I want to just drift through life in Type-Moon.

"Alright, Lord El-Melloi II, you didn't mean it just now."

Just as Webber was about to tell Gray to take action, Orange spoke first, "That's not Word of Power, it's Charm, which Lingjun cannot control."

Le Zhengling blinked, not understanding what Chengzi was talking about, but Weber looked like he suddenly understood.

"This is the last time." Weber swallowed two more stomach pills and decided not to dwell on the matter any longer. "Lingjun, I will no longer discuss whether the Clock Tower is useless. I will tell you everything I know and have investigated, and I hope you can give me some hints."

Although he didn't know what had happened before, he could tell from Orange's attitude that he seemed to have done something bad to Waver. Although he was very unhappy with the people of the Clock Tower, Waver and Orange were, after all, members of that place. In order not to make everyone lose face, he nodded and agreed.

Then, Weber gave Yue Zheng a detailed account of what had happened during the apocalypse, his reasoning, the intelligence gathered by the Clock Tower, and Barthezello's personal experience.

After listening to the whole thing without saying a word, Yue Zhengling said, "You all know so much already, haven't you guessed who the murderer is yet? No—actually, we can't call her the murderer, we can only refer to her as the person who activated the [World Preservation Mechanism]."

Upon hearing the new name, everyone was in an uproar.

Chapter 124 The Sands of Osiris

"What do you mean?" Weber asked in a trembling voice. That name made him realize many things in an instant.

Le Zhengling turned his head and looked at the yellow sand blowing up outside the window again, without offering any explanation.

His gaze was focused and sorrowful. "Is this sand the final form of life on this planet?"

This answer, which was not an answer, sent chills down many people's spines, while Arthur suddenly realized something, stood up, walked to the door, picked up a handful of yellow sand, and examined it closely.

Sure enough, once he figured out the composition of the sand, his eyes turned cold, and he returned to Barthezmello, the warm smile on his face completely gone.

“Ling, explain.” He said to Yue Zhengling.

Le Zhengling turned around, looked at the expression on Arthur's face, and asked softly, "What else needs to be explained? Don't we already know the truth?"

"I need to know who activated this [World Preservation Mechanism]!" Arthur's tone was devoid of anger, but the killing intent in his eyes was unmistakable.

"What good will it do to know?" Yue Zhengling looked at the endless yellow sand.

"I'm going to defeat him." Arthur gripped the holy sword tightly, as if he would rush over and confront the enemy as soon as Yue Zhengling told him who it was.

"It's no use, you can't win. The opponent is not within the annihilation range of your holy sword, and of the thirteen constraints, at least nine are impossible to overcome." Yue Zhengling turned his head and looked directly at Arthur. "Give up. Even if you change your spirit origin and descend as a savior, this world cannot be saved."

"What does this mean! What does this mean?! What do you know?" Arthur was about to ask when Webber asked the question first.

Le Zhengling smiled, then walked to Chengzi's side. "Sister Chengzi, I'm going to hide now. Can you stay here for two days and come for a walk with me after this game of hide-and-seek with Arthur is over?"

Orange looked at him intently, then hugged him. "Lingjun, although I don't really care about the changes in this world, many people hope that the world will return to its original state—at least not this lifeless state. So if you know anything, can you tell us?"

Le Zhengling gave a wry smile. "Whether you know or not, it's all the same. You can't change anything. Isn't it better to just be ignorant and happily wait for the end?"

“No, it can be changed. As long as there is a sliver of hope, it can be changed.” Weber slammed his fist on the table and said decisively.

Le Zhengling looked at him with an expression of utter disbelief, then sank him with a single blow: "In that Holy Grail War, you used all three Command Seals to try and help Alexander the Great win. At that time, you thought there was a sliver of hope for victory, right? And what was the result?"

Weber froze, his face flushed slightly, then turned completely pale, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood, seemingly overcome by extreme anger.

"Master!" Gray cried out in fright, while someone rushed out from the Clock Tower, probably to check on Waver.

“You…you knew all this?” Weber looked weakly at Yue Zhengling.

“Yeah, I know. Just like back then, this is reality. No matter how much you struggle, it’s all in vain.” Le Zhengling’s eyes were empty. “But maybe this kind of world is more suitable for me? There’s no need to struggle, because the ending is already predetermined.”

However, some people still refused to accept it, or rather, couldn't accept it. In the third window, a blond man rushed to the screen and said to Yue Zhengling, "How could it end so simply! This young master still has many things to do, many women to taste, and higher positions waiting for this young master to climb!"

Le Zhengling glanced at him. "So it's you, the oil tycoon. Looks like you weren't killed by C-mother in this world."

Just as the other person was about to say something, Yue Zhengling's words left him completely bewildered.

"By the way, I remember you're Egyptian, right? Don't you even know what happened?" His empty eyes slowly turned black, and the orange holding him noticed something, then immediately covered his eyes.

"What exactly are you trying to say?! Why are you looking at me like I'm a dead man?!" The blond man's mental defenses crumbled under Yue Zhengling's gaze.

He tore at his hair with both hands, letting out idiotic screams, before being dragged away.

Seeing this through his fingers, Yue Zhengling said coldly, "Useless is useless, a waste of time."

Without asking Orange why he was covering his eyes, he looked at the other screen and said, "Arthur, can we continue the game now?"

However, Arthur did not agree. Instead, he took a deep breath and spoke again: "If I surrender, on the condition that you tell me everything you know, can you agree?"

"What a joke, talking like you've got the victory in the bag. I'm the only winner in this game, why would I agree to such a condition?"

Le Zhengling wanted to pull Chengzi's hand away, but Chengzi whispered in his ear, "Don't move," so he had no choice but to stop.

"I want to save the world."

Although he couldn't see Arthur's expression, Yue Zhengling could hear the determination in his words.

Le Zhengling remained silent for a long time before revealing a sharp and eerie smile. "It's too late. Justice is not only late, but it's also often absent."

"You!" Arthur was furious at his words!

“I’m not wrong. Think about that little village. Both you and Artoria chose to fight back against the more dangerous side. That little village you abandoned, those people longed for justice, but justice never came even when they died, right?”

Le Zhengling's words were utterly inhuman, but holding him and feeling his heart, Chengzi knew just how sad he was. She could only hold him tighter.

"No matter how many enemies your Knights of the Round Table wiped out afterward, the so-called revenge for the people of that village is a complete joke. Don't you think so, Knight Kay?"

Le Zhengling then turned her attention to the Mystic Code, which remained silent and was held in Gray's hands.

"Kid, you've angered me! I don't care if you're related to the Lake Fairy or not! Gray, beat him up!" The giant scythe roared angrily, and Gray, upon hearing her partner's request, swung it at Yue Zhengling.

"You really think I don't exist?" Orange had a wry smile on her face, and then a dark figure emerged from the shadows, transforming into various weapons and engaging Gray in combat.

"Lingjun, why are you doing this?" Chengzi still didn't cover Le Zhengling's eyes with her hands; she knew why he was doing this now.

This behavior is like self-torture and sadism, because he is already in great pain, and now he wants others to suffer the same pain as him.

Seeing Yue Zhengling like this, she couldn't help but want to tell him the truth, but for some reason she was also reluctant.

Even though this was the first time she had met him in this world, she felt an urge to hold on because of the influence of her other self.

“This world doesn’t need saving. It has become like this only to escape its final fate. The Dust of Osiris did nothing wrong…” Le Zhengling, leaning against Orange’s chest, turned his head, and everyone who heard his words fell silent again.

"What is the Dust of Osiris?" Weber, who had been staring at the screen, asked Yue Zhengling.

Meanwhile, Arthur, who had taken the other communication device, was rushing over here while Le Zhengling couldn't see him. In order to avoid being discovered, he turned off his own video feed and only transmitted audio.

"The Dust of Osiris, also known as the Bird of the Underworld, the Twenty-Seven Dead Apostles—" Now that he had mentioned this term, Yue Zhengling wanted to explain it, but when he was about to say it, he realized that something was wrong.

"Sister Orange." Le Zhengling moved slightly away from Orange's embrace, her voice trembling slightly.

"What's wrong, Lingjun?" Chengzi felt a little strange. Why did Yue Zhengling suddenly seem wary of her?

"Are you really the Aozaki Touko I know?" Yue Zhengling asked in an incredulous tone.

Orange froze. How was she supposed to answer that question?

This reaction said it all. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Yue Zhengling broke free from Chengzi's embrace and looked at her with a very sad look in her eyes, "So, even you were lying to me?"

“I didn’t mean to lie to you, Lingjun, and I also have the memory of meeting you on the train.” Orange stood up awkwardly.

Yue Zhengling opened her mouth, then took two steps back. "But you're not the Aozaki Touko I met, right? If so, does Aoko have this memory?"

Orange responded with a long silence. "How did you find out?"

"In this world, there are twenty-seven ancestors of the Dead Disciples, right?" Yue Zhengling did not answer her, but instead asked her a question.

"Yes." Orange nodded.

"Wave, you participated in the Holy Grail War, right?" Yue Zhengling turned to look at Waver again.

“...Yes.” Weber was now surrounded by a group of people, and several people were examining his body.

"Heh, heh heh, heh ha ha ha ha ha ha." Having received an affirmative answer, Yue Zhengling bent over and laughed, his laughter filled with madness and a hint of relief.

Everyone stared at Le Zhengling, who was suddenly bursting into laughter, completely bewildered as to what he had just said.

Even Gray and Orange's familiars stopped and looked at Yue Zhengling, who was laughing heartily.

"Listen to me..."

Orange tried to approach him, but after only taking the first step, Yue Zhengling stopped laughing and said in a calm voice, "Don't come any closer."

He took two steps back and scanned everyone one by one. His eyes were pitch black. Orange, who was being stared at, felt much heavier, while Gray felt a chill run down her spine. Everyone else gasped when they saw those eyes.

A terrifying look in his eyes.

A cruel look in his eyes.

An eerie gaze.

A hard gaze.

A look in his eyes as if he were judging a price.

A look that treats people as less than human.

Observe a person's eyes from the inside.

A gaze that seemed to see through everything.

A look that denies the existence of a particular way of the world.

A gaze that defines the world in the opposite way.

If I had to sum it up, it would be—the gaze of a non-human being.

Everyone, both physiologically and psychologically, is telling the same thing: to distance themselves from this existence, an existence they absolutely cannot understand, identify with, accept, or even recognize.

When Yue Zhengling discovered that Arthur was missing, he guessed what had happened. He instinctively took out his staff and gently tapped it on the ground. A strange wave spread out from him, and then Arthur, who was running, suddenly felt his body sink and almost fell to the ground.

"So that's where it was, Savior." Yue Zhengling turned around and looked in Arthur's direction. Realizing that he had done something useless, Arthur turned on his communicator and looked at Yue Zhengling's back without the slightest embarrassment.

"I didn't expect you to find out after all."

"It's good that you've taken action, which means the bet continues, right?" Yue Zhengling turned her head and looked at him with her dark eyes, asking without any emotion.

"What's wrong with your eyes?" When Arthur saw his eyes, he sensed a great crisis and his whole body went into a state of high alert.

"Eyes? Oh well, whatever. Since the bet continues, I'm outta here." He shrugged, seemingly oblivious to anything amiss, and walked out the window.

"Lingjun, can you tell me what happened just now, the question you asked?" Chengzi wanted to chase after him, but when she realized that the heavy pressure on her hadn't been lifted, she stopped and asked.

Arthur also stopped where he was, giving them time to communicate. He had now noticed the abnormality in Yue Zhengling and knew it was probably due to the influence of the alien god. Moreover, this change had come too suddenly, and the magician was the one who could help resolve it.

"Arthur, usually the worlds you arrive in are either apocalyptic, have a predetermined timeline, or are on the verge of destruction, right?"

Seeing that Arthur had wisely stopped, Yue Zhengling also mercifully gave the others answers.

“Yes, although I don’t know the specific reason, most of the worlds I’ve experienced are the ones you’ve described.” Arthur looked at the desertified land beneath his feet, recalling the worlds he had seen in the past. Only he knew the bitterness and pain in his heart.

Le Zhengling knew the reason, but he wouldn't tell Arthur, and there were plenty of mobile saviors like him.

"In this timeline, there are twenty-seven ancestors and the Holy Grail War. Do you know what that means?" Le Zhengling glanced at Gray, who seemed to be making some moves, and her furtive actions immediately stopped.

“What does it represent?” Arthur asked softly.

Webber, Barthezmero, Orange, Grey, and many other magicians watched Yue Zhengling nervously, afraid of missing a single detail.

“That means it’s inevitable that this worldline will be abandoned.” Yue Zhengling shook his head from side to side, revealing a mischievous smile.

"That's why I realized this world isn't my world. This Touko-nee... this Aozaki Touko isn't the Aozaki Touko I know."

"Why are you so sure this world has been abandoned?" Arthur knew this was a good opportunity to get something out of Yue Zhengling, so he continued to ask.

Le Zhengling spread his hands, gesturing for everyone to look out the window. "Whether it's the end of the world or a predetermined outcome, the conditions are actually very harsh."

At this point, he looked at Aozaki Touko, "You know Rafe Lenore Floros, right?"

When Yue Zhengling mentioned this name, many magicians looked confused, but Webber said, "You mean that archaeology genius who committed suicide?"

“What’s wrong with Rafe? And his name isn’t—” A deep doubt flashed in Orange’s eyes.

“Lev Uval, Lainur Gusion, and Mr. Flauros are his three personalities.”

Before Chengzi could finish speaking, Yue Zhengling directly revealed Rafe's private information.

"Wait! What's going on with the Demon God Floros?" Barthemello Loreleia had remained silent until she heard the last name of Rafe, at which point she became agitated.

"He committed suicide in 2015. Have you ever thought about what would have happened to the world if he hadn't committed suicide in 2015?"

Le Zhengling looked at everyone with malice, especially Chengzi, "Rafe Huller left his will to you, and Lenor Gushin left his will to Qingzi. You two sisters are regarded as confidants and companions by these two personalities, but you have no way of knowing the truth about him."

"I'll tell you the answer: if Rafe hadn't committed suicide in 2015, the timeline would have entered the Human Order Burning phase, and Pan-Human History would have been destroyed."

When Yue Zhengling gave this answer, all the magicians shouted, "Impossible!" "How could such a thing be done?" "You're lying."

"So you're all useless. Do you even know what you did in that timeline?" Yue Zhengling squinted at the group of guys.
