Chapter 497 Check-in 2
Chapter 497 Check-in 2
"Room key." Fatty Li held up the card and waved it. "It's for opening the door. There are so many of you, one room definitely isn't enough, you'll have to stay separately. One card per person, just swipe it and the door opens."
After saying that, Fatty Li walked to the elevator first and pressed the elevator button.
The elevator doors slowly opened, and Fatty Li stepped in first, turning back to wave to the group of furry creatures still standing there, "Come on in, don't be afraid."
The little deer stood at the elevator door, its ears standing straight up, staring at the small metal box for a long time.
"This...this box is so small, how can it hold so many of us?" she asked softly. "And once we're inside and the door is closed, won't we suffocate?"
Fatty Li slapped his forehead, realizing that these little ones had never even seen an elevator before. He quickly stepped out, stood at the elevator door, and used his hand to block the closing door.
"It's not stuffy at all, there are ventilation openings up here." He pointed to the exhaust fan on the top of the elevator. "And it's quick, just up and down. Look—" He went inside, pressed the button for the second floor, the doors closed, the elevator hummed and rose, and a few seconds later the doors opened again, he poked his head out, "See, we're up here?"
Little Deer stared wide-eyed at the open door, then at Fatty Li's smiling face, and swallowed hard.
"Then... I'll give it a try."
She stepped in cautiously, tapping the floor beneath her feet and then reaching out to touch the metal walls on either side. They were cool and smooth, just like the revolving door.
"Come in, everyone," Fatty Li called out. "We'll split into two groups, first up to the second floor, then up to the third."
The fox spirit gritted her teeth and was the first to follow inside. As soon as she entered, she stood close to the deer, her whole body tense, as if ready to rush out at any moment.
The rabbit spirit hopped in, and the squirrel spirit, carrying the little ones, squeezed in as well. In a flash, more than ten squirrels crammed in, and the elevator was instantly full.
The door closed slowly.
There was a moment of silence in the elevator.
Then, with a whoosh, the elevator began to ascend.
The rabbit spirit cried out "Wow!" and hugged the deer's leg tightly: "It moved! It really moved!"
The squirrel spirit's tail bristled again, completely covering the smaller creatures, while it itself trembled uncontrollably. The fox spirit was stiff all over, its claws digging into the elevator wall, its eyes wide open.
Only the fawn, its ears twitching frantically, was experiencing this unprecedented sensation.
"bite--"
The door opened.
Fatty Li was the first to walk out, then turned back and smiled at the inside: "We're here, we're here, everyone come out."
The little monsters then snapped out of their daze and started squeezing out, chattering all at once. The rabbit spirit immediately collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, "That scared me to death! I thought I was going to be eaten by that iron box!"
The squirrel spirit put down the smaller ones, plopped down on the ground, its tail still flaring. The fox spirit leaned against the wall, her legs still a little weak, but she stubbornly refused to sit down.
Standing in the corridor, Little Deer stared at the closed doors, the wall lamp at the end of the corridor, and the soft carpet beneath her feet, and then she froze.
"These... these doors are all the same, how can you tell which one is which?" she asked.
Fatty Li waved the room card in his hand: "Look at the room number. The second floor starts with 2, and the third floor starts with 3. You guys on the second floor, come with me, let's check each room one by one."
As he spoke, he walked to the door of room 201, stuck the room card on the lock, and with a "beep," the door opened.
"See, it's that simple." He pushed the door open, letting the little monsters look inside. "Once you're inside, insert the card into this slot, and the light will turn on. For showering, this is the toilet, and that's the shower room..."
He said a lot, then looked back and saw that the group of little monsters were all staring wide-eyed, their faces full of confusion.
The rabbit spirit asked in a low voice, "What is taking a bath?"
Fatty Li: "..."
The fox spirit asked, "What kind of magic is that 'beep' sound?"
Fatty Li: "..."
The squirrel spirit asked, "That iron box that can send people upstairs, does it consume a lot of spiritual energy? How many spirit stones are needed to operate it?"
Fatty Li: "..."
He took a deep breath, then another, and finally gave up on all explanations, simply waving his hand: "Never mind, you all go in first. If there's anything you don't understand, we can talk about it tomorrow."
The group of little monsters then cautiously walked into the room.
The rabbit spirit was the first to dart inside, and the first thing it saw was the big bed. It paused for a moment, then pounced on it with a "whoosh," rolling around on the bed.
"So soft! So soft! Little deer, come quick! This nest is so soft!"
Xiao Lu couldn't resist any longer. She walked over and plopped down on the edge of the bed. The mattress sank in softly and then bounced back up, startling her so much that she almost jumped up.
The squirrel spirit placed the smaller ones on another bed, but dared not sit down herself. She stood by the bed, watching the soft mattress warily, afraid that it might suddenly collapse.
The fox spirit circled the room, checking every corner, and only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming there was no danger.
"Little deer," it suddenly spoke, "who is that Miss Wei...?"
Xiao Lu was sitting on the bed in a daze when she heard this, and paused for a moment: "Miss Wei? Is she the one who came out of the iron box just now?"
The fox spirit nodded: "The way she looked at you was a little strange."
The fox spirit nodded: "The way she looked at you was a little strange."
The little deer tilted its head and thought for a moment, its deer ears twitching: "Really? I didn't notice. But that fat Taoist priest called her 'Miss Wei,' so she must have come with those immortals."
The fox spirit frowned, wanting to say something more, but was interrupted by the rabbit spirit's shout.
"Little deer, little deer! Come quick! Water is flowing from this cave!"
The little deer rushed over and saw the rabbit spirit squatting in front of the sink in the bathroom, staring at the running faucet with a look of horror.
The deer was also stunned.
She reached out and carefully touched the water; it was cool and clear. She then looked at the silver faucet, turned it on, and the water flowed out more strongly.
"How...how did they do that?" she murmured.
The little deer stayed in that room on the second floor for quite a while before finally figuring out the pipes that flowed water, the lights that emitted light, and the mirror that reflected people clearly.
The rabbit spirit was already sprawled out on the soft bed, its four little paws outstretched, belly up, muttering... "His eyes were almost closed." The squirrel spirit squatted on the bedside table, its tail finally retracted, but it still stared warily at the lamp, afraid it might suddenly explode. The fox spirit leaned against the window, looking through the glass at the lights at the foot of the mountain, lost in thought.
"Little Deer," the fox spirit suddenly turned around, "aren't you going upstairs to check? Didn't that fat Taoist priest say he'd arranged something for you... a presidential suite?"
The little deer paused for a moment, then scratched its head: "What's that?"
"I don't know, but it sounds better than here."
Little Deer thought for a moment, then stood up: "Then I'll go take a look."
She walked to the door, then glanced back at her friends who were gradually relaxing. The rabbit spirit was already asleep, its small body curled up in a ball, its long ears drooping on either side of its head. The squirrel spirit was also dozing off against the bedside table, its tail swaying gently. The fox spirit nodded to her: "Go ahead, I'll watch over them."
Little Deer then opened the door and went out.
