Chapter 139 The Tall, Mysterious Female Insect
Chapter 139 The Tall, Mysterious Female Insect
This was the first time Cheng Chu had gone out alone since she transmigrated to the Zerg world.
The weather has been rather cool these past few days, and the sun doesn't feel too hot on your skin.
0123 had planned the best route for the trip, and Cheng Chu only needed to follow the instructions from the quantum computer.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, Cheng Chu wrapped himself up tightly before going out.
A brown hooded sweatshirt paired with loose black cargo pants, along with a mask and sunglasses, completely conceals the color of her hair and eyes.
A giant insect over 1.9 meters tall walks out, and if you don't look closely, it's easy to mistake it for a female insect.
The distance between his house and the gate of the villa complex was neither too far nor too close; it would take at least thirty to forty minutes to walk there. Fortunately, 0123 told Chengchu that there was a free, self-driving shuttle bus in the villa complex that could take him there.
Cheng Chu prepared to walk towards the door, with 0123 following behind.
0123 was still asking, "Your Excellency, are you leaving now? Do you really not need 0123 to accompany you? Or should 0123 notify the General to return and keep you company?"
Cheng Chu paused, turned around, and patted 0123's round metal head, saying, "I don't need you. I can do it myself. And you're not allowed to tell Mikel, understand?"
0123 looked up at Cheng Chu, its mechanical voice tinged with worry: "But, Your Majesty, it's too dangerous outside. There are many flying machines, they're very fast and might hit you. There are many strange insects, they might kidnap you. And there are other dangers..."
I have no idea what's been entered into 0123's program; my head is filled with these strange thoughts.
"Stop!" Cheng Chu interrupted 0123's rambling.
If 0123 continued talking, Cheng Chu suspected that he might die in the wilderness and never return after going out.
He took off his sunglasses, bent down, and placed his hands on his knees to look 0123 in the eye. He said, "0123, I'm just going out to buy a gift for my wife. I'm not going to fight a war. It's not as exaggerated as you're making it out to be."
"Oh……"
0123 looked dejected.
Cheng Chu straightened up, put his sunglasses back on, and adjusted his mask.
"Alright, I really have to go now. 0123, take good care of the house."
"Yes, Your Majesty." 0123 bypassed Cheng Chu and arrived at the door. The mechanical arm extended and pressed a yellow button next to the door.
"Your Majesty, we have called an autonomous shuttle bus, which will arrive in three minutes. Please wait a moment."
It was supposed to be three minutes, but it was actually about two minutes before the car arrived.
The yellow shuttle bus stopped steadily at the door. There were two seats on it, and Cheng Chu sat in the left seat.
0123's robotic arm swayed as it bid farewell to Cheng Chu: "Your Excellency, please be careful when you go out. 0123 will be waiting for you and the General to return together."
Cheng Chu: "Okay."
0123 watched the male insect grow farther and farther away until it was out of sight before turning back.
Because of the speed limit in the villa complex, it took Cheng Chu more than ten minutes to get to the gatehouse in the self-driving shuttle bus.
After getting off the shuttle bus, Cheng Chu passed through the machine at the entrance without any problems. A female insect working there gave Cheng Chu a strange look several times before finally letting him through.
Cheng Chu thanked him politely, saying, "Thank you."
Cheng Chu walked a short distance and stopped, then lowered his head and followed the instructions from the quantum computer step by step.
A tall female insect, completely covered up except for her two hands, is an outfit that is sure to attract attention.
But he did come from the villa complex; his registration information is in the system, and his identity is not in question.
The female insects working at the gate saw that the tall female insect walked along and then stopped, raising one finger and slowly poking at the screen.
About ten minutes later, an autopilot aircraft drove up and stopped in front of the female insect.
"Welcome aboard our aircraft, please come aboard."
The female insect, with only her two hands showing, gripped the door frame of the aircraft, lowered her head, and lifted her foot to climb on. Unexpectedly, she lost her footing, her shoes slipped, and she almost fell.
Just as the female insects working at the gate were holding their breath for him, he managed to steady himself and brace himself on the steps of the aircraft, thus avoiding a fall.
"Who is this? I've never seen someone this tall before?"
"What's the use of being tall? You can still crash when you're on a plane. You just look stupid."
"Hey, do you think he's wrapped up like that because he was beaten by his male master...?" a working female insect speculated maliciously.
"I think so too, otherwise why would they wrap themselves up like that?"
"Hey, aren't you guys going too far? Maybe he's just afraid of getting sunburned?" The female insect that Cheng Chu thanked couldn't stand her colleagues' malicious speculation and spoke up for Cheng Chu.
However, he received disdain and sarcastic remarks from his other colleagues.
"Yes, yes, you're absolutely right~"
Cheng Chu, who was already far away from the villa complex, was unaware that the female insect working at the gate had a minor argument with him.
Cheng Chu's first stop was a jewelry store. The autopilot stopped in front of the store according to the navigation.
The automatic payment was successful, and Cheng Chu received a call from Mikel as soon as he got off the plane.
Seeing Mikel's name shining brightly on the screen, Cheng Chu's first thought was that 0123 had complained again.
"My lord...my lord? Why...why are you wrapped up like this?"
As soon as the communication was connected, Mikel's hesitant voice came through.
Mikel looked at the male insect, who was wearing a hat, mask, and sunglasses, and for a moment he almost didn't recognize him.
"Honey, did 0123 tell you?" Cheng Chu was a little angry: "Didn't I tell it not to tell you? It won't listen to me at all."
Mikel had just returned to his office from the training field. He sat down in his chair and chuckled, "It wasn't 0123 who said that, Master. You've wronged it."
Cheng Chu didn't believe him. He raised his hand to adjust his glasses: "Then how did you know I wasn't home?"
"My lord, have you forgotten?" Mikel smiled and said, "You had class this afternoon. Your tutor came to the house but couldn't find you, so she looked for me, and that's how I found out."
"Ah..." Cheng Chu suddenly remembered, his tone annoyed, "I forgot, where's the teacher? Is he still waiting for me?"
No wonder he felt like he'd forgotten something when he left home; he'd forgotten his afternoon class.
Cheng Chu was so focused on how to celebrate Mikel's birthday that she completely forgot about her afternoon class and stood her teacher up. She felt she had really gone too far.
"I sent him back; he won't be attending class today." Mikel picked up the cup beside him and took a sip.
"That's good, that's good." Cheng Chu breathed a sigh of relief.
Mikel stared at the background behind the male insect on the screen; the buildings in the background seemed somewhat familiar. Every now and then, a few female insects would walk by on the street, giving the male insect strange looks, whispering a few words, and then walking away.
He asked, "My lord, where are you now? Are you here to buy me a gift?"
Cheng Chu quickly turned the screen around to face the floor, preventing Mikel from seeing it.
"It's a secret for now! You're not allowed to ask. I haven't made my choice yet. I want to give you a surprise."
Now the surprise has been ruined!
