Chapter 181 Heading West
Chapter 181 Heading West
Chapter 181 Heading West
On the training ground in the secluded valley,
Dui and Elohir are locked in a battle.
Elladan and his sister Alwen watched from the sidelines.
Wearing a long, fitted elven battle suit sewn for him by Alwen, and wielding the divine spear Eglos, Dui constantly dodged and defended against Elohir's attacks with a reaction and agility that surpassed the limits of mortals.
In the fierce contest between the two, Dui was still at a disadvantage, but he was able to fight back and forth and was not defeated quickly.
Elohir wielded an elven sword, exuding an elegance and beauty characteristic of elves throughout the battle, his expression relaxed yet filled with admiration as he looked at his opponent.
Meanwhile, through long-term training with Elohir and Elladan, Dui unknowingly learned the fighting style of the elves.
If you didn't look at his ears, you would think he was an elf.
Thanks to the Tree People's Ent Drink, Dui's physical condition is now no worse than that of an elf.
This is also why his martial arts improved so quickly, and why he was able to hold out for so long against Elohir, who had thousands of years of combat experience.
Alwen and Elladan, who were watching from the sidelines, both looked at the two with admiration.
"Duir's martial arts are improving rapidly. If given more time, he may very well become a powerful warrior," Elladan commented admiringly.
Alvin's gaze followed Dui's figure. She shook her head slightly and said gently, "He doesn't need to become a warrior; magic is his most powerful weapon."
Elladan nodded and smiled.
"Indeed, compared to his noviceship in martial arts, magic is his forte, after all, he is a renowned black-robed wizard in Middle-earth."
If he were allowed to use magic, it would probably be Elohir and me being overwhelmed right now!
The battle ended quickly.
Unsurprisingly, Dui lost again this time.
Elohir sheathed the elven sword and handed back the stolen spear Aegros to Dui with a smile.
"Your martial arts skills have reached a high level. Even some elven warriors are no match for you. You have passed the test. Simple sparring will no longer be of much use. If you want to improve, you will have to fight to the death."
Dui took the spear, took a breath, and nodded.
"I understand. And thank you for all the training you and Elladan have given me over the years; it has been very rewarding."
He knew that Elohir and Elladan, although they said they wanted to teach him a lesson through a contest, actually taught him all kinds of martial arts without reservation and kept feeding him moves, which is why he improved so quickly and was not still a fragile wizard.
Of course, there might be a tiny bit of displeasure among them because their beloved younger sister was taken away, but basically it's all harmless.
Upon hearing this, Elohir's smile deepened, and his resentment towards Dui for taking his sister away lessened somewhat.
The two stepped off the training platform. Alvin walked towards Dui, wiped his sweat with a soft silk handkerchief, and gently handed him a drink.
"You must be tired. Have some water."
Dui deliberately bent down, looking at the beauty with gentle eyes, and let her wipe his sweat.
Then he took the glass and drank the beverage in one gulp.
I felt a surge of energy and my fatigue instantly subsided.
Seeing Dui's eyes light up, Alvin smiled and said, "This is dew I collected from the leaves of the Holy White Tree. I added a little honey. If you like, I can make it for you later."
Dui's eyes sparkled, and she nodded happily: "Okay!"
The two older brothers, who seemed to have been forgotten, were now filled with resentment, their initial slight resentment towards Dui surging.
I hate guys with blond hair who try to seduce my sister!
Elladan quickly interrupted, "Duir, I heard from Alwen that you recently forged a fine sword with exquisite craftsmanship. Let us take a look."
Elohir nodded in agreement.
Dui exchanged a helpless glance with Alwen; these two brothers-in-law always managed to ruin the atmosphere.
Alwen gave Dui a comforting look, amused, and stopped trying to incite hatred in front of her two brothers. She then put away the silk scarf she had been using to wipe her sweat.
Pressed by his two brothers-in-law, Dui had no choice but to extend his hand and softly utter, "Sword of Flames!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a magnificent silver sword appeared out of thin air in his hand. The red gem on the hilt shimmered with a fiery light, making the surrounding air seem to rise several degrees in temperature.
Seeing the sword that appeared in Dui's hand, Elohir and Elladan were filled with amazement and shock.
"I can feel an incredibly intense heat from the sword. If I were to touch it with my hands, I would probably get burned!" Elohir exclaimed, leaning back slightly as if he couldn't bear the sword's heat.
Dui smiled and handed over the sword. "You can try it out."
Elohir was startled by Dui's actions; he could clearly feel the heat emanating from the sword, enough to burn a person to death.
However, upon touching the blade, there was no burning sensation as expected; instead, it only felt warm to the touch and was not hot to the touch.
Seeing Dui deliberately teasing his brother, Alwen felt a little helpless and explained to Elohir and Elladan, "This flaming sword is extremely hot, but once it gains Dui's approval and permission, it will have no effect, so there's no need to worry about it burning people."
Elohir and Elladan were taken aback by what they heard and were amazed by the flaming sword.
Just then, Elrond walked over from a short distance away, accompanied by his secretary, Lindir.
"Father!" Alwen, Elohir, and Elladan cried out.
"Lord Elrond, Lindir, what brings you here?" Dui asked, somewhat surprised.
Elrond's gaze instantly fell on the flaming sword in Elohir's hand, and he said with a gentle smile, "I sensed a scorching heat from afar, so I came here with Lindir."
"Is this the Flaming Sword you reforged, Duir? May I take a look?"
"Of course." Dui naturally wouldn't mind.
Elohir handed the sword in his hand to Elrond.
Elrond took the sword, examined it carefully, and then exclaimed in admiration:
"A novel and unique forging technique that pushes the metal's capabilities to their limits and endows it with memory, making it sharp, indestructible, self-healing, and able to absorb beneficial substances to continuously strengthen itself!"
This is a skill that neither elven nor dwarven craftsmen possess; Duir has once again surprised me!
Dui was even more surprised.
He marveled at Elrond, truly deserving of his reputation as one of the most knowledgeable sages in Middle-earth, for recognizing the sword's properties so quickly.
Immediately, the Ring of Air, Vya, appeared between Elrond's fingers, its gem shimmering like a brilliant blue star. He grasped the Blazing Sword and channeled the power of the Ring of Air into it.
"Lord Elrond, what's going on...?" Dui asked in surprise.
After absorbing the power of the Qi Ring, the Blazing Sword became even more extraordinary.
Elrond smiled and handed the flaming sword to Dui: "Give it a try."
Dui took the sword and tried to swing it a few times. He found that the sword was moving faster. The air resistance seemed to have disappeared and instead turned into a thrust, leaving only afterimages.
He slashed again in the direction where no one was, and instantly a blade of air flew out from the sword, quickly cutting through the air and splitting a boulder in two.
"Sword energy?" Dui's eyes lit up immediately.
Did he suddenly appear in the martial arts channel?
Upon closer inspection, in addition to the smooth cut surface, there were traces of burning and melting.
Clearly, in addition to being sharp, that "sword energy" also carried extremely high temperatures, doubling the damage.
The others present were also very surprised to see this.
Dui was overjoyed. Now his Flaming Sword was not only a melee weapon, but also a ranged weapon!
"I don't know how to thank you enough, Lord Elrond!" Dui was grateful to the elven elder who had helped him so much.
Elrond shook his head slightly.
"Please do your best to return safely from this trip. Don't let Alvin worry about you!"
Dui looked at Alwen, his gaze softening, and nodded.
"I understand, I'll come back safely!"
Because Dui was going on a long journey, Elrond, Elohir, and Elladan did not bother him any further.
Let Dui and Alvin spend their last moments together.
The two strolled slowly through the winding, elven corridors of the valley.
The elves' emotions were restrained and enduring; Alvin was not like a couple deeply in love, inseparable for even a moment, nor did she ask to travel together.
She simply said gently, "While you're away, I'll stay at Hogwarts to take care of your friends and people. You don't need to worry about home. Just remember to protect yourself and don't get hurt."
She took off the Twilight Star necklace hanging on her chest and placed it in Dui's hand.
"I hope it can protect you in my place, so that I may be with you no matter when or where."
Dui looked at the sparkling gem in his hand, then at the gentle and persistent Alwen, his eyes swirling with emotion.
He took a deep breath, hugged Alvin tightly, and inhaled her unique fragrance, said in a deep voice, "It's so good to have you!"
Alvin was somewhat caught off guard, but upon hearing his words, her eyebrows curved gently into a soft arc, her eyes filled with warm starlight, and she gently stroked his broad back with her arms around him.
For the next few days, Dui stayed with Alwen and they returned to Fengyun Peak together.
Alvin collects dew from the Sacred White Tree daily to make magical drinks, or picks fruit from the Mauron Tree to make Lanbas.
These were then used as drinking water and dry rations for Dui when he went out.
When it was time to part, Alvin stayed in the castle, while Dui rode the giant eagle Sorondo and left Windrise.
His first destination was Grey Harbor, located on the western coast.
However, besides searching for materials to make the magic stone, he also had the opportunity to complete a daily check-in task.
Therefore, he did not use the FlooNet to reach Bilbo's house, thus shortening the journey.
Instead, it flew north towards Fengyun Peak.
He planned to take a detour and go first to North Hill Fornost, north of the Wind and Cloud Hills.
