Chapter 397 Siege of Sauron
Chapter 397 Siege of Sauron
Chapter 397 Siege of Sauron
Gandalf, Elrond, and the others were all filled with amazement as they watched the magical barrier created by nearly ten thousand wizards working together.
Although the power of each wizard is like a firefly compared to the moon when compared to these top experts, the combined power they display is enough to make them take notice.
They could sense that even with their full force, they couldn't break through this barrier in a short time.
This gave Gandalf and his men more confidence in the upcoming war.
They believed that as long as they held off Sauron, preventing him from interfering, none of Sauron's henchmen would be a match for Duir's wizard army.
As time passed, the dark clouds from the north, pressing down on the city, swept southward.
Everyone felt a tremendous pressure coming from the north. Although it was not yet night, the surrounding sky darkened, and the air became stagnant and heavy, making it difficult to breathe.
The dark clouds, carrying an aggressive air, threatened to envelop Dui and the others, but were blocked by a magical barrier cast by the group together.
With the barrier as the boundary, the sky on one side is cloudless, while the sky on the other side is covered with dark clouds.
The two sides are clearly distinct, forming a sharp angle, and they are locked in a fierce confrontation.
Beneath the dark clouds, on the distant mountain peaks, appeared a dense, dark army.
The army included orcs, wargs, trolls, ghouls, and dark humans. The army was permeated with a dark aura, all of whom had been corrupted by Sauron's power. They appeared to have become more powerful and dangerous, but they were also corrupted and twisted, completely devoid of thought and will, leaving only madness.
The Witch-King of Angmar still commands the dark army, while Sauron rides on the back of a beast far larger and more terrifying than any of the other fallen flying beasts.
This monster is the source of all the fallen flying beasts of Mordor. It has a wider wingspan, its body is covered with scales as hard as iron, it emits a nauseating stench, and its eyes flash with an evil red light.
Moreover, the screams emitted can instill fear and rob people of the courage to resist, as if they were the very source of fear.
Upon seeing Dui and his group, the dark army became frenzied and bloodthirsty, accelerating its charge towards them.
The fastest of all, the corpse demons and dire wolves, flashed past like black shadows, leaping high and crossing the river to charge at the wizards.
But the next second, their bodies turned to ashes the instant they passed through the magical barrier. Even the evil spirit residing in the corpse demon's body didn't have time to escape. It let out a mournful scream and vanished in a wisp of black smoke.
The dark army's offensive was temporarily halted by the magical barrier.
Perhaps wanting to impress his master, the Witch-King of Angmar rode his fallen flying beast from behind to the front of the battle. His body was enveloped in a dense, inky dark power, which transformed into a dark torrent that crashed into the magical barrier and attempted to corrode it.
The Witch-King of Angmar's dark magic attack caused ripples on the magical barrier, but it did not shake it in the slightest.
Seeing that he had failed, the Witch-King of Angmar grew even more gloomy, and the evil red light flashing in his eyes became even more menacing.
Just as they were about to continue their relentless assault on the barrier, Sauron called a halt.
The Witch-King of Angmar stiffened, bowing deeply with awe and reverence: "Master, I have disappointed you!"
Ignoring the Witch-King of Angmar, Sauron stood atop the ferocious and evil beast, locking onto Dui and the others through the barrier.
His gaze swept over Dui, Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel, and Glorfindel, radiating boundless confidence.
"Wizards and elves, you cannot stop me from handing over the One Ring! I have regained my form and power; you are no match for me. If you obediently hand over the Ring, I may mercifully spare your lives!"
As he spoke, Soren unleashed a terrifying aura, instantly causing the sky to darken and the earth to tremble.
Pure and powerful dark energy spread from Sauron, filling the world like a terrifying dark sea, crashing against the barrier like a tidal wave, seemingly intent on breaking it down.
The magical barrier, cast by nearly ten thousand people, rippled and became shaky under the impact of this vast dark power.
Even through the magical barrier, everyone felt an immense sense of suffocation, their spirits were under immense pressure, and they looked uncomfortable.
Dui raised a silver wand, releasing powerful magic that flowed into the magical barrier.
The previously crumbling magical barrier quickly recovered considerably and remained standing despite the impact of Sauron's power.
The wand in Duy's hand is the most powerful wand he has ever made for himself. The wand is a branch of the White Tree, but not the one in his garden. It comes from Galahirian, the first White Tree in Valinor.
Galahirian is a sacred white tree created by the plant goddess Yavanna in imitation of Telperion, one of the two sacred trees. It is slightly smaller than Telperion and does not emit light.
It was given to the elves by Yavana and planted in the square of the elven city of Tirian; it is the ancestor of all sacred white trees.
When Glorfindel was sent back to Middle-earth by the Valar to help fight Sauron, he broke off a branch from the White Tree of Tirian before leaving Valinor and brought it to Middle-earth as a memento.
Over the decades, Dui became acquainted with Glorfindel, imparted magical knowledge to him, and even made him a wand himself.
In return, Glorfindel gave him the branch.
As the first sacred white tree created by the plant goddess Yavanna herself, this is a truly divine tree, containing divine power and endless vitality.
So even though it was broken off by Glorfindel and brought back to Middle-earth thousands of years ago, the branch of the Sacred White Tree remains lush and vibrant, as if it had just been broken off the tree.
Using this branch of the sacred tree, combined with the nerves of the Balrog, and incorporating the craftsmanship of wand making, Dui recreated this wand that he was most satisfied with.
This Holy White Tree Wand is 15 inches long, entirely silver-white, inlaid with the Flame Demon Nerve, and its end is inlaid with an emerald green elven gem.
Moreover, the wand can change size at will; with a thought, it can quickly grow longer and larger, becoming a staff that is two meters long.
This wand is a masterpiece, combining the advantages of both wands and staves. It possesses the precise control of magic power of a wand and the amplification of magic power far exceeding that of a stave, making it a true artifact.
It is many times more powerful than the Elder Wand, one of the Deathly Hallows.
It was thanks to the power of this magic wand that Dui had the confidence to face Sauron at his peak.
After reinforcing the magical barrier, Dui shouted to those around him, "We can't let them break through this barrier; we have to take the initiative!"
He then crossed the barrier, stepped outside, and launched an attack directly at Sauron.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A deadly curse, dazzling in its own way and imbued with a fatal curse, shot straight toward Sauron.
After decades of meditation practice, Dui's strength is now vastly different from what it used to be, far surpassing his former self, and the killing curse he unleashes is even more powerful and deadly.
Not to mention the wand in Dui's hand, with its sacred white tree staff body and flaming demon nerve core.
