Chapter 458 Mental Energy
The bells of Verma tolled incessantly, the Vanya elves sang hymns praising the Valar, and everyone rejoiced at the resurrection of the Two Sacred Trees. The newborn elves, bathed in the light of the Two Sacred Trees, became even purer and stronger.
The ancient high elves, who had witnessed the glory of the Twin Trees, looked at the radiant Twin Trees on the hillside outside the west gate and felt as if they had returned to the era of the Twin Trees.
Ingwe, the High King of the Vanya Elves, personally received the Valar. He was the common High King of all Elves, and also the oldest and most powerful primordial Elf, serving Manwë.
Amidst the chanting of the Vanya elves throughout the city, and accompanied by numerous Maiar, the Vera and Dui participated in a grand celebration and banquet.
Manwë announced to the Maiar and the elves the resurrection of the Two Trees and the credit of Dui.
Duir's name officially resounded throughout the city of Verma and even the entire Valinor. The Maiar admired this wizard who could become a guest of honor at the Valar's seat, while the elves regarded him as the healer of the Two Sacred Trees.
From this day forward, as long as the Tree of the Two Gods exists, Duir's name will be bound to it, becoming an eternal symbol.
[Hogwarts Check-in System: Location: Valinor - Verma City, Check-in required?]
At Vera's banquet, Dui received a notification from the system.
Dui remained expressionless, calmly replying in his mind, "Signing in."
[Sign-in successful! Congratulations on obtaining the true secret of the magic of love!]
The magic of love? Dui asked in surprise.
Dui thought for a moment, only remembering that Dumbledore often talked about the power of love, but after studying magic for so long, he still didn't understand this so-called "love magic".
He curiously accepted the memories, and a surge of knowledge flooded into his mind.
After absorbing the memories, Dui suddenly realized what was happening.
The so-called magic of love is essentially the power of the mind, driven entirely by the sincerity of emotions, and has nothing to do with external mediums such as wands or spells.
The mind is an invisible force, more mysterious than magic, and perhaps even more powerful than magic.
It is far more magical and terrifying than death, human wisdom, and the forces of nature; it can withstand all deadly curses, and even the Killing Curse cannot cause harm.
It is not an external force, but rather a force that originates from within; it is a power of the soul.
This power was called "the power of love" by Dumbledore.
Harry Potter possessed the power of love because of his mother Lily Evans's voluntary sacrifice, which enabled him to deflect Voldemort's Killing Curse, even making Voldemort unable to touch him, and ultimately defeating and destroying Voldemort.
The power of the mind is not mysterious or difficult to understand; in fact, the power of the mind is involved in many applications of magic.
For example, the Patronus Charm is a spell that utilizes mental power. It requires the caster to maintain pure, joyful memories and have a strong sense of joy and a protective will in order to successfully summon a physical guardian deity.
Furthermore, in the world of Harry Potter, the power of magic is closely related to the caster's emotions. This is essentially an application of mental power, using mental strength to leverage more magic and thus successfully unleash powerful spells.
An ordinary wizard might unleash tremendous power in order to protect his family.
For example, Molly Weasley unleashed a fighting power far exceeding her previous abilities because of the sacrifice of her son Fred and in order to protect her daughter, directly killing Bellatrix Lestrange, Voldemort's most fanatical and dangerous Death Eater.
It can be said that the power of the mind is the key to mastering magic.
Furthermore, within the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic, there is a room that is always locked, containing "love," which is spiritual energy.
Originally, this kind of spiritual energy should not exist in reality, but ancient wizards used special methods to store the intangible spiritual energy in the room of the Department of Mystic Affairs, thus forming tangible energy.
The method for creating such a space to store spiritual energy is included in the knowledge memory that Dui checked in this time.
Dui was invigorated; he was very interested in psychic energy, a power that originated from within.
The energy of the mind can be described as a power with infinite potential and immense strength. All intelligent beings can generate mental energy, and it is a power that will never run dry.
As long as intelligent beings exist in this world, the energy of the mind will be inexhaustible.
If he could master this power, perhaps he could take that final step in the future, instead of being as eager as Morgoth to seize the Secret Fire.
Thinking this way, Dui became even more impatient.
He thought he should create a room similar to the Department of Mysteries, or even a larger space, to contain the spiritual energy of all the intelligent life in Alda!
If he succeeds, he will truly possess an inexhaustible treasure trove of energy.
However, this matter cannot be rushed, and even if we want to create such a treasure trove of the soul, it is not suitable to build it in Valinor, but should be built on the continent of Middle-earth.
Valinor is too peaceful and serene, and the elves of Valinor are detached and have little emotion, making them not the best producers of spiritual energy.
On the contrary, humans are full of emotions, and their short lifespan of a hundred years makes them strive to shine with the brilliance of life, resulting in extremely rich spiritual energy.
Therefore, if Dui wants to collect spiritual energy, it would be best to go to Middle-earth.
However, going to Middle-earth is not easy; one must at least become a Vala-level being.
While Valinor restricted elves and Maiar from traveling to the world of Arda, it did not impose such restrictions on the Valar.
Oromi, the god of the hunt, loved Middle-earth and often rode his steed through its forests to hunt down Morgoth's remaining minions.
For example, Ulmo has been away from Valinor for a long time, instead staying in the waters of the world of Arda.
Because the Valar are the true ruling class of Valinor, the rules and restrictions they set are useless against them.
Returning to the Vira banquet, in recognition of Dui's achievements in creating the starry sky and resurrecting the two sacred trees, Manwë granted Dui the Avasha region in the southeast of Aman, on the eastern foothills of the Perorei Mountains, as his territory.
That place was once the stronghold of the evil god Ugguliant, but it was abandoned after Ugguliant and Morgoth conspired to destroy the Two Trees and escape.
Avasha means "shadow" in the ancient Quenya language. Because of the dark power of the evil god Filthy, it has the deepest and most intense shadow in the world, and the environment is dark and dangerous.
Granting such a place to Dui was not Manwë's deliberate attempt to make things difficult, but rather the result of careful consideration.
Although shrouded in shadow, Arsha is a long and narrow expanse with a superior geographical location. Unlike the cold and barren north of Aman, it has a very pleasant climate, natural bays suitable for building harbors, and northward access to places like Tirian and Swan Harbor.
Moreover, Dui possesses the fruits and flowers of the Twin Sacred Trees, enough to dispel the shadow of Avasha and transform this place into a sanctuary.
Thus, Dui finally had a territory of his own in Aman.
After the celebrations in Verma ended, Dui bid farewell to the All Valar and returned to Tirian.
Before leaving, however, he went to the Twin Trees and broke off a branch from the Gold Tree and the Silver Tree, and used the hair of Manwë and Varda to make two powerful wands.
After returning to Tyrean and reuniting with his wife and son, Dui bid farewell to Fennaffin, the High King of the Noldor, and left Tyrean with his wife Arwen and son Elses, heading towards Avasha to build their home there.
