Chapter 68 The White Way Society
Chapter 68 The White Way Society
What kind of request is that?
Dui was speechless.
Exchanging a magic wand for a fairy gem is practically the same as giving it away for free.
Then, to Dui's astonishment, Galadriel gently cut a strand of hair with her hand, and a shimmering strand of silvery gold hair fell into her hand.
"Elrond told me about the ingredients needed for wands, so let's use these as the core materials for Arwen and the others' wands."
Dui took the strand of hair and felt as if the stars were shining in his hand.
It is truly worthy of being the hair that even Fëanor, the creator of the Silmarils, requested as a gift. As a Light Elf who was once bathed in the light of the Two Trees and is the most powerful Elf in Middle-earth, even a few strands of her hair possess extraordinary power.
Dui was both surprised and delighted. There were five strands in this lock of hair, three of which could be used to make wands for the three siblings, Elrohir, Elladan, and Arwen.
Of the remaining two, one can be used to try and make Gandalf's wand.
But the remaining one was given away as a gift.
He benefited from Alvin and his group, gaining an honor that even Fëanor, the Crafter of the Silmarils, had never received.
Dui plucked a leaf from the side, used Transfiguration to transform it into a beautiful silk handkerchief, carefully wrapped the strand of hair in it, tucked it into his bosom, and then solemnly assured Galadriel.
"Don't worry, Madam, I will definitely make a powerful wand for His Highness Alvin and the others."
Galadriel smiled upon hearing this.
But even in such a wonderful atmosphere, there are always people who spoil the mood.
"Gandalf, why did you bring an irrelevant person to such an important occasion? You're becoming more and more unreliable."
An aged voice, tinged with sarcasm, came from not far away.
A tall, slightly thin old man in white robes appeared, holding a staff, with a cold and dignified expression.
Gandalf's initial joy at seeing Galadriel instantly vanished, but he still forced a smile and turned to the newcomer with a polite nod: "Saruman, it's been a long time."
Then he introduced Dui: "This is my friend, the black-robed wizard Duiel. He's not an irrelevant person; there's a reason I brought him to this meeting..."
"A black-robed wizard?" Saruman interrupted Gandalf, his sharp eyes sweeping over Dui before revealing a look of disdain. "Gandalf, when did you come to know such a third-rate sorcerer? He dares to call himself a black-robed wizard after learning a few magical tricks?"
Gandalf took a deep breath and gave Dui an apologetic look.
Saruman had always been at odds with Gandalf, and Dui was completely implicated by him this time.
Dui shook his head slightly at Gandalf, not paying much attention to Saruman's mockery and belittling.
He stared directly at the white-robed wizard before him, his expression showing no fear or timidity, for he had already foreseen Saruman's fate.
As the only white-robed wizard among the five who voluntarily came to Middle-earth, Saruman possessed the greatest strength and status, and was also the leader of the White Way.
However, Saruman was narrow-minded and petty. After learning that the shipbuilder Cildan had given the Ring of Fire, Naya, one of the Three Rings of the Elves, to Gandalf instead of him, he became extremely jealous of Gandalf and remained at odds with him.
He even secretly wanted to forge a Ring of Power that surpassed the Three Rings of the Elves.
However, Saruman lacked Sauron's forging skills, which enabled him to create a powerful Ring of Power. Therefore, he turned his attention to the One Ring that Sauron had lost.
He even tried to find the One Ring in the Anduin River, where it was lost.
But in the end, they gained nothing.
Although Saruman has not yet fallen into darkness and colluded with the demon king Sauron.
But it won't be long before he uses the True Knowledge Crystal in his hand to hook up with the Demon King Sauron.
So Dui didn't pay much attention to him; why bother with pointless arguments when someone is destined to die?
Moreover, the other party is now the leader of the White Way Society, and is even stronger than Gandalf. Directly confronting him would only be detrimental to us.
Saruman frowned, displeased, when he saw that Dui dared to look him directly in the eye.
However, given his status as the leader of the White Path Society, he simply said coldly, "Unrelated personnel, leave this place. This is not a place for you."
“Saruman, Duir is someone I invited,” Gandalf said in a deep voice. “He is involved in what I’ve said, a witness to Nazghur, and a powerful ally!”
"Nazgul? Gandalf, are you kidding me?" Saruman sneered. "Back in the Battle of Mordor, these Ringwraiths vanished along with Sauron's defeat. And now you're saying you and this third-rate wizard saw Nazgul?"
"But the truth is, not long ago when we passed through Ancient Burial Mound, we encountered the Witch-King of Angmar who was possessed by a wight!" Gandalf argued forcefully.
"Furthermore, Darrigaster also brought news that a necromancer has appeared in Dorgon, and the relics belonging to Mordor—the Blade of Morgul—have been discovered."
As he spoke, he took out the Mogul Blade that he always carried with him and placed it in front of everyone.
Upon seeing the weapon radiating dark power, Elrond and Galadriel, who had remained silent until now, instantly became serious.
"This is the sword forged for the Witch-King of Angmar," Galadriel recognized. "After the fall of Angmar, the humans of the north sealed his body and all his belongings in the high hills of Rudolph, burying them deep beneath the rocks, never to see the light of day again."
Elrond frowned deeply, saying in disbelief, "This is impossible. That tomb is sealed with a powerful spell; it could never be opened. How did this sword come from there?"
Both of their eyes were fixed on Gandalf.
“The seal cannot be broken, but what if someone can summon him?” Gandalf said. “You and I both know his master, and if that person so desires, he can summon them to his side, no matter where he is.”
"Nonsense!" Saruman said angrily. "Sauron has already been defeated, and he can never regain his power."
"The One Ring, which he relied on, was also lost in the Anduin River. It may have been washed into the ocean by the river and is nowhere to be found. He could never come back."
"But the problem is we encountered the Witch-King of Angmar, and his power remains formidable. Duir met him once on Ancient Tomb Hill, and later we even encountered an army of undead under his control on the Eastern Road. We saw it with our own eyes; I couldn't possibly be mistaken!"
"That's just your opinion," Saruman insisted, glancing at Dui again. "Adding a third-rate sorcerer with no credibility to the mix makes it far from sufficient evidence."
Having been repeatedly insulted, Dui was not without temper. He said, "Since the wizard Saruman thinks this is not enough to prove anything, then I do have a way to prove that Gandalf's words are true."
Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Dui, even Gandalf was somewhat surprised.
