Morgoth continued, "I can teach you how to gain even greater power, to become as powerful as the Valar, and even, with the power of time you have mastered, to become the most powerful of the Valar!"
Morgoth's voice is full of seductive power; the voice of the soul echoes through the river of time, stirring up waves.
It also kept echoing in Dui's mind, constantly tempting him to obey.
Dui felt a chill run down his spine and quickly used his time manipulation powers to create layers of time barriers around himself, isolating himself from Morgoth's seduction.
Then he turned around and headed downstream without hesitation, ignoring Morgoth's temptations.
As if sensing Dui's intention, Morgoth spoke up just as he turned to walk down the flow of time.

"I can tell you about the Secret Fire!"
Dui paused in his steps, then turned to look at Morgoth in the time-space screen, his face filled with wariness and suspicion.

The Secret Fire, also known as the Unquenchable Fire, which Morgoth speaks of, is the unique creative power of the creator god Ilúvatar.
In the beginning of creation, Ilúvatar sent the Secret Fire into the Void, and thus the Ayar (universe) was born. She also ignited the Aenur with the Secret Fire, giving them life and free will.
The Aenu, following Ilúvatar's will, transformed into the Valar and the Maiar, entering the Ayar universe to create the world of Arda.
Ilúvatar also used the Secret Fire to create the souls of elves and men, allowing them to awaken in the world of Arda, which was created by the Valar.
It can be said that the Secret Fire is the source and core of the soul; without the Secret Fire, the soul cannot be created.
The dwarves created by Viraolli initially had no souls or independent will, until Ilúvatar gave them life with the Secret Fire, at which point the dwarves gained free will.
