Chapter 13 Obito's Phantom Pain
Chapter 13 Obito's Phantom Pain
In Obito Uchiha's eyes, the huge classroom seemed empty, with only Rin Nohara's adorable figure firmly occupying his entire field of vision.
Nohara Rin finally noticed Obito outside the window. She was stunned for a moment, her cheeks flushed red, and she froze in her seat, at a loss for what to do.
The class was interrupted and could not continue.
Xingyuan Qianshuo walked out of the classroom and called Uchiha Obito in.
"Please introduce yourself," said Hoshino Senju to Obito, who was standing on the podium looking somewhat flustered.
"Ah, uh... my name is Uchiha Obito." Knowing he had caused trouble, Obito obediently complied. "I didn't mean to disturb everyone, I'm really sorry!"
Hoshino Senju smiled inwardly: "You really didn't do it on purpose—99% of your brain is filled with Nohara Rin, so it's normal that the remaining 1% can't function properly."
Although he secretly complained, he was not angry. Establishing connections with key figures like Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha was already part of his plan.
Since receiving the system reward [Hidden Shadow Snake Hand] after healing Mitarashi Anko, he has realized that healing important characters from the original work yields exceptionally generous rewards, and may even grant him early access to their future abilities.
And the Uchiha Obito standing before us is one of the ultimate bosses of the future.
Even though he was hidden behind Nagato, merely the second layer of a villainous nesting doll, his peak strength was still that of the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki, a being who had stepped into the Six Paths level—though he was the "Six Paths Gatekeeper," he was still a genuine Six Paths level being.
Hoshino Senju adjusted his expression, revealing a warm smile, and said to Obito:
"Okay, I believe you didn't mean it. We're currently teaching 'First Aid for External Injuries,' and we need someone to act as an injured person and demonstrate. Can you help us with that?"
"Yes! Yes!" Obito nodded hurriedly. He was willing to do anything as long as he could be in the same classroom as Rin.
This morning he ate the food his grandmother cooked and helped several elderly women cross the street. He originally planned to go to the training ground to practice.
But the thought of Lin attending medical training at school today made him unable to resist wanting to find her.
Unfortunately, he didn't know exactly where the classroom was, and it took him quite a while to find it. In his excitement, he knocked on the window and called out Lin's name, which led to the scene we see now.
Xingyuan Qianshuo continued his course:
"Let's assume that Obito Uchiha graduates next year and becomes a genin, forming a team with one of you. During a mission, you fight the enemy inside a cave, where the enemy uses Earth Release ninjutsu, causing the cave ceiling to collapse—"
As he spoke, he gestured with a pointer at Obito's right side, saying with a wicked grin:
"A huge rock fell rapidly, hitting his right side and pinning him underneath."
"So, after the enemy temporarily retreats, what emergency measures would you, as a teammate, need to take for Obito?"
When Xingyuan Qianshuo gestured with the pointer, Obito felt a chill on the right side of his body, and even faintly felt a "phantom pain" as if he were being pressed down by a rock.
With real-person demonstrations, the classroom effect was significantly improved, and students began to think critically.
"Teacher, if he were hit by such a big rock, wouldn't he die?"
"Teacher, we need to move the stone first!"
"Teacher, we should first check which vital areas are injured!"
……
Listening to everyone's discussion, Obito felt that the "phantom pain" became clearer.
"Very good. Jingyin's answer is the most accurate." After the discussion subsided slightly, Xingyuan Qianshuo gestured for everyone to be quiet and summarized:
"First, we must quickly check Obito for any vital injuries. Moving him or breaking rocks without checking him first could very likely worsen his injuries."
"Is his head injured? Is he bleeding? Is he unconscious?" he asked, pointing to Obito's head.
"No, no! My head is perfectly fine!" Obito quickly replied, shaking his head vigorously.
"Hahahaha..." Laughter erupted in the classroom.
Rin, who had been looking worried because she imagined Obito getting injured, was amused and relaxed by his funny reaction.
Xingyuan Qianshuo ignored him and continued explaining:
"Neck, spine, lungs, heart, liver, kidneys..."
He used a pointer to touch various vital points on Obito's body in turn, deepening the students' impression.
Poor Obito could only feel the "phantom pain" chasing after his teacher's pointer, traversing his entire body.
"In dealing with emergency injuries, every second counts. Only after a quick and skillful assessment of the injury can we formulate the next treatment plan." Hoshino Senju finally ended his "torture" of Obito and continued the course.
"Should we prioritize treating vital injuries, or move the rocks first? What's the best way to move the rocks? Can we pry them up? Can we break them? Are there any suitable ninjutsu techniques available? Can the injured person hold on until reinforcements arrive? What changes will occur to the injuries after the rocks are moved? And how should we proceed with follow-up treatment? — These are all questions you urgently need to consider."
He finished speaking in one breath, and the students seemed to really see the image of Obito being crushed by a boulder.
After giving Xingyuan Qianshuo about ten seconds to process the information, he spoke again:
"A student just asked if being hit by such a big rock would kill them. Obviously, this student hasn't remembered the three principles of us medical ninjas."
He turned and pointed to the guidelines that remained on the left side of the blackboard, reading them word by word:
"First: Medical ninjas must never give up on treating a team member before they die."
"When we are helping our fellow patients, we must go all out and never give up; when we are helping strangers, we must also be conscientious and never slack off."
His solemn tone and words made the atmosphere in the classroom heavy.
After a moment of silence, Xingyuan Qianshuo broke the silence with a relaxed tone:
"Of course, you are all newcomers to the path of medical ninjas, so it's understandable that you have questions. But you must remember these three principles set forth by Lady Tsunade. We will have a dictation test next week."
Thanks to Obito's "sacrifice" and dedication, this lesson on emergency treatment of external injuries was lively and interesting. Before we knew it, get out of class was over.
Xingyuan Qianshuo was unsure whether it was his superior teaching skills or the effectiveness of the [Benevolent Heart Inheritance] skill.
In short, the students listened very attentively throughout the two lessons, and the classroom atmosphere was excellent.
"For the last two periods today, we will conduct chakra control training. After the break, everyone should immediately assemble at the third training ground."
Next, he will lead these students in an advanced training program beyond the ninja academy's curriculum—tree climbing.
The 42 students in the medical specialty class are all gifted individuals with exceptional chakra control. However, this ability still requires systematic training to solidify and enhance.
Of course, now it's 42+1—with the addition of Obito, an unexpected "unofficial student".
