Chapter 152 Heading to Belgrade
Chapter 152 Heading to Belgrade
Today's task is to travel to Belgrade, the capital of the Mage Council.
When Lynn finished washing up and arrived at the restaurant, Lia, Elune, Sylvia, Alicia, and the catgirl Amber were already sitting around the table.
Ok.
Vera was there too.
The druid's physical condition was quite good. After a day of rest yesterday, her complexion was still somewhat rosy, except for the fact that she had changed from a girl to a young woman.
The rest have almost fully recovered.
"Good morning, brother!" Leah greeted him energetically.
"Lynn, you foresaw this!" Alicia smiled brightly, seemingly having completely forgotten her marriage proposal speech.
Elune nodded slightly, a hint of tenderness flashing in her eyes when they met Lynn's.
Sylvia lowered her head in a fluster, her ear tips turning slightly red.
Amber focused intently on the fried fish in front of her.
Lynn sat down and explained his plans for the day: "I need to go to Belgrade to attend the opening ceremony of a new store."
"Belgrade? The capital of the Mage Council?" Alicia's eyes lit up. "I've heard of it! They say there are many interesting magical creations there! I want to go!"
"I want to go see it too!" Leah immediately raised her hand.
Elune looked at Lynn and said somewhat shyly, "I want to go too."
"Where's Vera?" Lynn asked, looking at the elven woman who was pretending to eat a steamed bun.
"Of course I'm going!!" Perhaps the scene from the night before was too unforgettable, as her face was still slightly flushed.
Ultimately, the women present all said they wanted to go together.
Considering the large number of people, Lynn decided to give Hill a ride.
When Hill arrived in Handong City, his true form as a red dragon, hundreds of meters long, appeared in the open space in front of the castle, attracting many astonished glances.
Just as they were about to set off, three figures rushed over.
"Hey! You lowly prophet! I, the Grand Duke, am going too!" Linor was still wearing that gothic dress.
"There might be ancient texts about spatial magic there, or we might be able to get some useful materials! Anyway, you have to take me with you!"
Before Lynn could answer, another cheerful voice rang out: "Prophet, how could we return to the Mage Council without me?"
Shi Laila appeared with a smile, holding the hand of a petite figure who was desperately trying to shrink back.
She was a girl who was about 1.4 meters tall, and her pale golden eyes were darting around nervously.
She had smooth, pink, ear-length short hair, with a pair of delicate engineering goggles clipped to her hair.
His proportions were incredibly well-balanced; he wore easy-to-move grey cargo pants and a white shirt, with a vest over which he had many pockets.
She exuded a shy and timid air, like a wary little animal that had wandered into a crowd.
"This is Grena, the youngest genius mechanical master among the dwarves I've mentioned before!" Lyra introduced, while forcefully pushing the pink-haired girl, who was trying to curl up into a ball, forward.
"Lyra, I... I think I'll go back to my research..." Grena's voice was very soft, her eyes darting around, and she didn't dare to look at Lynn.
"No way, Grena." Lyra put her hands on her hips.
"You've been in the lab for ages!"
"If we don't come out and get some sun soon, we'll all grow mushrooms!"
"Besides, this trip is to Belgrade, the stronghold of our Mage Council. There are bound to be many novel machines and magic arrays you've never seen before! Don't you want to go and see them?"
"I do want to... but..." Grena murmured, her pale golden eyes flashing for a mere half-second before being suppressed by social anxiety.
"No buts!" Lyra said without further ado, pulling out a sturdy-looking rope from somewhere, wrapping it around Grena's waist, and pulling on the other end. "Let's go, let's go, the Prophet is in a hurry!"
"Ugh..." Grena let out a weak moan, half-pushed and half-pulled onto Hill's back, where she curled up in the corner.
With everyone present, Hill let out a long dragon roar, spread his wings, creating a gust of air, and soared into the sky, flying northwest towards Belgrade.
High in the sky, mountains and rivers sweep past below.
Lynn briefly introduced his companions to Grena, and the pink-haired mechanic responded in a barely audible voice.
Belgrade, a magical city situated on the central plains.
As you get closer, its extraordinary presence as the capital of the Mage Council and a sacred site for countless truth-seeking mages gradually comes into view.
The first thing that catches the eye is the various magical vehicles flying orderly above the city—there are magical flying boats as elegant as swans, there are buzzing hovering platforms that can carry several people, and there are even flying skateboards for single use.
The city itself is not entirely constructed of traditional bricks and stones; many buildings utilize glowing magical crystals, alloys flowing with runes, and some kind of translucent lightweight material.
A complex arcane array rotates atop the towering tower, constantly adjusting the city's magical concentration and elemental balance.
After landing in the designated large flying creature parking area on the outskirts, the group officially entered the city streets.
The scenery here is even more breathtaking:
The streets were wide and clean, paved with stone slabs that had their own dim lighting and cleaning runes.
The shop windows on both sides no longer displayed ordinary goods, but magic scrolls shimmering with arcane light, floating and rotating crystal balls, and mechanical constructs of various shapes.
People dressed in various mage robes and wearing badges of different ranks hurried by, some engaged in heated discussions about academic issues, others engrossed in studying the magical tomes in their hands.
Even more striking are the moving creations: there are half-human-sized, round-headed cleaning puppets that pick up trash with their flexible mechanical arms; there are transport vehicles that carry cargo boxes and travel along fixed routes; and there are even well-dressed ceremonial golems that guide passersby.
Occasionally, one can see sleek magical cars driving by, their runes flashing as they turn, driving the wheels.
"Wow! That metal box that can walk by itself!" Leah exclaimed, pointing at the magical car in the distance.
"The energy utilization rate is estimated to be between 30% and 35%. The transmission structure seems to be based on goblin engineering but has been optimized. The formula for the magic-guiding coating on the outer shell is very unique..." Grena's eyes lit up, and she unconsciously uttered a series of technical terms until she realized that everyone was looking at her. She then suddenly shut her mouth and buried her face in her hands.
Alicia looked around curiously, showing great interest in everything new.
Elune remained calm, but her gaze occasionally lingered on some crystal decorations imbued with natural magic.
Sylvia followed behind somewhat nervously, feeling uneasy about the city, so different from the forest.
Amber's cat eyes were wide open, its tail held straight up, showing both wariness and irresistible curiosity about its surroundings.
Linor curled her lip and muttered, "Fancy and impractical."
Leila led the way with practiced ease, passing through several bustling streets before finally arriving at an exceptionally wide main road teeming with people.
The area in front of a new three-story shop with large transparent crystal windows and a glittering sign was already packed with people.
