying, rolling on the ground several times in a flurry of dust. The tall, strong Primarch quickly regained his footing and bared his fangs at Mortalian like a wild beast.

After a brief standoff, both Primarchs were calculating their next attack.

Mortarian chuckled, picked up the incense burner hanging on his body, and yanked it off. A crisp sound rang out as it hit the ground, accompanied by hissing poisonous gas that visibly billowed out of the burner, instantly creating a thin layer of mist on the floor.

A pungent odor lingered around Koz's nose, and his pupils unconsciously contracted. The gas floated lightly near his armor, and with the caress of the mist, the metal emitted a slight, almost imperceptible hissing sound.

As the fog spread, Sevita, lying on the cold floor and nearly unconscious, let out an unconscious groan.

Koz felt his breathing quicken.

Your little bat won't die.

Motalian spoke slowly and methodically, as if appreciating Severta's dying words.

[At least I won't die now, but...]

"Look, Conrad, this place is full of poison gas. I can't say for sure whether he'll die in a minute."

"Let's see if you can get him out of here. Can you beat me, brother?"

As Mortarian spoke, he slowly lowered his head and reached for the ammunition at his waist—

In the brief moment when Mortarian's gaze left Conrad Coz, the Lord of the Night's blade had already reached his enemy!

Muscles tensed to their limit, claws ripped through the armor, and the Lord of Night mercilessly tore flesh from the wound before swiftly departing—

In an instant, Mortarian, who had been moving slowly just moments before, grabbed his wrist and pulled him tightly toward him.

In the other hand of the Lord of Death, he held a grenade that was quite small compared to the size of the Primarch.

Mortarian smiled at him.

I can see it, but I'd rather you continue to see it.

The next moment, the Lord of Death crushed the grenade with his bare hands!

However, there was no massive explosive impact like a typical hand grenade! After a fierce white flash, countless ashes flew around the two of them.

Koz, has come to a standstill.

For the Primarch, this was long enough. Mortarion quickly released his grip, widening the distance between them again.

He watched as the grayish-white powder fell, turning Conrad Coz's messy black hair gray.
