Chapter 614 Tracking Techniques 2

Chapter 614 Tracking Techniques 2

Seeing the white candle flame flicker and slant, Li Donglin didn't even lift his eyelids, his hand seals remained unchanged, and he continued to urge the magic.

"The Big Dipper, bearing the decree, descends; twelve post station officials, on horseback, immediately meet it. They inquire neither of city walls nor gates; they follow only the primordial bloodline, directly to its form. There they set up a shrine in the underworld, there they deploy a camp in the underworld; though shrouded in a thousand concealments, their true nature is revealed. The tokens on the altar, connected by bloodlines; with a single summons of the three souls, the location becomes clear. Heaven has its veins, earth has its energy pathways; a thousand miles in an instant, without delay or pause. The Supreme Lord's decree, swiftly reveal the hidden form; I, obeying the orders of the Immortal Officials of the Search, will carry it out with utmost speed!"

"The mantra we are reciting now is the Thousand-Mile Courier Urging Mantra!"

Seeing that things were starting to look promising, Fatty Lin whispered an explanation to me, "First, there's the incantation to set up the altar, then the incantation to draw blood and receive qi, and lighting the candles is the four-element candle qi-dividing and position-locking incantation!"

As he spoke, the Thousand-Mile Courier Spell had been recited three times. With each recitation, the tremors on the table grew stronger, and the black aura emanating from the blood-stained talisman and tattered cloth became more intense.

After the seventh recitation, the black mist followed the candlelight and formed a thin, long black thread that penetrated the wall and extended westward, forming a visible black line.

"Awesome!" I whispered.

Looking at Li Donglin again, after chanting the tracking incantation seven times, he pressed his sword finger against his brow and used his third eye to observe the direction of the yin energy flow to search for traces.

After about a minute, Li Donglin opened his eyes and said, "West, near the water, a private temple halfway up the mountain. Inside the temple is an altar of evil spirits, with a very strong aura of malevolent energy and a thick incense offering!"

Having said that, he slowly withdrew his sword finger, raised his hand and drew a talisman on the table, chanting: "The pursuit of Qi has been achieved, the directions are clear; gather your Yin Qi, return to the talisman form. The post station officials return to their positions, the four elements are at peace; the ritual is complete, each return to the Heavenly Court. On the day of the temple's destruction, summon the divine soldiers again, hasten as the law commands."

This time, I knew without Lin Pangzi's explanation that it was a ritual to close the altar.

After the incantation was completed, the flames of the four candles slowly died down, and the wisp of black smoke retreated back into the blood-stained talisman.

Li Donglin took out a blank yellow talisman, covered the tokens with it, folded it, and put it back into the waterproof bag to seal it.

Having done all that, he let out a breath, wiped the sweat from his brow, and said, "I've basically figured out the location. I'll give you directions in a bit, and we'll go investigate and see what's going on!"

"Brother Li, we already know where it is, so there's no rush. You should recover your energy first!" Fatty Lin said.

"Yes, let's get our energy back first!" I said as I brewed a cup of energy-boosting tea for him.

"Chirp chirp!"

Xiao Ba then hopped over and barked twice.

"Xiao Ba said that she also followed that wisp of black energy. She saw the resentment of many children in that temple and said there was a lot of bloodshed inside!" Long Nier translated.

"Damn it, it seems that kid from the mountain city isn't an isolated case!" Fatty Lin cursed.

Li Donglin's face darkened, and he put down his cup, saying, "We can't wait any longer, we're going now!"

"OK!"

This time, none of us refused.

After getting in the car, following Li Donglin's directions, we found the private temple located in the Western District of Hong Kong Island half an hour later.

This private temple is located in the dense forest of the Mid-Levels in the Western District of Hong Kong Island. It is in a very remote location, not facing the main road, and does not welcome visitors. The courtyard walls are high and painted entirely in black, while the main gate is red. The contrast between the red and black gives people a sense of oppression and gloom.

Not only that, the temple gates were tightly closed, and there wasn't even a decent plaque, making it almost eerily understated.

We parked the car on the side of the road and didn't approach rashly, but just looked at it from a distance.

"Chirp chirp!"

After watching for a while, Xiao Ba was the first to speak.

"Xiao Ba said that the main gate has a fierce aura, there is ashes inside the paint on the courtyard wall, and she can hear the wails of children. She told us not to get too close or look for too long, as it might attract attention!" Long Nier translated.

"Brother Li, Xiao Ba has already warned us. Let's get to work quickly, write down the address, take clear pictures of the surrounding environment, and leave as soon as we're done. We'll ask Brother Teddy to help us investigate later!" Fatty Lin said.

"OK!"

Li Donglin nodded.

For the next few minutes, we each did our part.

I took my camera and pointed it at the temple, capturing everything I could: the distant view, the courtyard walls, the entrance to the dense forest, and the landmarks along the mountain path. I made sure to capture all the angles so that I could clearly remember the temple's external layout and surrounding environment.

Fatty Lin took out a compass and pen and accurately noted down some coordinates, such as the arrangement of surrounding trees, the direction of water sources, and the elevation of the terrain.

Long Nier got out of the car and took Xiao Ba for a few laps around the area, occasionally spilling some things along the way.

Like Fatty Lin, Li Donglin also observed the feng shui layout of the surroundings and noted down some key points.

After taking the photos and recording the notes, we didn't linger and left immediately.

Back in the city, Fatty Lin took out his phone and called Hong Taidi.

After the call connected, Fatty Lin said with a smile, "Brother Teddy, I need your help!"

"Xiao Lin, in your Northeastern dialect, you're being distant with me again. Just say what you need to say, and I'll definitely get it done for you!" Hong Taidi said with a smile.

"Brother, I was wrong, I'll get straight to the point!" Fatty Lin readily admitted his mistake and explained the whole story.

"You're in the store right now, I'll come over and we can talk in detail!" Hong Taidi said after listening.

"Brother Teddy, we're heading back now, we'll be at the store in twenty minutes!" Fatty Lin said.

"Okay, see you in a bit!" Hong Taidi said and hung up the phone.

Half an hour later, we met Hong Taidi at the store.

After introducing Hong Taidi and Li Donglin, Hong Taidi glanced at the information we had given him about the temple, asked a few questions, and left without lingering to help us research the temple.

"Hong Taidi is a decent person, but he carries too much negative karma on his shoulders; I'm afraid he won't have a peaceful end!"

After Hong Taidi left, Li Donglin spoke slowly.

"Brother Li, Teddy knows he won't have a good end, and he wants to atone for his sins, so he's more willing to do jobs that offend people!" Fatty Lin said with a smile.

Anyone with a discerning eye could tell that this temple was no ordinary place and must have powerful backers, yet Hong Taidi agreed without a second thought.

"He doesn't want to leave his karmic burden to his descendants!" Li Donglin saw through the truth at a glance.

"Brother Li, you see things very clearly!" Fatty Lin gave Li Donglin a thumbs up.

"Chirp chirp!" Little Ba glanced at Fatty Lin, curled its lips, and chirped twice.

"Xiao Ba said, 'Fatty's just a suck-up!'"

Long Nier translated with a smile.

"Xiao Ba, let's make up, brother. I'll never bother you again, okay?" Fatty Lin begged for forgiveness, cupping his hands in a gesture of respect.

"Chirp!"

Xiao Ba tilted his head, the meaning was simple: no way.
