Chapter 455 Resurrecting the Two Sacred Trees

Chapter 455 Resurrecting the Two Sacred Trees

Maiarion and Tyrion, piloting the Sun Ship and Moon Ship, delivered the golden tree fruits and silver tree flowers carried on board to Varda.

The fruit of the golden tree and the blossom of the silver tree are the source of the sun and moon of Arda. After Morgoth and the evil god Uggolianth conspired to destroy the two sacred trees, the plant goddess Yavanna used her song to bring forth these last blossoms and fruits to replace the two sacred trees and continue to illuminate the world.

Now, amidst the songs of the many Vera, with this flower and this fruit as the core, an even larger and more intense star and moon have been created.

The star sung by the Valar was incredibly hot, burning with the blazing fire of the sun. Besides the Valar, only Maiah Arene, who piloted the Sunship, could withstand it.

The star was too hot and had a huge gravitational pull. If Manwë hadn't summoned thick clouds to block the sun, the earth would probably have been scorched into scorched earth and life would have been extinguished long ago.

But the sun couldn't stay in the atmosphere forever, so Varda pushed it out of the world, making it farther away from Arda than any other planet.

The moon was also pushed into a similar orbit, to the east and west of the sun, at the eastern and western poles of Arda, and then revolved around the spherical Arda.

Thus, the sun of Arda no longer rises only from the easternmost point of Middle-earth and eventually sets in the outer sea west of Valinor.

Instead, it revolves around the entire world of Arda, bringing light to what was once a land of eternal night, and eliminating any land of sunrise.

After all this was accomplished, a vast galaxy centered on Arda and composed of billions of stars and celestial bodies came into being.

Beyond the world of Arda, there is no longer an eternally dark void, but rather light and color.

The constantly rotating planets add a touch of silent vitality to the originally silent universe.

Of course, the galaxy created by the Valar together still only occupies a small part of the "Ilya" universe created by Ilúvatar, and the more distant cosmic space is still shrouded in darkness and nothingness.

However, expanding space, turning galaxies into galaxy clusters, the Milky Way, and even filling the entire sub-universe with planets, cannot be accomplished in a short time. It requires Varda, the Queen of Stars, to continuously create stars.

Although this may seem like a tedious and endless task, it should be something that Varda, who is able to expand the realm of the Star Authority, enjoys immensely.

After all, with the continuous improvement of planets and celestial bodies, perhaps the true leader of the Valar will be Varda, the goddess of the stars who controls the cosmos.

Out of gratitude for the help of the Valar and the Maiar, Varda also allowed each of the gods to claim their own star.

The water god Ulmo claimed Mercury's Eleimir, the war god Tokas claimed Mars's Carnir, the blacksmith god Auri claimed Saturn's Lumbar, the plant goddess Yavana claimed Jupiter's Arcalinki, and Manwe claimed Uranus's Luniel.

The other Veras also chose different stars according to their own preferences, almost all of which were planets that matched their attributes.

Among the Maia, Arene and Tyrion, who originally piloted the Sun Ship and Moon Ship, also claimed the Sun Star and the Moon Star because of their past diligent work.

As for Venus Eyarendil, she will continue to be claimed by Eyarendil.

As for Dui, Varda, in gratitude to Dui, personally created a dazzling star and hung it at the North Celestial Pole of Arda.

Unlike other stars that move and revolve in the sky, this star is fixed at the North Celestial Pole, becoming the center of all stars.

It is the North Star of Arda, named the Star of Duir by Varda, eternally fixed, forever guiding the way for all beings of Arda.

The planet's initial creation was complete, but Varda still had one troubling problem.

That is, although the stars are bright, they can never compare with the sun and the moon. And the universe is boundless. The only sun can illuminate Alda and the nearby universe, but even sunlight cannot reach places further away.

Although she could create more stars to fill the void in the universe, to the boundless darkness of the cosmos, that starlight was as insignificant as a firefly in the night.

To fill the vast universe with light, we would need to create more suns to make the universe full of life.

In this respect, even the equally bright moon cannot compare to the sun's power.

If the Twin Trees were still alive, Varda could have easily induced the production of even more Golden Tree Fruits, thereby creating even more Sun Stars.

However, ever since the Two Trees were destroyed by Morgoth and the evil god Uggolianth, and were reborn by the plant goddess Yavanna with the last golden fruit and a silver flower, they have completely withered.

Just as Varda was troubled, Dui stepped forward.

"Teacher, I may have a way to revive the Twin Trees."

Varda's eyes lit up. "Duir, do you have a plan?"

Now Varda trusts Dui very much. Ever since she completed the creation of the starry sky under Dui's guidance, Varda has truly placed Dui on an equal footing and takes his words very seriously.

The other Vera looked at Dui with surprise and curiosity.

In particular, the plant goddess Yavanna was very curious. As the Vera who created the two sacred trees, she was also unable to revive them. She was very curious about how Dui could achieve what she could not.

Yavana knew that the only way to revive the Twin Trees was to break the three Silmarils before they completely withered, extract the primordial light contained within, and then use her power to bring them back to life.

However, Fëanor, who had once created the Silmarillion, resolutely rejected Avana's request. Avana lost the crucial "Original Light Spark," making it impossible for the sacred tree to revive before its roots rotted.

Moreover, of the three Silmarillion stones, one has fallen into the depths of a fissure in the earth, one has fallen into the sea, and one has risen into the sky to become a star. They have all found their own place and have their own destiny, and it is impossible for them to be reunited.

Therefore, when creating the new Venus Eyarendil, Varda did not hesitate to use the Silmaril as the star core to reshape the planet.

Facing the gazes of the other Veras, Dui remained calm and composed, waving towards a tree in the gardens of the Ilmarin Palace.

Enveloped by the power of time, the tree visibly regressed in time, shrinking smaller and smaller until it finally became a seed buried in the soil.

Seeing this, the Vera were both surprised and bewildered.

"What a mysterious and powerful force of time!" exclaimed the plant goddess Yavana, her vibrant eyes smiling as she looked at Dui. "You intend to use time reversal to bring Laurellin and Telperian back to a time when they were still together?"

Dui nodded, but still looked ashamed and said, "However, four eras have passed since the destruction of the Twin Trees, and my power is weak. I may not be able to restore the Twin Trees to their healthy state. Therefore, I will need the help of Your Highness Yavana and the other Vera."

Upon hearing this, Yavana revealed a warm and infectious smile: "Laurelin and Telperion are trees I created. I am also looking forward to their resurrection. If you need anything, please let me know."

"Then thank you very much, Your Highness Yavana!" Dui said with a slight bow.

Other Villars also expressed their willingness to lend a hand.

So the gods and Dui descended upon Verma, the capital of Valinor, via the Golden Bridge.

Velma is the city inhabited by the Vanya elves, the Vera, and the Maiar. The city is magnificent and enormous, like a city of giants.

The floor was silver, as if cast from silver, and covered with countless tiny diamonds. The roofs of the city's buildings were mostly gold, as if made of gold, while the doors were bright bronze, engraved with exquisite patterns and stories from the beginning of creation.

Silver bells or gold bells are hung on the towers, domes and public buildings in the city, and the bells ring out continuously for daily timekeeping, festivals, gatherings and celebrations.

The bells rang throughout the city, solemn and sacred, but not noisy or harsh. Instead, they formed a magnificent symphony of bells, which was both awe-inspiring and enlightening.
