Chapter 189 Vitality and Meditation
A few days later, on a gloomy afternoon.
The inner courtyard of the boxing gym was quiet, with only Wang Chao, Huo Ling'er, and Han Xiaoqing remaining.
Chen Aiyang also returned to Singapore. Liu Yi was going to invest in Wang Chao's martial arts school. Lin Yanan and her apprentice went to the city to arrange some things. Da Shitou, a group of special forces soldiers, and Zhao Xinglong went to the military region below for target practice.
Wang Chao moved a large wooden armchair and sat on the steps of the courtyard, holding some books resembling "Zhuangzi" and "Wuzhen Pian" in his hands.
Ancient scriptures like these.
In addition to these ancient scriptures, Wang Chao also had many books about hypnosis, sleep, and spiritual cultivation next to him.
There are even some dry textbooks from universities.
Huo Ling'er, who was practicing her martial arts in the courtyard, looked at Wang Chao reading these scriptures with a strange expression.
"My master doesn't seem to have read many books, so why has he suddenly started reading so many books these past few days?"
Wang Chao's reading movements didn't resemble reading at all. Whether it was a pile of ancient scriptures or a textbook filled with various formulas, he only glanced at it before turning to the next page. The whole action took less than a second, and the sound of pages being turned rustling continuously rang out.
From an outsider's perspective, this doesn't look like reading a book at all; it looks like they're just flipping through the pages and playing around.
But for Wang Chao, just one glance was enough to keep him occupied for a long time.
The changes in the body and mind are not just about strength.
Putting aside other things, take reading as an example. He can pick up a thick book, flip through it quickly, and finish reading it in a few minutes. He can immediately memorize all the knowledge, analyze it, and truly master the knowledge points.
Besides that, he could point out any errors in the book.
In just one or two days, he can complete all the courses of four years of university, and even understand the more advanced knowledge of graduate and doctoral students.
Absorb knowledge, digest knowledge, refine knowledge, explore knowledge.
Wang Chao's brain is constantly working at high speed.
If the thinking speed of an ordinary person is like that of a snail, then the thinking speed of a genius is like a sprint.
He broke through to the level of "Transformation of Internal Energy," where his martial arts skills were internalized and refined into his mind. His thinking speed was like that of a car, placing him in a completely different realm from ordinary people.
Now that his mental and physical abilities have been further enhanced, his thought process can operate hundreds of billions of times per second, much like a computer brain.
No matter what kind of martial art it is, you can learn it in no time and understand it immediately. It includes the transmission of various forces and can penetrate deep into tiny genes and even molecules.
At this moment, Wang Chao's mind was no longer on the pages of the book, but was immersed in thinking about martial arts.
"If I'm not mistaken, current martial arts training is fundamentally flawed—true training requires a massive amount of energy to support it."
He ran his fingertips along the pages of the book, and made a judgment in his mind.
"What we now call martial arts and martial arts are nothing more than a powerful mental state forcibly supporting this body."
Whether it's internal strength or the realm of mastery, both require a strong mental state to allow the energy to flow through the limbs, bones, and internal organs, training areas that ordinary people cannot train, and increasing physical strength.
A master of the Transformation Realm is already quite formidable; it's normal for them to kick down an iron stake that's twenty or thirty centimeters long with one kick, snap a large tree that can be embraced with two or three kicks, and demolish a concrete wall.
This is the power of a master of Transformation Realm.
But in Wang Chao's eyes now, this strength is pitifully weak.
He tested his strength.
A mere flick of the finger can destroy a modern building; it can run faster than the speed of sound in the sky; and a single breath can kill thousands of people.
If he wanted to, he could destroy a city block in a second. Any modern invention, no matter what kind of steel torrent, would be like a bubble in his eyes.
Furthermore, mental power can cover an entire city, causing brain death in tens of thousands of people.
But Wang Chao knew that this was not his limit.
"Based on the calculations of the past few days, with my current mental state, if I have enough energy to reach my limit, my mental power can cover a province with a diameter of several hundred kilometers and hundreds of thousands of square kilometers."
"The energy contained within my body will reach an astonishing level; if it were fully released, the entire province would sink."
He took out a pen and paper and wrote down the results. Looking at the calculations on the paper, he found it unbelievable even to himself.
This is a province in Kyushu, which is basically equivalent to a country like the Rising Sun.
The human body can contain the power to destroy a country.
This was something that Wang Chao found hard to believe.
"Based on the calculations of the past few days, if we were to set a standard, for example, the vitality of an ordinary person is 0.5, while the peak of Dark Force is 1, and Transformation Force is 1.5."
"My current vitality is 10—"
"But the limit I can accommodate is around 60 life force."
This is not simply addition; the energy difference between each point of vitality increases exponentially, multiplying several times over.
"Based on my current calculations, if we only eat low-level nutrients like chicken, duck, and fish, the human body's maximum lifespan is only around 3."
Wang Chao frowned as he looked at the result.
The limit that can be reached by neutralizing internal energy is only a little over one point, while the normal limit is 3.
The difference in vitality is like that of an ordinary person who is dying and about to die versus an elephant weighing one or two tons—they are simply not in the same league.
"So, that means there are at least three more spiritual realms above the Transformation Realm?"
However, after reading and reflecting for the past few days, Wang Chao's spiritual realm has also reached a barrier.
He also realized what the next level was called.
"The 'Embracing the Elixir' sitting posture in traditional Chinese martial arts is equivalent to the 'Sitting in Oblivion' state of mind."
He looked at the copy of Zhuangzi in his hand, which was turned to the chapter "The Great Master".
What is meant by "sitting in oblivion"?
Abandoning limbs and intelligence, separating from form and wisdom, one becomes one with the Great Void; this is called sitting in oblivion.
This state of mind is also described in the Treatise on Sitting in Oblivion.
One who is of one mind with Heaven yet knows nothing, one who is one body with the Dao yet has no form, then the Dao of Heaven flourishes. This refers to one who has attained its ultimate realization.
The spirit does not depart from the body, but endures as long as the Tao. And since the body is one with the Tao, it exists at all times. Since the mind is one with the Tao, it understands all laws. Since the ears are one with the Tao, there is no sound that cannot be heard; since the eyes are one with the Tao, there is no color that cannot be seen.
The same stance in martial arts, known as "Baodan Di" (抱丹地), is called "jiazi" (架子).
Whether it's the Wuji stance in Tai Chi, or the texts in alchemical texts, Daoist scriptures, or the Huangting Jing, they all describe a state of "emptiness and chaos, returning to the primordial chaos, leaving only a glimmer of light."
In the Buddhist Heart Sutra, it is described as "no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or dharma."
Forgetting one's own self and physical form, and merging with the Great Dao, achieving oneness with Heaven and Man, this is the essence of sitting in oblivion.
"The way, the way of heaven—"
Wang Chao closed his eyes, and in that instant, he seemed to feel his soul soaring out to the heavens.
At this moment, he could feel the rotation of the entire Earth and even "see" the operation of the entire solar system.
