Chapter 138 Distant Ideals and Reality, Lillie's Plan
In the Unova region, a handsome young man with a gentle face stood on a cliff. The ocean crashed against the cliff below, and a salty sea breeze blew by. The young man pressed down on his slightly swaying black baseball cap, and his long, green hair, a symbol of nature, was somewhat disheveled by the wind.
N raised his head, his lifeless blue eyes gazing at the distant clouds. A short while later, a Dragonite crashed through the clouds and flew rapidly toward him.
"Welcome back, my friend." N smiled and opened his arms. The Dragonite that flew in front of N transformed, revealing its true form. It had a fox-like face, a black and gray body, and gray-red hair. It was a Zoroark.
"Soha!" Zoroark excitedly hugged N, rested his chin on N's shoulder, and told him everything that had happened to him.
"It's alright, it's all over now," N comforted Zoroark. "I was just about to bring my crew to rescue you, but I didn't expect you to come back on your own."
Before long, N and Zoroark sat on the edge of the cliff. From Zoroark, N learned everything that had happened to her.
"You mean, you were captured by a Pokémon hunter and then rescued by a human, and that human had the same scent as me?" N's face showed curiosity. He thought he was the only one caught between Pokémon and humans, but he didn't expect there to be a hybrid like him in this world.
"It's like having biological brothers who are not related by blood but have never met," N murmured.
As a hybrid of human and Pokémon, he must have suffered a lot and witnessed many hardships, just like me.
Does his eyes reflect a landscape similar to his own? And can they join hands to create an ideal world?
A world entirely belonging to Pokémon.
"Looks like we need to find some time to go to the East." N smiled as he looked towards his distant ideal. "But before that, we need to go to Kanto and ask Team Rocket to take back what belongs to us."
At the research center, Wei Xin finished his afternoon training with Ralts. Because of the fact that her family's first evolved Pokémon was Brim, Ralts felt discouraged and practiced extra hard today. When Wei Xin came to the training room to pick her up, the little one was already asleep from exhaustion.
"Achoo!" On his way to the front gate, Wei Xin sneezed for no apparent reason and sniffed.
He felt that he might have caught a cold because of the changing seasons; otherwise, how could there be any girl thinking about him?
It's hard to say, since the model is what it is.
He walked toward the research center’s gate, carrying the latest model of the tree-fruit mixing machine in his arms. He had discussed it with the professor and retrieved it from the research center’s warehouse. The professor had asked him if he had found a way to improve the energy cube. After all, the energy cubes sold on the market were products of industrial production, the result of research and improvement by several generations of scholars. As long as there was no shortage of quantity or inferior products, their actual quality was far superior to that of private workshops.
Wei Xin said he had an idea and would inform the professor once he had preliminary results. After that, he would mobilize the entire research center's resources for further research. In return, Wei Xin told the professor about his former roommate's family having a miniature dragon nest, essentially giving the professor something to do.
Although the professor always had a lot to deal with.
"Wei Xin, what a coincidence, you're off work too." Before he even stepped out the door, Wei Xin bumped into Lillie. If Lillie was like a girl from a different class in high school, waiting at the door for more than ten minutes to wait for the boy next door to get off school, that could be considered a coincidence.
Wei Xin nodded, noticing Lillie's hesitation: "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Upon hearing this, Lillie twirled a strand of blonde hair near her earlobe and gently tucked it behind her ear. Her gaze shifted slightly, and her hesitant expression even made Wei Xin wonder if she was about to hand him a love letter.
"That's right, I don't have your contact information, so it's not convenient for things at the villa tomorrow," Lillie took out her phone and handed it to Wei Xin with both hands. Although she could ask the professor or her senior for Wei Xin's contact information, she felt it would be impolite, and besides, what if someone asked?
She didn't know how to reply.
What if other people stir up trouble and things backfire?
If she embarrasses herself in front of the boy she likes, she'll probably have to find a rope and hang herself at the entrance of the research center.
"That's it? You should have said so earlier." Wei Xin smiled and entered his real contact information into Lillie's phone. After all, they were colleagues, friends, and acquaintances who had risked their lives for each other.
Taking the phone from Wei Xin, Lillie looked at the contact information on the phone, and couldn't help but smile slightly. She pressed the warm phone to her chest, as if she had received a very precious gift.
"Do you need me to take you to the main gate?" Wei Xin asked. "If we had arrived earlier, we might have been able to ride the Millerton around for a bit."
"Okay!" Lillie skipped to Wei Xin's side and walked out the door side by side. As the sun set, Lillie noticed that her and Wei Xin's shadows were stretched very long behind her. So she quietly reached out her hand, and the two shadows on the ground swayed as if they were holding hands.
She even wished the road beneath her feet could be longer, ideally one that would never end.
However, things don't always go as planned. As I left the gate, a familiar figure appeared on the road.
"Lillie, I've come to pick you up." It was Lusamine.
Lillie sighed and could only say goodbye to Wei Xin. She sat in the passenger seat of the car and watched Wei Xin ride the Milerton and disappear into the end of the road.
"Mom, I'm nineteen now." As Wei Xin's figure receded into the distance, Lillie crossed her arms and complained sullenly.
"I know," Rosamune said coldly, "so I don't intend to interfere in your affairs. The Aether Foundation's research has made progress. I have to go out on business for the next few days and won't be back for a while."
"Oh, you're leaving already?" Lillie said with some regret. As long as it didn't involve Wei Xin, she still hoped to spend more time with her mother.
Seeing the reluctance on her daughter's face, rather than relief that the troublesome old man was finally leaving, Rosamina breathed a sigh of relief.
At least our own little cabbage hasn't been uprooted yet.
There's also a chance to plant it in the ground and let it grow again.
She took out a stack of documents and placed them in Lillie's hand: "These are the documents I had people investigate about Wei Xin. I'm not trying to say bad things about him, but he actually has quite a few girls around him. He was on a date with the Sinnoh champion yesterday, and he also has a close personal relationship with Unova Elite Four member Wanlong."
"That doesn't prove anything," Lillie retorted after reviewing the documents. "He just owes Cynthia a favor. As for Wanlong, he's just the author and editor of the novel; they hardly have any contact in private."
Besides, so what if he's in contact with other girls? As long as he's single, she'll always have a chance. Even if he's not single, she'll still have a chance.
She will never let go, no matter what, not even if it kills her.
"But he's still living with another girl, and they're very close," Rosamune emphasized. Then, seeing Lillie staring at a photo of Wei Xin and Mary shopping together at the market, falling silent, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled contentedly.
Sure enough, even if it were his own daughter, he should have chosen to give up in this situation.
Afterwards, I'll arrange for a driver and housekeeper to keep a closer eye on things, so I can leave with peace of mind for a while.
Lillie, in the passenger seat, had a completely different idea.
Just as his mother said, Wei Xin was surrounded by too many girls, and they were all very attractive, especially this girl named Mary, with whom he had actually started living together.
Can she still come slowly?
We must speed up the strategy and launch a powerful attack.
But before that, we need to find a way to distance him from Mary, but not too much, in case the other side senses danger.
If you pounce on them directly, what if you make it a fait accompli?
Since he was willing to jump off the spaceship to save Ibu, it means he must be a responsible person.
We must proceed with caution.
After a moment's thought, a complete plan came to mind for Lillie.
