Chapter 102 Uncovering the Truth, Mysteries Finally Solved
Picking up where we left off, the students outside Slytherin were already somewhat surprised and suspicious when they saw the phoenix badge.
Now, after hearing Harry's threatening words, the initial fear had turned into a strong belief.
A first-year wizard who often chatted with Harry during lunch hesitated for a moment before speaking: "The password is pureblood."
Upon hearing this, Percy went straight to the stone wall and shouted the command. With a loud bang, the stone wall suddenly opened.
Ron and the others held their breath, gripping their wands tightly. When the stone wall parted, they saw about a hundred students standing densely packed inside, all staring intently at them.
Harry glanced over and spotted Draco right in the center of the crowd.
He stepped forward, raised the phoenix emblem, and shouted, "I am acting on Professor Dumbledore's orders. Anyone who obstructs me will be killed without mercy!"
The badges glowed with magical light, but the Slytherin students remained silent, staring intently at them with unsettling eyes, creating an eerie and menacing atmosphere.
George glanced at them a few times, his heart pounding. He quickly whispered to Harry, "Harry, I have a feeling something's off about these guys—they look a bit like zombies."
"Brother, don't panic. Go and find the victim. I'll take care of things here."
George nodded in response to the order and then called Fred to rush out the door.
Percy and the others immediately scattered to search for the strange place in the lounge.
Harry, knife in hand, stared intently at Draco, and seeing that Draco remained unfazed, thought to himself:
Lockhart claimed that Draco was most afraid of his magical items, so why didn't he even blink when he saw this knife today?
The two locked eyes, one waving a ring knife slightly from side to side, the other gripping his wand tightly and remaining motionless.
Suddenly, Harry's gauntlet began to glow brightly.
Harry sneered inwardly. This scoundrel was indeed up to no good. I was just looking for a pretext to kill him.
He immediately suppressed his murderous intent, waiting for Draco to make his move. However, after waiting for a long time, Draco simply snorted coldly and turned away.
Harry cursed his bad luck and went to look for the dark magic item. He took only a few steps and then stopped, but the glowing of the arm guards had not diminished in the slightest.
A doubt arose in his mind. He pondered: This arm guard shines brightly when it's close to evil thoughts, but dims when it's far away. Now, I'm three or five feet away from Malfoy, yet the light hasn't diminished. This is truly strange.
He found it strange and retreated further away, changing his position several times, but the glowing light of the arm guard still shone brightly.
Upon seeing this, Harry had a bad feeling. He knew all too well that the Slytherin students in the lounge all harbored ill intentions.
A strange thought rose in Harry's mind, and he suddenly pulled out his wand and went straight for the stunned Goyle.
Goyle was terrified of Harry, and when he saw Harry coming with a knife and cane, he was thrown into a panic.
"What are you trying to do? This is—"
"Capture the spirit, grasp the mind!"
Upon hearing this incantation, Gore's eyes rolled back, and all the schemes hidden in his mind were revealed like a book.
"You idiot, you actually got drugged with butter and beer, but I can give you another chance."
"What, what is this piece of paper?"
"It was torn from a diary. You'll see once you use it."
"Draco! Tom's paper is so pure! I feel like my magic has increased a lot!"
"Of course, the senior students all say it's great. You should find a few more reliable people..."
"Draco, why did Tom take our magic away?"
"Your senior has helped you so much, what's wrong with lending him a little magic?"
Harry thoroughly reviewed Goyle's memories and discovered that, in addition to this espionage, the birdmen had hidden the basilisk in a secret compartment of the common room.
When searching for dark magic items, everyone protected each other. One pretended to order around house-elves, while another took the opportunity to pass books and papers. They were a den of snakes and rats!
Once he was out of it, Harry was already filled with rage and hatred.
Unable to find any trace of the Basilisk or any dark magic items, it turned out that the entire Slytherin flock had defected to Voldemort!
Goyle staggered back a few steps, crying out in terror, "Draco! He knows everything! He can Legilimency!"
"Shut up, you idiot, I heard you a long time ago."
Draco clapped his hands, and the students in the lounge, like puppets on strings, pulled out their wands with a "whoosh."
Even those who had been peering out the door just moments before now stood like zombies, all pointing their wands at Harry and his group.
Seeing this, Percy and the others knew perfectly well that these students had been working with the heir of the secret chamber all along.
Hermione's face paled. "No wonder we haven't found anything after searching so many times; they have more accomplices than house-elves!"
"Wait a minute, aren't there a few Slytherin students here?" Ron and Percy asked nervously, back to back. "If only the traitors are here, what about the non-traitors—have they all been killed?"
"Kill them all? Of course not. They are Tom's precious backup source of magic. I just used Potter's methods to feed them some sleeping pills."
Draco stepped closer and said contemptuously, "Potter, I was originally going to spare your life, and wait until that old man was out of there."
"But since your curiosity is so strong, then I'll deal with you tonight—"
"Professor Dumbledore is coming!" Hermione stepped in front of Harry, her voice filled with anxiety. "He will never let you kill a student!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a sound came from the stone wall, and Fred and George jumped in together.
"Harry! The victim was Flint!"
"That's right, this guy's a pureblood—what happened here?"
Seeing a dozen or so wands coming at them all at once, neither of the brothers dared to make a move.
Draco sneered, "Dumbledore? I had already sent the message out before Flint was petrified."
"Flint's mother, like my father, is a member of the Hogwarts Board of Governors. If nothing unexpected happens, the Ministry of Magic and the Board of Governors are already at the school."
"Dumbledore doesn't have time to save you!"
Upon hearing these words, Percy felt a chill run from his tailbone to the top of his head.
This is a conspiracy!
A conspiracy against Professor Dumbledore!
To this end, they went so far as to petrify a descendant of one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Races so that the Ministry of Magic and the Board of Governors could impeach him and expel him from the school!
Percy gritted his teeth, shielding Harry and Hermione behind him. "I'll cover your retreat. Whoever it is, make sure the message gets out!"
Harry laughed loudly, "Brother, what do you mean? With all these scoundrels gathered here today, it saves me the trouble of searching for them all!"
"come out!"
With a loud shout, the monk's knife slammed down, and white smoke billowed from the lounge as dozens of house-elves instantly sprang out.
Hermione, seeing this, was overjoyed and clapped her hands, exclaiming, "That's right! I almost forgot, we can also get the house-elves to help!"
"No, this won't work."
Fred shook his head and said, "George and I discovered this when we were in second grade: house-elves cannot harm students, not even have the thought of doing so."
Just as Fred had said, the house-elves, upon hearing Harry's command, were so terrified that they nearly collapsed to their knees.
"Mr. Harry Potter! How can we hurt students!"
"Oh no! We shouldn't even listen to such things!"
"Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!"
The house-elves were thrown into chaos, and Draco scoffed, "Is this all you've got? A bunch of lackeys who aren't even as good as toads?"
Harry snorted and took the Phoenix Badge, shouting:
"Today, I will act on behalf of the headmaster and expel them all from the school, permanently removing them from the roster! From this day forward, they shall have no further connection with Hogwarts!"
As Harry uttered his words, it was as if a divine decree had been bestowed upon the world; the dark green robes of the Slytherin students instantly faded. Suddenly, green flames flickered in the fireplace, and several expulsion letters shot into the students' hands.
Percy and the others were dumbfounded, their mouths agape, completely at a loss for what to do.
Can you do this?
They just fire you like that?!
Draco stared blankly at the expulsion letter in his hand, when Harry roared again, "Why aren't you killing them all? What are you waiting for?!"
As if waking from a dream, these house-elves did not hesitate for a moment and immediately took action.
"Catch these intruders!"
"Protect Mr. Harry Potter and his friends!"
The house-elf pointed his finger, and a magical barrier immediately appeared around Harry and his friends.
Upon seeing this, Draco no longer cared about the expulsion letter and immediately shouted, "Kill them!"
Upon receiving the order, the Death Eaters chanted their incantations. A hundred or so spells were cast, yet the barrier showed no sign of damage.
Having protected their master, these house-elves used their special skill: without holding wands or chanting spells, they simply pointed their fingers around.
But amidst the wailing and flashes of cursed light, in less than half an incense stick's time, all the Death Eater disciples were sprawled out on the ground, slumped over.
Draco stubbornly resisted, but after being struck by four or five spells that caused him to faint, he too collapsed and could not rise again.
The lead house-elf approached Harry and bowed respectfully, saying, "Mr. Harry Potter, we have defeated the intruders."
"Ha, you all have such compassionate hearts. If I hadn't spared any lives, there wouldn't be a single dead person here."
The house-elf was startled by these words and stammered, "Oh... sir, I, I just—"
Harry ignored him and went straight to Draco. He pressed the ring knife against Draco's heart and plunged it in. The man cried out in pain, his eyes snapping open like bells, and he made a hoarse sound.
"Ugh! Let go, loosen your grip!"
Harry plunged the knife a little deeper. "Where are Voldemort's books? Bring them to me right now!"
Draco shuddered upon hearing the name. "What nonsense are you spouting?!"
Percy and the two twins dropped their wands in astonishment. "God, the Mysterious Man?"
Seeing the genuine surprise and doubt on Draco's face, Ron couldn't help but ask, "Malfoy, is your brain filled with dung?"
"Faced with a book that can talk, didn't you even think to look up who Tom Riddle is?"
"Senior Tom..."
Draco's face alternated between pale and flushed, a mixture of surprise, doubt, and fear. His expression revealed a complex array of emotions.
"I, of course I know!"
"No, Tom lied to me..."
"No! I misunderstood him!"
This fellow seems possessed by a ghost, yet no one here knows how to perform shamanic rituals.
Enraged, Harry spread his fingers and swung his arm, slapping him across the face from both sides. "Hey! You scoundrel! You think I'll let you off just because you're pretending to be crazy?!"
"Potter! What are you doing?!"
A furious shout suddenly came from behind Harry. He turned around and saw that it was Snape.
"Flint, petrified in the hallway—who was the idiot who drew those whiskers on his face?!"
"And why are a bunch of owls coming to me, asking me to write reasons for expulsion for students' parents?!"
"Finally! What's going on with all these people?! Harry James Potter, you better give me an explanation!"
Listen, dear reader: Snape was fast asleep in the middle of the night when a magical rooster's crow suddenly broke his peaceful slumber. He quickly threw on his robes and headed straight for the Slytherin common room. But halfway there, he was suddenly attacked by a flock of owls who seemed to have no idea whatsoever.
Having finally managed to break free, I walked to the lounge, only to find students sprawled on the floor, their bodies slumped together. How could I possibly suppress the nameless rage in my heart?
When Harry saw Snape asking a question, he sneered, "You want me to explain? I'm the one who wants to know the answer!"
"The good students they teach are nothing but wicked, malicious scoundrels!"
Snape's face darkened, and he drew his wand. "I think I need to calm you down, Potter."
"I'll first dismiss you from your position as dean, and teach you a lesson!"
Seeing the two men exuding murderous intent and poised to clash, Percy mustered his courage and stepped forward. "Professor Snape, please allow me to explain."
He recounted the events to Snape, and upon hearing the news, the entire group of people who had collapsed on the ground began to decay. Snape looked as if he had swallowed a live toad, a truly humiliating sight.
"These brainless idiots!"
"Even the Hand of Glory can't figure this out, yet they dare to touch this kind of living black magic item!"
He jumped up, grabbed Draco, and shouted, "Where's that dark magic item?!"
Draco muttered to himself, his eyes vacant, as if he had lost his mind.
Seeing this, Snape summoned another house-elf. "Where is Dumbledore now?"
The elf snapped his fingers and disappeared for a moment before returning respectfully, saying, "Professor Dumbledore is in the hut by the Forbidden Forest. He told me not to disturb them yet."
"Them? Who else?"
"They are gentlemen from the Ministry of Magic."
Upon hearing these words, Snape's face instantly darkened. Harry's heart sank as well, knowing that the group of birdmen were definitely heading for Hagrid.
"Potter!" Snape suddenly spoke up, "Go find Dumbledore, and don't let those idiots take him away."
"Ha, you think I don't want to go? Without concrete evidence, how can those bastards know it's Voldemort's doing!"
The teachings were clear, the arm guards gleamed with trepidation, and the true nature of the Divine Intervention was revealed. The Slytherin students all turned against him; the pure-bloods perished, bringing disaster; the Ministry of Magic rushed straight to Dumbledore. To find out what happens next, stay tuned for the next installment.
