Chapter 45 The Mysterious Path Through Eight Characters
Chapter 45 The Mysterious Path Through Eight Characters
I was hoping to get more information out of Shui Zong, but then the girl I had chosen came over.
So everyone had a great time.
It was noon the next day when I left the club.
We've been quite exhausted these past few days, so my brother and I were thinking of going back to the shop to make some medicinal cuisine to replenish our energy. We also wanted to ask Mr. Yang if he was free so he could try our cooking. But as soon as we arrived at the clinic, we received a call from Mr. Hua.
Hua said he needed to see us and asked us to come to his house.
"What is it?"
After putting down his phone, Fatty Lin asked.
"I don't know, it seems to be in a hurry!" I said.
Ten minutes later, we arrived at Hua Zong's villa.
As soon as I entered, I saw Hua Zong talking to a middle-aged woman who looked terrible.
"Little sister, these are Xiao Feng and Xiao Lin. Don't let their youth fool you, these two lads are incredibly capable!"
When he saw me and Fatty Lin come in, Boss Hua smiled and nodded at us, giving a brief introduction.
The woman whom Hua Zong called "Little Sister" was named Li Xiaomei.
Li Xiaomei's father was an old subordinate of Hua Zong's father, and they had a life-or-death friendship.
Li Xiaomei is now the only son in the Li family. She has been married and divorced, and has no children.
She sought out Mr. Hua for help this time.
Li Xiaomei has a plastic mold factory in Panggezhuang. Thanks to Hua Zong's help, business is pretty good. I dare not say how much, but she can still make a few hundred a year.
She came to see Hua Zong because she had run into trouble; she felt like she had been framed.
"Fourth Sister, why do you feel like someone is targeting you with evil magic?"
"I asked, Fatty Lin."
Li Xiaomei was the fourth child in her family. She originally had three older brothers, one of whom died before reaching adulthood, and the other two were martyrs.
Before his death, Li Xiaomei's father entrusted her to the Hua family, asking them to take care of her. Since President Hua stayed in the capital for many years, this task fell to him.
Li Xiaomei didn't have any grand ambitions; she just wanted to live a comfortable life by working at the mold factory.
Hua Zong naturally had to fulfill this small request, and he usually took good care of the factory. Most of the orders from the mold factory came from Hua Zong.
"These past two months have been incredibly unlucky!"
Li Xiaomei recalled for a moment and said, "First, one employee after another suffered workplace injuries, resulting in a lot of compensation. The machines also kept breaking down, making it impossible to complete orders on time. If it weren't for Third Brother taking care of me and not having to pay compensation according to the contract, I would have worked for nothing these past few years!"
"If that's the case, I haven't thought about it that way yet; I just feel unlucky and down on my luck!"
"For the past month or so, I've been experiencing auditory hallucinations—either hearing cats meowing or crows cawing. And it's not just me; my employees sometimes hear it too!"
"I've been reflecting on what's happened over the past few months, and something feels off!"
"I've had fortune tellers tell me all sorts of things, and I even had Taoist priests and Buddhist monks perform rituals, but it didn't work. It's still just auditory hallucinations!"
"Fourth Sister, did you offend someone recently?" Fatty Lin asked after hearing the story.
"No!"
Li Xiaomei thought for a moment and then shook her head.
"Fourth Sister, think about it again!"
"That's what Fatty Lin said."
"Really not!" Li Xiaomei thought for a moment, then shook her head.
"Fourth Sister, judging from your description, especially the fact that your employees are experiencing auditory hallucinations, only some kind of unorthodox feng shui arrangement could achieve such an effect!"
"A feng shui arrangement with such obvious effects must have been done by someone from the Taoist school. If you haven't offended anyone, who would set up such a arrangement to harm you?"
"Fourth Sister, think about it again carefully. Perhaps it's a business partner, or an older rival!"
"That's what Fatty Lin said."
"It's unlikely to be the enemy. Uncle Li has been gone for many years, and with our family's support, who would be so blind as to mess with my little sister?"
Hua Zong then chimed in, "Business partners are unlikely either. Who would dare steal the orders I gave to my little sister?"
"Third Brother, I just remembered something!" Li Xiaomei said after a moment's hesitation.
"What is it?" Hua Zong asked.
"About six months ago, someone wanted to buy my factory, but I didn't sell. That person made several offers, and I felt the later ones were a bit outrageous!"
As Li Xiaomei reminisced, she said, "Third Brother, you know, thanks to your help, I've made quite a bit of money over the years. That's enough for me to live comfortably for the rest of my life. I'm still running this factory mainly to keep myself occupied. I feel anxious whenever I'm idle, and I always think of my brothers!"
When her deceased brother was mentioned, Li Xiaomei's eyes reddened. She wiped her eyes and said, "I'm getting off-topic, I'm getting off-topic!"
"After that person raised the price several times, I became suspicious and felt something was off. I was just about to ask you to help me investigate what kind of person he was, but then he decided not to buy anymore, so I didn't contact you!"
"What was his final offer?" Hua Zong asked.
"Three hundred million!"
Li Xiaomei held up three fingers and said, "Third Brother, you know Panggezhuang is a bit remote. Besides, my factory isn't very big, it only occupies less than two acres. Why is he asking for such a high price?"
"That place would be nice to develop, but I haven't heard anything about it being developed!"
"I remember now, you once asked me about demolition and relocation. I thought you were planning to hoard land!" Hua Zong said.
"Yes, that was it!" Li Xiaomei nodded and said, "He initially asked for 50 million, which was barely reasonable. When he saw that I disagreed, he kept raising the price, eventually reaching 300 million!"
"Isn't this nonsense?"
"My factory only gets orders and makes money because of your help, Third Brother. Where will he find orders after he buys the factory?"
"Besides, it's less than two acres in total, not enough for anything. I became suspicious then, and when he saw that I was suspicious, he said he wouldn't buy it anymore. After that, he never showed up again!"
"Fourth Sister, hearing you say that, it's really possible he did it!" Fatty Lin pondered for a moment and said, "How about this, Fourth Sister, I'll go to your factory and take a look!"
"Okay!" Li Xiaomei nodded.
"Since I have nothing else to do, I'll go and take a look too!" said Mr. Hua.
It takes at least half an hour to get from here to Panggezhuang, even without traffic jams, and it's hard to say if there are any.
Since there was plenty of time, Fatty Lin said immediately after getting into the car, "Fourth Sister, give me your birth details!"
"Why!"
Li Xiaomei nodded and gave her birth date and time.
"Fourth Sister, I'm the kind of person who knows a little bit about everything. Let me do a divination for you first!"
As he spoke, Fatty Lin took out paper and pen and began calculating in front of us, saying, "They say those skilled in divination don't use it for prophecy, but my skills aren't up to par, so in crucial moments I can only resort to writing!"
"The skill passed down in my family is called Qimen Dunjia piercing the Eight Characters. The Eight Characters determine the rise and fall of a person's life, while Qimen Dunjia determines the good or bad fortune of a particular event. By combining the power of the two, using the Qimen Dunjia chart to interpret the details in the Eight Characters chart, and then using the Eight Characters chart to anchor the information in the Qimen Dunjia chart that is relevant to the individual, that is Qimen Dunjia piercing the Eight Characters!"
